Eve nodded slowly, her mind already working through the implications, the strategies, the political calculations that Raphael had spent weeks teaching her.

Then she stopped.

Looked at herself...sitting in bed, thoroughly claid, wearing a sleep shirt, having a strategic political discussion about Court factions while three alpha wolves and her ancient incubus uncle treated it as perfectly normal.

She started laughing.

It began as a small sound, almost a giggle, then built into genuine, helpless laughter that shook her entire body and made her mates look at her with expressions ranging from confused to concerned.

"Eve?" Silas asked carefully. "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine," Eve gasped between laughs. "I’m just..." She gestured at the room, at the situation, at everything. "Four months ago I was a stripper living in a studio apartnt, trying to keep my mom alive, thinking my biggest problem was making rent. And now I’m sitting here with a glowing wolf paw print over my heart, discussing diplomatic strategy with my incubus uncle while my three alpha wolf mates who I’m apparently permanently bonded to are...."

She dissolved into laughter again.

"It’s absurd," she finally managed. "My entire life is completely, utterly absurd."

There was a beat of silence.

Damian’s lips twitched. "Absurd or not, it’s your life now."

"I know," Eve said, wiping tears from her eyes....happy tears, overwheld tears, the tears that ca from finally, fully processing the magnitude of everything that had changed. "I know it is. And I..." She looked at each of them. "I don’t want any other life. This absurd, impossible, completely insane life is exactly where I want to be."

The bond pulsed warmly, all three wolves responding to her words with fierce satisfaction and deep contentnt.

Raphael watched from his corner with the expression of soone who had been waiting to see exactly this....his niece finding not just power or position, but genuine joy in the life she’d been thrust into.

"Well then," he said, his voice warm with affection and approval. "Shall we discuss how to handle Ambassador Isadora? Since your absurd life is about to beco considerably more complicated."

Eve took a breath, let the laughter settle, and felt her mind shift into the strategic mode that Raphael’s training had been building. "Yes. Let’s talk strategy."

"First question," Damian said, his tactical mind already three steps ahead. "When do you want to et her? She’s expecting contact within twenty-four hours. We could arrange it for this afternoon if you’re feeling strong enough. Or we could wait....make her patient, see if that shifts the dynamic in our favor."

Eve considered. Her body was sore but functional. Her mind was clear—clearer than it had been in days, actually, the completed bond seeming to have sharpened her ntal processes along with everything else. And waiting would give other factions ti to arrive, to complicate the situation, to turn what could be a one-on-one diplomatic conversation into a political circus.

"This afternoon," she decided. "Early afternoon....gives ti to rest more, to eat properly, to prepare ntally. But soon enough that we maintain montum."

"Agreed," Raphael said. "Isadora will appreciate the promptness. It signals strength....that you recovered quickly from whatever happened, that you’re ready to engage imdiately."

"Where?" Silas asked. "Here at the estate? Neutral location? The hotel where she’s staying?"

"Here," Eve said firmly. "My territory. My space. She cos to , not the other way around. That establishes the hierarchy from the beginning."

Damian nodded approvingly. "My office or the formal sitting room?"

"Sitting room," Eve said. "The office is yours....using it would fra this as a pack matter. The sitting room is neutral estate space. Formal enough for diplomacy, comfortable enough that it doesn’t feel like a boardroom negotiation."

She looked at Raphael. "You should be present. I want Isadora to see from the first eting that I have family support....that I’m not a naive girl floundering alone but soone with resources and backing."

"And us?" Damon asked. "Do you want all three of us there, or does that make it look like you need protection?"

Eve considered the optics carefully. "Not all three. That does look defensive. But one of you.....Damian, probably, since he handled the initial border interaction. He can be present as...." She searched for the right framing. "....as host alpha. This is his territory that she’s been invited onto. His presence is appropriate and expected."

"Acceptable," Damian said.

"So the eting party is: , Damian, and Raphael," Eve summarized. "Formal diplomatic welco. One hour maximum, as Isadora suggested. I listen more than I speak in the first eting....gather information, assess her approach, don’t commit to anything."

She looked at Raphael. "What should I be listening for specifically?"

"How she fras Seraphine’s support," Raphael said imdiately. "Whether she positions it as freely given or as sothing that requires reciprocation. What she says about the other factions....whether she speaks of them as opponents or simply as different perspectives. And most importantly...." He leaned forward. "....watch for any language that suggests assumption of authority. Any phrasing that implies she or Seraphine will be making decisions for you rather than with you."

Eve nodded, filing this. "And my objectives for the eting?"

"Establish yourself as competent and confident," Raphael said. "Show her you understand Court politics well enough to navigate them. Be gracious about the Traditional faction’s support without being grateful in a way that suggests obligation. And...." He paused. "....let her see the mark."

Eve’s hand moved instinctively to her chest. "Deliberately?"

"Deliberately," Raphael confird. "The bonding mark is political information whether you like it or not. She’s going to be looking for it...looking for any evidence of what caused that power surge. If you hide it, you look ashad or uncertain. If you display it calmly....." He smiled slightly. ".....you make a statent. That you are claid, powerful, and completely secure in both facts."

"She’ll report it back to Seraphine," Damian said.

"Of course she will," Raphael agreed. "But better that than her reporting uncertainty or attempts at concealnt. The Court respects strength and clarity. Give them both."

Eve absorbed this, feeling the weight of the upcoming eting settle over her. Her first real diplomatic engagent with the Seraphim Court. The first test of everything Raphael had taught her about politics and strategy and navigating the deadly social waters of supernatural power structures.

"Okay," she said. "I can do this."

"You can," Raphael said with absolute certainty. "You’ve been preparing for exactly this. And you have advantages Isadora doesn’t expect...the bond, your training, your mates’ support. Use all of it."
