Chapter 903: Chapter 903: Piercing the Window Paper
Zhao Xi silently glanced at the drafty shed with only a roof over their heads, cursing under his breath.
To push us out here is one thing, but at least find a quiet place with a slightly better environnt and more privacy. Who in the world would confess to the girl he admires in a firewood shed???
He had barely opened his mouth when his mouth filled with dust. Sneezing, he imdiately slled the odor of mule dung beside him.
Simply… terrible.
But then he rembered that the entire Lu family was talking in the courtyard just outside the living room, and they would be seen whether they wanted to leave or enter the house. Thus, this firewood shed ironically beca their only option.
Zhao Xi cleared his throat and turned to Daya, saying, “Well, I’m twenty-one this year, two years older than you. My parents died in an accident when I was four, and it was my master who raised and taught dical skills. Over the years, my only family has been my master. I used to be a traveling doctor, and then I made a bet with Yun to follow him as an aide for a few years, but now that ti has passed. In the future, I plan to settle down and open a clinic to support my family.”
“However, I don’t have experience running a clinic. I plan to work as a Sitting Doctor in another clinic for a couple of years first. I currently have so money, I haven’t counted it exactly, but later when I go ho I will sort it out and tell you how much it is.”
Daya, at first stunned, hurriedly said, “Why, why are you telling all this?”
“Didn’t I say earlier? A clear understanding is necessary.”
Daya’s face blushed slightly as she hurriedly lowered her head.
She hadn’t noticed before, but just now when Zhao Xi heard soone introducing a suitor to her, his anxious deanor was hard for her not to overthink.
She was shocked by the thoughts in her mind at first, but by the ti she regained her senses, she heard him speaking at length.
Now that her suspicions were confird, Daya felt even more embarrassed.
Zhao Xi coughed lightly and continued, “I don’t have any bad habits, and I have a fairly good temper. You know, I’m a doctor, so I must naturally be patient, right? So you don’t need to worry.”
“Stop talking.”
Zhao Xi stopped then, seeing that Daya seed very nervous. He didn’t want to press her too hard for fear of alienating her and ruining things.
He scratched his head and said softly, “Well, I’ll stop talking then, you think about it properly, is that ok?”
He added at the end, “If there’s anything you want to know, you can ask .”
Daya was at a loss whether to nod or not.
In her heart, she wasn’t without affection for Zhao Xi. He was actually a very outstanding person, and having been in contact for so long, she couldn’t help but pay additional attention to him.
Not to ntion anything else, they had previously conspired to trap Mrs. Xue in a sack, creating a shared secret. Owning to such a subtle relationship, Daya would sotis feel complicated emotions.
But she never dared to think too much about it, crushing the thought as soon as it erged in her heart.
A divorced girl like her, how could she dare to have such extravagant hopes? To be ordinary friends was actually quite good.
Yet who knew, Zhao Xi had already harbored intentions long ago.
“Dinner’s ready.” Soone called out from the yard in the distance.
The two who were silently facing each other were suddenly startled, and Daya quickly said, “Alright, we better get out of here.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than she ran out of the firewood shed and ran into ng Yunzheng just around the corner.
