When the first strike missed, ng Pei knew things were going bad.
He had to make the shocked Young Master He, who had just regained his senses, hide to the side.
However, the wolf chased after him. ng Pei, fighting across the iron bars, was restricted at every turn. It wouldn’t work like this; sooner or later, Young Master He wouldn’t hold out, and he would also draw the guards outside.
So ng Pei made a snap decision, letting Young Master He continue to scream. Using his screams and the roars of the beasts in the Beast Camp as cover, he swiftly chopped off the chains.
His sword cut through iron like mud; the chains were no problem for him.
As soon as the iron door opened, he dashed into the cage, pulling the endangered Young Master He to the side, avoiding the pouncing fierce wolf.
But in dodging, ng Pei couldn’t evade; the fierce wolf charged, slamming fiercely into his back. Caught off guard, he crashed into the iron bars.
Having been hungry for two days and tangled outside the cage for so long, ng Pei was exhausted. The impact banged his right hand against the cage, causing his sword to slip out of his hand and fall outside.
The fierce wolf was coming aggressively, leaving him no chance to retrieve it; he could only fight the wolf barehanded.
After several rounds, the wounds on his body worsened, and he even suffered internal injuries.
Fortunately, after Young Master He ca to his senses, he imdiately retrieved his sword. After ng Pei kicked the fierce wolf away, He threw the sword back to him.
With a weapon in hand, ng Pei endured the pain, switched the sword to his left hand, and pierced the open throat of the fierce wolf with a single stab, finally killing it.
Exhausted, ng Pei sat on the ground, recovering his breath for a while. But he still steadied himself, letting Young Master He help him, positioning the fallen fierce wolf as if it were lying naturally on the ground.
To prevent soone from coming over and noticing sothing wrong when they saw it lying down.
After everything was done, Young Master He helped ng Pei out of the cage, then hung the chain over, making it look as if it was locked again.
ng Pei had Young Master He scream a few more tis, pretending to be fatally mauled by the fierce wolf.
When the screaming gradually weakened, they completely stopped.
Originally, ng Pei wanted to try to rush out; now injured, it was definitely not feasible. He could only continue to hide in this Beast Camp and at least wait until he was in better shape to proceed.
Young Master He didn’t dare speak the whole ti, but fortunately, ng Pei had dicine for wounds with him. He helped bandage him up and gave him so water.
Afterward, the two huddled in a corner to rest.
Young Master He had just narrowly escaped death, his heart still trembling with fear, and with the continuous roars of wild beasts in his ears, he was practically curled up beside ng Pei.
But ng Pei needed to sleep; the night before, he had been searching for an exit in the secret passage and hadn’t slept at all, and last night only rested briefly. Now injured, if he didn’t rest, not to ntion saving Uncle ng, he couldn’t even ensure his own safety.
Although Young Master He was timid, he was at least a companion. Since he was too scared to sleep, he could just help keep watch for the night.
The two of them spent the night with one sleeping and the other cautiously watching the entrance.
By today, ng Pei felt sowhat better and decided not to wait any longer.
At noon, there was only one guard outside the gate.
Not to be missed, ng Pei crept up behind him, covered his mouth, slit his throat, and dragged him inside.
Then he changed into the guard’s clothes and left with his head lowered.
He didn’t let Young Master He follow; the latter had no martial arts skills and was unfamiliar with the place, which would only slow him down.
