Jiang Kuanyu was startled. “Poisoned?”
Shu Yu nodded. “She probably ate so wild fruits or mushrooms while hiding in that grove because she was too hungry.”
Jiang Kuanyu recalled seeing so fruit pits scattered on the ground when he descended the steep slope.
Deep down, he felt sowhat fortunate. Thankfully, Monarch Lu Xiang ca over to buy the Manor and even proposed visiting the tenants’ hos. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have known Ms. Tang had already killed two people.
If they had discovered it late, they would not only have no idea where to look for the missing people, but they might have assud that Ms. Tang took Little Ya’er away—whether to sell her or harm her. They wouldn’t have been able to save her life so promptly.
