...

Fortunately, Amadis quickly looked away.

Luckily, the dean wasn’t one for long speeches. He understood how exhausted the students were, so after a few brief words of encouragent, he dismissed them.

The apprentices scattered in an instant.

After seven straight days of trekking through the wilderness, the students were utterly exhausted. Now that they could finally rest, none of them wanted to stick around.

As for the specific assessnt rankings, they could check the bulletin board later.

Lynch naturally took the opportunity to slip away in the chaos and head straight back to his high-end villa.

Only after arriving at the villa did his mind begin to relax. He had truly racked his brain for this assessnt, and in the end, he had successfully achieved all his goals.

With the Undead System’s results this ti, they could at least avoid being shut down.

Moreover, Lynch’s gains this ti were imnse. Though on the surface he had only earned five hundred academic credits, his massive haul of spoils could be exchanged for a good deal of money.

Besides, he hadn’t helped those Undead apprentices for free. They would naturally contribute a portion of their academic credits to him.

In short, they had earned face, while Lynch had gained substance.

With these new resources, Lynch didn’t plan on going out for a while.

First, he needed to focus on breaking through to Tier One. Red Rabbit, his Bone Mage, Bone Shadow, and even the Fish Priest all needed to be upgraded with the Skeleton Enhancent Skill.

He also had to figure out a way to upgrade his Skeleton Summoning Skill to Lv. 2.

Saint Roland City wasn’t exactly safe right now; he had to use every available mont to increase his strength.

All in all, he had a lot to do.

But after seven days in the wilderness for the assessnt, he was just too tired.

’I should get so sleep first.’

Lynch took a long, comfortable bath, then imdiately flopped into bed and slept like the dead.

When he woke up, the sky was already pitch-black.

Lynch lay in bed for a while, slowly coming to his senses. He got up, washed his face, and was just about to head to the cafeteria for a late-night snack when he received a ssage through his spiritual link from the Squirrel Skeleton on periter guard duty.

A slender, furtive figure was peeking around his courtyard, looking like they wanted to co in but didn’t dare to.

Under the moonlight, her iconic long, silver hair and delicate profile made her look like a silver moon elf.

’Ugh...’

’What’s bound to happen will happen eventually.’

Lynch sighed helplessly.

With a thought, the Fish Priest strode forward, reached out a bony claw, and pulled open the villa’s main door with a CREAK.

The stealthily approaching Avril was startled by the sound of the door opening. When she saw that it was the sleazy-looking Fishman Priest Skeleton that had opened it, an embarrassed blush imdiately appeared on her face.

She quickly glanced left and right, bit her lip, and then squeezed through the doorway like a shadow with a WHOOSH.

As a Priest apprentice of the Holy Light System, if word got out that she had co to an Undead apprentice’s room in the middle of the night, her ntor, Master Lianna, would probably be angry enough to cough up blood.

In the living room, Lynch and she t each other’s gaze, falling into an awkward silence.

"Ahem, have a seat," Lynch said, breaking the silence.

Avril hurriedly sat on the sofa, perched on just the edge of the cushion. Her back was ramrod straight, and her little face was flushed red.

Seeing how awkward the atmosphere was, Lynch personally brewed a pot of tea, poured a cup, and handed it to her.

Avril accepted the hot tea, thanked him, and took a small sip. This seed to calm her down a little, and she gathered so courage to ask, "Senior, did... did you read the letter I gave you?"

"Ah, about that..."

Of course, Lynch hadn’t read the letter. He had just stuffed it directly into a drawer.

’But I imagine it was probably full of so girlish feelings,’ he thought.

In truth, Lynch had noticed that among the three girls, Lilith was sowhat clueless and Ophelia was open-minded, but this one, Avril, was the most difficult to deal with.

Lynch carefully considered his words and was just about to speak.

Suddenly, soone else vaulted into the courtyard.

Lynch saw through the Squirrel Skeleton’s eyes and thought, ’Oh, for crying out loud. Isn’t that Senior Amadis?’

’Why is she sneaking in like this too?’

"Ahem, soone’s here," Lynch whispered to Avril.

"Ah!"

Avril imdiately panicked and frantically looked around.

Spotting a large closet next to the living room, she rushed over, hastily opened the door, dove inside, and pulled it shut behind her.

This series of actions left Lynch dumbfounded.

’Wait... Why are you hiding? It’s not like we’re having an affair...’

KNOCK KNOCK!

Two soft knocks sounded at the door.

’Fine, whatever.’

Lynch, feeling a bit helpless, calmly put away Avril’s teacup and went to open the door himself.

Then, with a SWISH, Senior Amadis darted into the house like a phantom. Her long, purple hair brushed against Lynch’s nose, tickling it so much he almost sneezed.

Lynch paused, sowhat speechless.

’Senior, if you’re coming, just co. Is there any need to be so sneaky?’

He helplessly closed the door and turned to Amadis, who was looking around the living room. "Hello, Senior."

"You must be Lynch," Amadis said, sizing him up. "At the auction last ti, you didn’t get a chance to introduce yourself, but it had to be you, right?"

"Yes, Senior," Lynch admitted honestly, then thanked her sincerely. "Thank you for stepping in to help at the auction."

As he spoke, Lynch gestured for her to sit, grabbed a new cup, and poured her so tea.

Amadis took a sip of tea, her eyes fixed on Lynch. "Junior, thank you for what you did when Catherine ambushed ."

Lynch was actually a bit curious. "How did you recognize , Senior?"

Seeing him admit it, Amadis let out a huge sigh of relief. "A gut feeling, I guess. Mostly, I just really didn’t want my savior to be that dolt Calvin, or the sleazy Maurice..."

"Among the suspects, you were the easiest on the eyes. Besides, you wanted to buy the bone bracelet, which ans you must have a powerful Soul Fire unit you don’t want others to see, like... that Tier One Peak Black Corpse."

After confirming who her savior was, the way Amadis looked at Lynch clearly changed.

’Uh...’

This reminded Lynch of a joke.

’In ancient tis, if a woman was saved by an ugly man, she would promise to repay him in the next life as a horse or an ox. But if her savior was handso, she would promise to marry him...’

’Senior, she’s not thinking of doing the sa thing, is she?’

As their eyes t, Amadis was just about to say sothing more.

Suddenly, her brow furrowed slightly. "Soone’s coming."

She imdiately stood up, glanced around, and then, with lightning speed, hid in the closet.

What almost made Lynch’s eyes pop out of his head was that she had ducked into the very sa closet as Avril...

’The key thing is, why are you hiding?!’

’There’s nothing going on between us!’

But just then, there was another knock on the door.

Resigned, Lynch had no choice but to get up and open the door. He spoke respectfully to the person outside, "Welco, Master, to my humble student dormitory."

The visitor was, of course, Master Annabella.

She, at least, wasn’t sneaky. She walked in openly and gracefully, glanced around, and said, "This place of yours isn’t bad."

"Master, please have so tea." Lynch respectfully poured and served the tea, his movents smooth and fluid.

His face remained impassive, but inside, he was feeling a little uneasy.

’My master showing up in the middle of the night... she’s not here to take back the Death Banner, is she?’

’In any case, there’s no way I’m giving it back.’

’A treasure this good? I wouldn’t return it even if they beat to death.’

Fortunately, after Master Annabella sat down and took a sip of tea, she shot him an annoyed look as if she had read his mind. "Relax, you brat. That counterfeit Death Banner is yours to keep."

"Then, Master, your reason for coming today is..." Lynch’s heart settled slightly.

"First, I’m truly here to thank you for achieving such great results for the Undead System," Annabella said. "And second..."

Before she could finish, her expression suddenly changed. She lowered her voice and said, "Soone’s here. I’ll hide for a mont."

As she spoke, she glanced around and then, to Lynch’s utter astonishnt, scurried into the closet.

That’s right.

The very sa closet.

The corner of Lynch’s mouth twitched. ’Aren’t the three of you worried it’s a little crowded in there?’

TAP TAP!

A knock sounded at the door.

Helpless, Lynch went to open the door once again.

This ti, the person standing outside was the dean, wearing a monocle and a simple, unadorned robe.

"Dean, please co in."

Lynch’s attitude was extrely respectful.

"You rascal, you’ve really given a huge surprise."

The dean walked in, smiling as he spoke. But halfway inside, his gaze, from behind his monocle, suddenly flashed and he glanced at the closet.

Then, he shot Lynch a aningful look. "You rascal, you really have so of my flair from when I was young. I wasn’t wrong about you!"

"Uh..."

Lynch was at a loss for words.

"So, how about it? Have you considered changing your major? I can personally be your teacher," the dean said, his eyes burning with intensity.

"BANG!"

The closet door was kicked open, and an infuriated Master Annabella stord out.
