Shu Yu nodded, “It’s a long story, I’ll explain later. Where’s Brother Daniu?”
Zhou Qiao replied hastily, “He went to the cloth shop to get supplies.” As she spoke, she furrowed her brows, muttering to herself, “According to the ti, he should have been back by now.”
She turned to the two and said, “He’s probably been delayed by sothing. Co in and take a seat first, I’ll pour you so water. I reckon he’ll be back shortly if we wait a bit longer.”
Getting supplies?
Shu Yu rembered that earlier on, in the courtyard of Liufang Alley, she indeed noticed that the fabric stocks in the sewing room were running low.
“Since he went to get supplies, he’ll probably take the fabrics directly to Liufang Alley later. Sister-in-law, let’s close up early today, go pick up Brother Daniu at the cloth shop, and head straight to Liufang Alley for dinner. Grandmother will surely be delighted to see you.”

Shu Yu had never experienced the situation of getting married and eting the other family’s parents, so she didn’t understand Zhou Qiao’s anxiousness.
