When the two brothers went to the old family ho and saw He Nan’s injuries, they were absolutely furious.
He Lang said with a grim expression, "Dad, there are a lot of people in the Guo Family. Since we’re going to demand justice, we can’t go with too few people. I’ll go get my brother-in-law. He’s a great fighter."

Since both her husband and mother-in-law had said so, Gao Cuiyun glanced down at her stomach and relented. "Fine. I’ll stay and watch the house."
And so, the large group marched out of the village. Many people in Da Liushu Village ca up to ask what was happening.
Through her tears, Mrs. He told them everything the Guo Family had done.
"That’s outrageous! You absolutely have to go settle the score."
"Exactly. Not only did they not pay back the money, they beat soone up for it? What kind of awful people are they?"
The group consisted of the He family’s eldest uncle and aunt, He Zhen Guo and his wife, He Zhen Dong, Mr. and Mrs. He, the three He brothers, and Xue Yue. They passed through Yangjia Gou and picked up Xue Xingzhou.
Xue Xingzhou had already heard the gist of the situation from He Lang, but seeing such a large crowd, he had to purse his lips to keep from laughing.
He whispered to Xue Yue, "With this many people heading into a brawl, what are you going to do?"
Xue Yue shot her brother a sideways glance. "Who are you underestimating? I may not be able to beat a man, but I’m more than capable of handling won."
Xue Xingzhou chuckled and ruffled her hair. "You’re just a kid. When the fighting starts, make sure you stay far away."

’What is with this habit? Why does everyone, one after another, like to pat my head? It feels like I’m a puppy.’
When this procession arrived at Guo Jinfeng’s ho village, their passing caused a huge stir.
When they reached the Guo Family’s house, they found the main gate shut tight.
He Lang walked up and kicked it open.
The noise certainly startled the Guo Family inside.
When they ca out and saw how many people the He Family had brought, the Guo Family was stunned. Guo Jinfeng, in particular, saw what was happening and hurried over to He Nan.
"He Nan, why are you all here? What’s going on?"
He Nan gave her a complicated look and said nothing.
The mont Mrs. He saw Guo Jinfeng, she slapped her across the face.
"Mother," Guo Jinfeng said, clutching her face as she stared at Mrs. He in disbelief.
Mrs. He spat. "I’m not your mother. Your mother is over there. Since the day you married into our He Family, I don’t believe we have ever wronged you. My son has been completely devoted to you. But not only did you hide things from him and give all our family’s money to your parents, you then stood by and watched your own husband get beaten like this by your family! Where is your conscience? Has it been eaten by a dog?"
Guo Jinfeng wailed, "Mother, they’re my parents and my brothers! What was I supposed to do?"
Mrs. He kicked her aside. "Go to hell! If you couldn’t do anything, then you might as well be dead."
Guo Jinfeng collapsed to the ground, sobbing.
Guo Jinfeng’s mother, Wang Guihua, narrowed her beady eyes and said, "Jinfeng’s mother-in-law, you’ve got it all wrong. Our Jinfeng married into your family; she wasn’t sold to you. No matter where she is, she’s still a mber of the Guo Family. As for the son-in-law, everyone says a son-in-law is like half a son. Since he’s half a son, and he was speaking rudely and talking back to his elders, what’s wrong with having my own son teach him a little lesson?"
Mrs. He spat right at Wang Guihua. "Pah! You shaless old witch! Half a son? What, are your own sons dead? Let tell you, that is *my* son! You beat my son and thought you could just get away with it? I’m telling you, this is not over!"
"It’s not over? So what are you gonna do about it?" Guo Jinfeng’s second brother, Guo Erzhu, sneered arrogantly.
"This is what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna beat your ass." He Lang’s fist flew toward Guo Erzhu’s head.
Seeing Guo Erzhu get hit, Guo Dazhu charged forward as well.
"Son of a bitch!"
But He Zhendong and He Zhen Guo blocked his path. The two exchanged a look, then grabbed Guo Dazhu and started beating him.
When Guo Jinfeng’s father, Guo Fugui, saw both of his sons getting beaten, he couldn’t stand it. He shot his second daughter-in-law a aningful look and charged in, only to be kicked to the ground by He Ze.
Seeing Guo Fugui get taken down by He Ze, Wang Guihua shrieked, "My husband!"
Then she started screaming curses. "You goddamned bastards! Coming into my ho and beating people up! Is there no law anymore?! You think we’re easy targets, don’t you?! Let tell you, after doing this, not a single one of you is leaving today!"
Mrs. He lunged forward, grabbed Wang Guihua by the hair, and slapped her hard. "You old hag! Still trying to act tough, are you? I’ll rip that mouth of yours to shreds!"
"OW!"
The two won started wrestling on the ground.
Guo Dazhu’s wife rushed over to help her mother-in-law, but she was imdiately grabbed and beaten by the He family’s aunt and He Zhen Guo’s wife.
The courtyard descended into a chaotic brawl. Mr. He and the eldest uncle stood to one side, hands behind their backs, just watching. Xue Yue and her brother hadn’t joined in yet—not because they didn’t want to, but because there was simply no need. It was a complete rout.
This continued until Guo Erzhu’s wife managed to call over three other n. The mont they entered and saw mbers of the Guo Family beaten on the ground, they flew into a rage and charged.
Now, Xue Xingzhou finally had a reason to step in. Xue Yue, anwhile, went straight for Guo Erzhu’s wife.
He took on all three of them effortlessly. In monts, the n were all on the ground, clutching their stomachs and groaning. Xue Xingzhou dusted off his hands.
At the sa ti, Xue Yue had beaten Guo Erzhu’s wife to the point where she was cowering on the ground, crying her eyes out.
"Stop right there!"
Just then, a voice bood from outside the gate.
A group of people walked in, led by a man in his fifties.
He frowned, his eyes sweeping over the beaten mbers of the Guo Family on the ground. "Who are you people? Why have you co to our village to cause trouble for no reason and injure our people?"
Mr. He looked at him and asked, "You must be the village chief, correct?"
The man nodded.
Mr. He pointed to the mbers of the Guo Family. "My family is related to Guo Fugui’s by marriage. This is my son, He Nan. He married their daughter, Guo Jinfeng."
The village chief glanced at He Nan. "Ah, so you’re the Guo family’s in-laws. If you’re family, then what is all this commotion about?"
Mr. He snorted and pointed to He Nan. "Do you see my son’s injuries? The Guo Family borrowed 180 yuan from my daughter-in-law without my son even knowing. When he ca to their door to ask for it back, they beat him like this."
The village chief looked at Guo Fugui, who was still on the ground. Guo Fugui’s eyes darted away, unable to et his gaze.
