The crowd gasped in shock when they saw the final item.

Collusion? County Magistrate Cheng colluding with mountain bandits?

They wanted to understand more clearly, but the notice had little content, just a brief ntion and then nothing more.

However, the people had too many doubts in their hearts, and seeing nothing on the notice, they went to ask the person guarding the door.

Standing not far away, Yuan Gui was cornered by their questions, retreating step by step, directly back inside the door.

Still, he raised his hand to calm them and said, "Everyone, please remain calm. We have obtained evidence of County Magistrate Cheng’s collusion with the mountain bandits. However, this matter is very involved, and the results are not out yet. We have already detained County Magistrate Cheng, and once the case is concluded, we will issue a notice to inform everyone of the details."

The crowd’s eyes widened upon hearing this. Evidence has been obtained?

That County Magistrate Cheng actually committed such a heinous act, prompting so to begin cursing, "That scoundrel, to think this scoundrel is in league with those vicious mountain bandits. No wonder the bandits haven’t been caught in the city for so many days."

"Yes, so many people’s houses in the town have been burned by the bandits, and so many have died unjust deaths. This corrupt official deserves no less."

"I just knew those bandits wouldn’t just target our county town without an insider."

"Aren’t the patrolling officers all gone, have they been arrested too?" soone asked Yuan Gui.

But before he could answer, soone else said, "Huh? The patrolling constables are colluding with the bandits too? It can’t be, Constable Pan near our ho is a good guy, there must be a mistake."

Yuan Gui thought he could go back after posting the notice, but now he really felt overwheld.

He could only reply, "Indeed, all the personnel handling the matters in the county office have been detained. As for whether they colluded with bandits, this will be investigated thoroughly. If it is proven that they were unaware and deceived, the authorities won’t wrong anyone, rest assured."

"Will you use torture to extract confessions?"

"So many people, not all could be bad, right?"

Doctor Mi stood outside the crowd, seeing Yuan Gui unable to leave, signaled that he would be leaving first.

Knowing the city was safe, Doctor Mi walked leisurely.

Seeing several shops open nearby, he went in to buy so things. With Granny Fang around these past two days, his als had improved a lot. He bought more so Granny Fang could cook his share too, saving the cost of lodging and als for her and Yuan Gui.

Doctor Mi was calculating things nicely, but he didn’t know Granny Fang was worried about not being able to leave the county town.

As soon as Doctor Mi left the clinic, Granny Fang sighed.

Shu Yu knew what was troubling her, "Granny, are you worried that the city gates won’t open and you won’t have enough money to spend here?"

Granny Fang was taken aback, then gave a bitter smile and nodded, "We’ve been here half a month already, and hasn’t everything cost money? If we can’t go back soon, our debt will only grow larger. Moreover, once Ah Gui’s injury heals, we can’t always stay in the clinic."

Granny Fang’s debts went beyond just Doctor Mi’s clinic; they also owed the family that lent them shelter before. Tis were tough for them as well, and with two more mouths to feed for over ten days, the food costs had to be paid, especially now with higher prices.

Unfortunately, they didn’t even have a chance to go out and earn money now.
