At that sa mont, Potimas watched every movent in the wasteland through an aerial surveillance cara. Seeing the two spider girls who had suddenly achieved godhood, his fury reached a boiling point. After plotting for so many years, he found it suffocating to be surpassed by two monsters who weren't even two years old.
"Soone, prepare the army. We are going to hunt down the white ones beside the Demon Lord," Potimas commanded with a cold sneer. After a mont of thought, he added, "Take Oka-chan with you as well". He imagined the grim irony of making reincarnations kill one another and smiled darkly.
While Shiro was still agonized over whether to abandon her secret hoard, a thoughtful Ariel sohow procured a luxurious, extra-long horse carriage.
"Sigh... take as much as you can. I can't help with the rest," Ariel said, rubbing her forehead as she watched a reluctant Shiro. This was the largest carriage Ariel could buy with her own savings. Before becoming the Demon Lord, Ariel had worked hard to build her wealth and was quite well-off, though she didn't understand Shiro's obsession with these relatively worthless items. However, considering the duo was incapable of long-distance travel on foot, a carriage was the best option.
After a brief organization, Shiro selected essential supplies, leaving the rest in the wasteland. The clothing made from her silk, which possessed superior defense, was a necessity now that they couldn't use skills. As for the pots, pans, and massive stores of monster at, she could only abandon them with tears in her eyes. Shirazawa had fewer worries; he carried his twin blades and felt light–though, unfortunately, he didn't even have the strength to lift them, so they sat gathering dust in the carriage.
"Alright, destination: the Demon Territory. Let's go!"
"Roooar!"
The group set off toward the Demon Territory with excitent. razophis drove while Ariel sat on the roof to keep watch. The remaining spider sisters stayed inside to protect Shirazawa and Shiro, with Sophia taking charge of their care. The carriage was packed to the brim; if it weren't being pulled by lower-tier Earth Dragons, it might not have moved at all.
Previously, their team's combat power was off the charts, allowing them to go anywhere without fear. Now, Shirazawa and Shiro had beco liabilities. Between the rush to safety and the threat of elven assassins, the journey was bound to be turbulent. To reach safety as quickly as possible, Ariel ordered razophis to speed up, which spelled disaster for the two "deities".
"Damn it!"
"So this is what motion sickness feels like... it's awful!"
The drawbacks of their infant-like state manifested again. Shirazawa's face turned pale as he clenched his fists, barely enduring the dizziness. As the carriage sped up, the jolting and bouncing beca nauseating. Shiro fared even worse; her constitution was naturally poor, and in this state, she felt worse than dead. She spent the journey vomiting and suffering from stomach cramps. Even with Sophia's diligent care, their symptoms wouldn't ease. Shiro beca increasingly frail and pale. Shirazawa had hoped to study the basic magical theories on the road, but it was impossible in this condition.
By the ti they left the wasteland and reached the border of the Renxandt Empire, the two had completely fainted from exhaustion. The only good news was that in human form, they could stay in human towns instead of camping in the wild.
"Master, don't die! Hold on!"
Sophia shook a frothing Shirazawa vigorously, making his nausea ten tis worse.
"Blegh–"
A rainbow-colored liquid slid from his mouth.
"Ugh!"
In the next mont, Shirazawa's eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness again. Ariel sighed and covered her forehead, seeing what a handful this group had beco. Sophia, realizing she had done sothing stupid, looked embarrassed and went silent. Fortunately, razophis knew how to care for people and carried Shirazawa toward an inn, with Ariel following behind carrying Shiro.
That night, Shirazawa woke from a nightmare to find himself on a soft bed. His dirty clothes had been laundered and replaced with a fresh dress.
"Ugh..."
His body felt limp and his head was fuzzy. He rubbed his brow, feeling exhausted. "I survived..."
Just as he was about to lie back down, he caught a feminine scent. He turned to find another patient lying beside him. The girl wore a pure white gauze dress, her features delicate and her skin flawless.
"Shiro?" he whispered, seeing her asleep.
"Mmm..."
Shiro opened her beautiful eyes and looked at him dazedly. "Don't wake ... let sleep more..." she murmured before closing her eyes again.
Shirazawa gently tucked her in and fell back into a deep sleep beside her. He had never realized how wonderful sleeping could be.
*Staaare–*
In the corner of the room, the introverted Sael watched them silently, her green eyes filled with confusion. Her simple spider brain didn't overthink it, and she continued her watch, occasionally blinking as she looked at their overlapping arms.
The next day, the two refused to get out of bed. After breakfast, Ariel helplessly took Sophia, razophis, and the other spider girls to the outskirts for daily training, leaving the wayward deities to their antics. She left the introverted Sael behind to guard them.
By midday, their hunger finally won out over their desire to do nothing.
"Aze, I'm hungry..." Shiro whispered piteously into his ear, her face adorably flushed.
"I'll get you sothing to eat..."
Shirazawa put on his little dress and went downstairs to order wheat porridge and vegetable dishes. Returning to the room, he placed the food on the table. For safety's sake, he was forced to continue wearing the female attire.
"I should have made so male clothes before achieving godhood. I was too careless," he cursed his own stupidity. Then, under Sael's curious gaze, he gently began feeding the goddess.
"Open wide, ahh–"
"Ahhh~"
Shiro cooperated obediently, feeling a sense of intimacy in their interaction. Yet, an unidentifiable trace of loneliness flickered through her heart. Once finished, they tried to figure out how to regain their strength, sitting cross-legged on the bed and trying to recall the feeling of releasing skills.
Gradually... a wave of sleepiness washed over them.
*Sleep, sleep. Staying alive is what matters.*
The two deities, having recovered only a fraction of their energy, drifted off into a deep slumber once again.
