As soon as ng Pei entered, he told everyone behind him to lighten their footsteps.
He was the first to enter Uncle ng’s room, just as Uncle ng was waking up. Seeing ng Pei, Uncle ng couldn’t help but smile, "Brother, you’re here? Thank you for saving ."
"We’re family, why say such things? If I were in trouble, wouldn’t you help ?" ng Pei stepped forward, looking at his pale face, still feeling a bit distressed.
Uncle ng just smiled, "Brother, why did you co over at this ti? I heard from Shu Yu there’s a lot going on outside and you guys are so busy you barely have ti to rest, is everything done now?"
ng Pei pursed his lips and shook his head, "No, I just brought your family and Ms. Tao to see you."
Uncle ng was taken aback, "You..."
"Your wife’s family still thinks of you as a benefactor, getting you to risk your life for them. Everyone should see what Tao Feili has done to you, so their family doesn’t go to the escort agency causing a ruckus, making others think it’s your fault, saying you’re ungrateful."
Uncle ng gave a wry smile, "I don’t want to be involved with the Tao Family anymore."
"Then it’s perfect, use this chance to clean break once and for all."
With that, ng Pei opened the door, letting the people waiting at the door co in.
ng Han was the first to rush in, imdiately seeing Uncle ng’s miserable state, unable to hold back her tears.
"Dad..." She ran forward, standing by the bedside, reaching out her hand.
But halfway reaching, she pulled back, Uncle ng’s body was covered in bandages, ng Han didn’t dare touch him, afraid she might accidentally hurt him.
Uncle ng wanted to comfort her, raised his hand only to realize his fingers were wrapped in thick bandages too, quickly putting it down.
Yet this movent only made ng Han feel worse.
Her brother said her dad’s little finger was cut off, and the nails of all his ten fingers were pulled out.
Ten fingers are connected to the heart, her dad must be in great pain.
Uncle ng helplessly said, "Alright, alright, I’m fine, aren’t I?"
ng Han was so overwheld that she couldn’t speak.
After a long while, she finally wiped her tears and choked out, "Dad, if you want anything, please tell , I’ll do it for you."
"Okay, Dad won’t be polite with you."
ng Han sat by the bedside, seeing the lunchbox Shu Yu handed over, she quickly opened it and fed Uncle ng breakfast.
Ms. Tao stood blankly at the door, trembling as she looked at her husband who couldn’t be recognized.
Yet Uncle ng didn’t spare her a glance.
Ms. Tao finally couldn’t hold back, rushing inside, "My husband..."
Only halfway through, she was blocked by ng Pei, "Sister-in-law, ng Kuan is injured now, he can’t handle your crying."
Ms. Tao stopped abruptly, not daring to move forward, just looking at Uncle ng.
After Uncle ng swallowed the food ng Han fed him, he said to ng Pei, "Brother, let her co over. While I’m still in good spirits, there are things I want to clarify early."
ng Pei hesitated for a mont, put down his hand, letting Ms. Tao co over.
Ms. Tao walked unconsciously to the bedside, seeing Uncle ng’s appearance, tears finally spilled out.
"My husband, how did you beco like this?" Like ng Han, she didn’t dare touch him.
Standing far before, she didn’t feel such intense visual shock; now closer, she realized Uncle ng’s condition was worse than she imagined.
