"I will return again. And when I do, I will devour that girl and you. I will corrupt the sapling of the World Tree and make sure that it forever disappears from this world."

"Are you done?" Reinhardt suddenly interrupted.

At this mont, the atmosphere around them had beco heavy and oppressive, to the point of being unbearable.

Reinhardt loathed; no, abhorred their kind. How could he simply stand around and listen to this bastard prattle on?

No, that was not his style.

The only reason he had stayed this long was that he was trying to pinpoint the position of this fellow.

The latter was trying to project its powers all around this spiritual space, spreading its presence. Even its voice ca from all around.

However, how could such paltry tricks elude his eyes?

Before long, Reinhardt had pinpointed the position where this bastard was hiding using his [Eyes of Divine Clarity].

Still, having to listen to this fellow go on and on had made his ears almost fall off.

Its words might have been able to affect others. However, who was Reinhardt?

With all those Divine Traits, his ntal fortitude was not sothing that could be shaken. At so point, Reinhardt even began ignoring it. Soon after, his lips curled into a faint smile.

He had found it.

The source.

The exact point where the corruption was leaking into this spiritual realm. A faint tear in the fabric of space, hidden deep underneath the web of roots.

"You’ve been talking so much... I almost fell asleep."

Reinhardt yawned exaggeratedly.

His actions imdiately caused the entity to shut up. For a mont, silence descended again.

Though not for long.

The corruption churned, and the voice of the entity bood again. Although it did not show any anger, it was clear that it was irritated by Reinhardt.

"Be arrogant while you can, human." The voice snorted. "When your holy field fades, I will be the last one laughing."

As if to show its intimidation, the corruption surged and tried to flood into the [Divine Sanctum], only to be repelled.

Seeing this scene, Reinhardt tilted his head. A playful smile appeared on his face.

"Is that so? Who told you that you would live that long?"

His golden eyes glead with a cold, ruthless light.

"I think you misunderstand sothing."

Saying that, Reinhardt stepped out of the [Divine Sanctum].

The entity was montarily stunned, then beca excited the next second.

"Hmph! I guess the long years have made you humans forget the fear of our kind. Very well then, I’ll show you how insignificant your existence is to us. Since you speak such big words, I’ll devour you first!"

The mont Reinhardt crossed the boundary, the darkness reacted violently.

Like starving wolves finally seeing exposed flesh, the corruption exploded from every direction and, like a tidal wave of dread and despair, tried to engulf Reinhardt.

However, just as it was a few ters away from reaching him, the tide stopped.

The scene looked as if soone had pressed the pause button.

Then, without even touching him, the darkness began disintegrating.

SSSSSSSSSS...

There was no resistance or fighting. The mont it ca near, it was disintegrated out of existence. White smoke drifted through the air like scattered mist, forming a sort of cloak around him.

This white smoke was made of countless tiny light particles and was nothing but a result of his Divine Mana leaking out.

Usually, Reinhardt suppressed his stats, especially his mana, from naturally leaking out of his body.

After all, if he did not do so, he would beco a sort of human torch and create disturbances wherever he went.

However, this ti, he made no effort to suppress his stats.

And the result was absolute.

Every strand of corruption that approached him vanished, erased before it could even touch him.

In the suffocating darkness of this corrupted world, Reinhardt stood like a blazing star.

A human sun.

The corruption recoiled violently in fear.

The scene caused the darkness to fall still, and for the first ti, a little apprehension appeared in the tone of the voice.

"What are you?"

Even in the ancient era, there had been no human like this.

One who could cause even him to feel a little fear.

The entity had assud that the Holy Field, the skill nad [Divine Sanctum], was the human’s trump card. His ultimate skill. A logical conclusion, after all, the skill was that absurdly powerful.

But that assumption could not have been more wrong.

Strong, yes. However, [Divine Sanctum] was just one of Reinhardt’s normal skills. What’s more, there were far more powerful skills than this in his arsenal.

As such, judging Reinhardt based only on [Divine Sanctum] had been a grave mistake.

The corruption shuddered.

Because in that mont, it finally realized sothing horrifying.

The human standing before it was not relying on the power of the Divine Sanctum to fight. He himself was power, the very embodint of divine force.

The parasite realized that it had made a grave mistake.

It should never have shown itself before this human.

However, it was too late.

Reinhardt moved, disappearing from his spot.

The next ti he appeared, he was already upon the tear in space.

Reinhardt extended his hands, breaking the tear open.

.

Far from Snowpoint City, and far from the spiritual space where the World Tree was growing, in so corner of the world, a devastating war the likes of which the continent of Valdonia had not seen since the Ancient Era was raging on.

A war of extinction.

The battlefield stretched across shattered plains marked with enormous craters and blackened earth.

Smoke rose in endless columns. Explosions thundered like collapsing mountains. Every second, a life would perish here, dying miserably until not even their bones remained.

Yet despite the cruel atmosphere of the battlefield, more and more lives stood in the place of the fallen in an attempt to stop the incoming party, disregarding their own lives.

That said, what made this battlefield truly strange was its participants.

Unlike the current battles in Valdonia, where humans fought against demons or mbers of their own race, the participants of this battlefield were different in that they were not just humans.

Humans, demi humans, and the living races of this world could be seen participating in this war.

Humans fought shoulder to shoulder with elves. Dwarves roared beside Cienthropes, and Therianthropes leapt across the battlefield.

Beastn, giants, and other rare races... beings most people would never see even once in their lifeti, were everywhere.

Usually, such races rarely gathered in the sa place, and even if they did, conflict from differences in interest was inevitable.

However, right now, they had all left behind their differences and fought as one.

A scene that could not be witnessed in the current day of Valdonia.

Yet such a scene was occurring in this place.

What’s more, for such unity to be shown by mbers of different races, it could be seen how hard pressed they were.

This begged the question: who were they fighting against?

Who could press all the races of the world until they had no choice but to stand united?

The answer was sothing else entirely.

WHIRRRR...

A loud chanical humming sound echoed across the battlefield.

Then, BANG...

From the smoke erged nurous towering silhouettes. They had unnatural forms and ca in all sizes and shapes.

When the dust cleared, their forms could finally be seen.

Constructs.

However, they were not just any ordinary constructs. They were far more sinister and advanced.

Their bodies resembled enormous beasts forged from black iron and bone like tal plates. So strode on four razor-jointed legs like monstrous predators. Others towered like titans with multiple rotating limbs.

Crimson light shone from what looked like their eye sockets, and dense demonic energy exuded from their exhaust pipes, painting the very land and sky dark.

It was not just their appearance that was extre, but their powers as well.

Every ti a massive construct slamd its clawed limb into the ground, the impact shattered the earth and hurled dozens of soldiers into the air.

Another opened its rib-like chest plates, revealing a core of swirling crimson energy. The core reached a critical threshold and then fired.

A beam of corrupted plasma tore across the battlefield, reducing an entire formation of warriors to ash.

It was not just the towering constructs, either. Even the smaller machines were no less life-threatening.

Swarms and swarms of spider-like drones crawled across the battlefield, devouring anything living. So machines flew through the sky, so strode through the ground, and others moved beneath it.

A hell on earth.

Against such an army, the united races fought with everything they had.

Each race contributed its own unique strength and technology to hold the fort. However, in the face of the chanical army of doom, it wasn’t enough.

For every construct they painstakingly destroyed, two more erged from the black horizon. It felt like the battlefield was drowning in steel and demonic energy.

And the Allied forces were losing.
