The Yao siblings hadn’t reacted yet when Uncle Feng had already entered the room.
Madam Yao was talking to her daughter-in-law, Ms. Kang, and furrowed her brows after hearing what Uncle Feng said.
At first, they were unfazed by soone coming to see Yao Tianqin; after all, ever since he beca the Minister of Public Works, visitors ca one after another. To avoid trouble, they generally found excuses not to receive guests.
When they heard from Uncle Feng that the visitor had brought gifts, they assud it was like before, so there was no surprise on their faces.

Until Uncle Feng ntioned that the young lady had encountered Mrs. Jing, the vice minister of the central judicial office, who took her away, did Madam Yao and her daughter-in-law beco montarily dazed.
"You an, that young lady knows Mrs. Jing?"

The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law exchanged a glance. Madam Yao pondered and asked him to describe the young lady’s appearance, thinking they might know her.
However, it was Ying Xi who approached Uncle Feng at the ti, with Shu Yu standing on the lower steps, sowhat distant, and with the Yao siblings coming out quickly, blocking most of the view, so Uncle Feng didn’t get a detailed look at Shu Yu.
He could only describe Ying Xi’s appearance.
But neither Madam Yao nor Ms. Kang knew Ying Xi, so they could only frown and shake their heads.
After a while, Madam Yao told Uncle Feng, "Be more careful. If that young lady cos again, inform us imdiately."
What a pity, Uncle Feng didn’t even get a chance to ask who the other party was.
Uncle Feng nodded and then withdrew, and as soon as he left, Ms. Kang couldn’t contain herself.
"Do those siblings really think this is their own house? They are guests themselves; what right do they have to act like the hosts? To drive away our guest like that, if we offend soone because of it, it becos our fault."
She furrowed her brows deeply. "Mother, when are they leaving?"
Madam Yao also wished they would leave soon but felt it was inappropriate to say so directly due to face concerns. Her husband, Lao Yao, had only recently been promoted, and if they were to cause a scene by driving the family’s younger generation out of the house, wouldn’t they be inviting criticism?
She could only rub her temples and say to Ms. Kang, "Let’s wait a bit longer."
Ms. Kang sighed and brought up the subject of this young lady again, "Mother, why don’t we have soone wait outside the Jing Residence, and if that young lady cos out, see who she is and what she wants with Father?"
Madam Yao thought it was a good idea and sent an old woman over.
The watched Shu Yu had already followed Madam Chang back to the Jing Residence by this ti.
Upon entering the courtyard, a girl aged twelve or thirteen approached, gently greeted, "Mother."
Madam Chang smiled and introduced her, "This is Lady Lu, visiting from Dongan Province."
She then pointed to the girl and said to Shu Yu, "This is my eldest daughter, Zhishan, Sister Shan."
After they t, Jing Zhishan said to Madam Chang, "Mother, please chat with Sister Lu for a while. I’ll go to the kitchen to give instructions; Sister Lu is staying for lunch, and we mustn’t neglect her."
Madam Chang smiled and waved her hand, "Go ahead."
Jing Zhishan gave a gentle curtsy and exited.
Shu Yu observed the interaction between this mother and daughter, noticing that it seed very harmonious.
Madam Chang was Lord Jing’s second wife, having married him seven years ago. The eldest daughter was obviously born of the first wife. However, her relationship with Madam Chang was good, and their interaction showed affection.
