The black market had already experienced a beast attack from the Beast Camp; to control these beasts, they had to use extre asures—blades, guns, swords, and halberds went into action. As a result, many of the beasts were killed or injured, and more than half were lost.
The Beast Camp was under the command of Second Fu, a cruel and bloodthirsty man with ruthless tactics. The beasts in the Beast Camp were all gathered by him, and in order to capture them alive, many of Second Fu’s n paid the price.
Later, these beasts were personally trained by Second Fu. If he returned and saw the condition of the Beast Camp, even Fifth Guo, with his high status, would likely face dire consequences.
Second Fu was currently in the capital, not at the black market, and Fifth Guo still had ti to figure out how to minimize the impact of this matter.
He even considered the idea of pushing Jiang Kuanyu into the spotlight to take the fall, but knowing how to execute this idea was quite a headache.
Who knew that before this idea could be implented, Xia Yi would run over to tell him that soone had infiltrated the Beast Camp and intended to repeat the sa tricks.
If the beasts were to break free again, it was uncertain whether the remaining people in the black market could withstand it, and the beasts would be endangered, too.
Fifth Guo’s face was extrely grim as he called to his three subordinates behind him, "Follow and let’s take a look."
The three imdiately responded affirmatively.
Just after a few steps, Fifth Guo turned around and squinted at Xia Yi, who stood still, "You, co with us."
Xia Yi imdiately waved her hands in panic, "Steward Guo, master, I’m scared, can I not go? I’ll stay in the cell myself."
Fifth Guo was uninterested in her excuses and instructed his subordinate to the left, "Bring her along."
Xia Yi stepped back two paces but was swiftly captured by the subordinate, who grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the cell pathway.
The Beast Camp was right next to it, and after exiting and turning a corner, they were there.
After the beasts were put back, five or six people remained inside the Beast Camp to handle the aftermath. They were carrying out the bodies, relocking the beast cages, and cleaning the floor.
The entrance hall hadn’t been tidied yet, but here they had to clean up first.
Seeing Fifth Guo co in, they turned around and greeted him hurriedly.
Fifth Guo scanned each of their faces and asked in a deep voice, "Did anyone see anything suspicious coming in just now?"
All five or six people were scattered in different positions, with two inside the Beast Camp unable to see Steward Guo at the mont; the remaining ones shook their heads, indicating they hadn’t seen anyone suspicious.
Fifth Guo then turned to look at Xia Yi, who showed a panicked expression and quickly said, "I swear I didn’t lie, I really saw soone co in, maybe, maybe he hid."
Fifth Guo squinted his eyes, "You better not be lying, or else, you’ll feed these beasts yourself."
Xia Yi shivered slightly and urgently spoke, "I swear, I indeed saw it."
Fifth Guo waved his hand, "Close the doors and search everywhere."
Those who were busy with cleanup had to prioritize the search instead.
Fifth Guo carefully examined both sides and even looked up at the beams, leading three subordinates and Xia Yi step by step towards the innermost part.
All around were the roars of beasts and the sound of them hitting the iron cages.
This noise successfully concealed a subtle, almost indistinguishable sound behind.
