A few days later, Wang Hai invited them to dinner, and He Lang went with Xue Yue.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Wang Hai was already waiting at the entrance.
"Brother Wang, have you been waiting long?"

"Right away." The waiter took the order and stepped out.
He Lang joked, "Brother Wang, you co here often?"
Wang Hai sat down at an angle, crossing one leg over the other. He pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, opened it, and offered one to He Lang.
He Lang waved his hand. "You know , Brother Wang. I don’t smoke."
Wang Hai glanced at He Lang. "You’ve been trying to make it in Beijing City all these years, and you still haven’t picked it up?"
He Lang just smiled. "Nope. I don’t like the taste."
Wang Hai put a cigarette between his lips, lit it with a match, and took a deep drag. After blowing out a smoke ring, he finally said to He Lang, "This hotel belongs to my younger uncle. I’ve been here a few tis."
"How’s business? I should drop by your supermarket and take a look one of these days."
He Lang replied, "It’s not bad. Feel free to co by anyti. It’s in the East City District. Once you’re in the area, you can just ask around."

Wang Hai was silent for a mont. He didn’t seem angry, as if he had expected this.

He Lang lifted his cup and took a sip. Xue Yue let out a silent sigh of relief. ’I was so worried he would agree. This is the kind of thing you can never say yes to. During the al, Xue Yue ate quietly, listening to He Lang and Wang Hai talk. Then she heard He Lang bring up ng Ye.
Wang Hai said in surprise, "Oh, so you know her?"
He Lang smiled. "I know Brother Hua and have so business dealings with him. But my wife and ng Ye were schoolmates, and now they work at the sa company."
