Chapter 1609: Chapter 1609: Madam Li Is So Angry Her Chest Hurts
While they were talking, they walked toward the Lu family residence.
Those who went to see the sunflower fields hadn’t returned yet; when Shu Yu entered the house, she saw Madam Li and others busy working.
Upon seeing Madam Liang, Madam Li imdiately showed displeasure and raised her hand, indicating for her to co over and help with the work.
However, Madam Liang pretended not to see, and headed straight to the room to find the old lady.
The old lady was in Lanhua’s boudoir, sowhat curious, asking, “Where’s the girl from the Xu family? Why haven’t I seen her? I thought she’d be in the room keeping you company.”

She didn’t know how to tell the old lady, and that’s when Madam Liang ca in, imdiately pulling the old lady aside.
The latter looked impatient, “Third son’s wife, what are you doing?”
Madam Liang pulled her to a corner to whisper, having promised Shu Yu and Fan Zhong not to speak about it outside, but talking with family was different. Especially with the matriarch, Madam Liang would inform her of any occurrences first.
So she recounted the events that had just transpired in the sunflower field.
Of course, she didn’t dare ntion that Shu Yu had intentionally led people over there, nor did she dare tell Third Lu.
The old lady’s face darkened upon hearing it, “That Xu family’s girl… what on earth did she do? Really, utterly shaless.”
She was furious; first, because the girl was Lanhua’s friend and had ended up involved with Lanhua’s forr fiancé.
Secondly, she tried to sow discord between the Lu sisters, simply disgraceful.
Madam Liang, standing beside her, was also indignant, “Indeed, utterly shaless. Fortunately, Lanhua broke off with her, or else Lanhua and the Lu girl’s reputations would have been affected.”
The old lady pursed her lips tightly and said to Madam Liang, “Don’t ntion this to Lanhua for now. She’s getting married tomorrow; there’s already so much going on, and she’s nervous. Let’s not add to her worries. We’ll address it after the wedding.”
Madam Liang nodded repeatedly, “Don’t worry, Mother, I know what to do. I’m not like Sister-in-law.”

Just then, as if summoning him, Madam Li suddenly approached them, and seeing their secretive deanor, felt uneasy.
“Mother, third brother’s wife, what are you two whispering about? On Lanhua’s wedding day, what secrets can’t be discussed outside?”
The old lady glared at her, “What, do I need your permission to have a conversation?”
After saying that, she turned and left, and Madam Liang raised her chin provocatively at Madam Li before following her out.
Madam Li was furious, repeatedly telling herself not to be angry, not on a joyful day like today.
But she couldn’t hold it in and went to complain to her own mother and sister-in-law.
However, the Li family knew her personality and just appeased her with a few words, leaving Madam Li feeling a pain in her chest.
