The week that followed was sohow both peaceful and electric with anticipation.

The Court was stable. Faction leaders had stopped filing complaints. The reform was proceeding smoothly. Pack life had settled into a comfortable rhythm of duties and monts stolen between responsibilities.

Eve found herself in the strange position of having space. Real space. Ti that wasn’t consud by political crisis or pack ergency or supernatural drama.

She spent the mornings in pack etings with Brynn, working through applicant reviews, addressing small territorial disputes, strengthening the Luna frawork. The work was fulfilling in ways she hadn’t expected. Helping pack mbers find solutions, watching hierarchies stabilize, seeing community strengthen.

The afternoons were sotis hers. Sotis she’d join the training yard, sotis she’d read in the library, sotis she’d just exist without agenda.

And the nights....the nights were for her mates.

But sothing was changing.

Damian had started painting her almost daily.

Short sessions, long sessions, painting her while she slept, painting her while she read, painting her while she existed in various states of undress.

The first ti he’d asked her to pose completely naked for extended periods, Eve had expected it to be awkward. Instead, it had been intimate in a way sex sotis wasn’t.

Just him watching. Just her being seen.

By day five, she understood that this wasn’t about creating art for external consumption. This was about Damian processing sothing internal. Each painting was slightly different, capturing her in different moods, different states, different manifestations of who she was.

"What are you trying to figure out?" Eve asked one afternoon, posing on a chair while he worked.

Damian didn’t look up from the canvas. "How to keep you safe without destroying myself trying."

"And the paintings help?"

"They remind that you’re complete even when you’re not with . That you don’t need to be guarded every second to exist. That you have power in yourself that doesn’t depend on my protection." He added a shadow to the canvas. "Every ti I paint you, it makes it a little easier to let you go."

But the letting go wasn’t happening entirely smoothly.

Eve noticed it in small ways. How Damian’s hand would clench when she ntioned needing to visit the village for pack business. How his eyes would track her constantly when she was in the sa room. How he’d position himself between her and the door, physically blocking her exit without seeming to realize it.

Kane was still agitated, still possessive, still struggling against the constraints of Damian’s rational mind.

Damon and Silas watched carefully but didn’t interfere. They understood this was sothing Damian needed to work through on his own terms.

On day seven, the painting sessions changed.

Eve was posing as usual....naked on the velvet chair in Damian’s studio, when he set down his brush and just looked at her.

"I need to touch you," he said. "While you’re still posed. Is that okay?"

"Of course," Eve said, understanding imdiately that this was important.

Damian moved to her, his hands gentle but possessive. He traced her collarbone. Followed the line of her spine. Cupped her breast carefully, like he was reassuring himself of her solidity.

His mouth found her shoulder, and he breathed her in.

"You sll like ho," he said against her skin. "Like safety. Like everything good."

His hand slid down her body, between her legs, and Eve gasped at the sudden intimacy.

"Can I?" he asked, his fingers already touching but waiting for full permission.

"Yes."

He worked her slowly, carefully, his touch reverent. All while she was still posed on the chair, completely exposed, unable to hide from his gaze.

The orgasm that rolled through her was intense and grounding....the pleasure of being seen, being touched, being known so completely.

When it faded, Damian was kissing her neck, her shoulder, her collarbone.

"Now let paint you," he said roughly. "Like this. Just after. Completely satisfied. Completely mine."

He moved back to the canvas, and his brush moved with frantic precision. Capturing her in this state...flushed, breathless, marked by his touch.

By the ti he finished, Eve was amazed that it was still the sa painting style. Still beautiful. Still her.

But now it was her with the mark of his claim visible on her skin.

That night, all three of her mates ca to bed with unusual tension.

Damian pulled her against his chest. Damon wrapped around her from behind. Silas curled up against her side.

It was like they were physically surrounding her, keeping her contained, keeping her safe.

"What’s happening?" Eve asked quietly.

"Kane’s getting more agitated," Damon said from behind her. "We had a talk with Damian today. About boundaries. About what’s healthy and what’s crossing into unhealthy territory."

"He didn’t tell ," Eve said.

"He didn’t know how to," Silas said gently. "He’s fighting his wolf. Fighting the need to keep you locked away. Fighting the fear that sothing will happen to you if you’re not under his complete control."

Eve felt sympathy wash through her. "What did you decide?"

"That we let Damian work through this his way," Damian said...the first words he’d spoken since pulling her close. "The painting helps. But it’s not enough. Kane needs more. Needs to know that I can let you go and you’ll still choose to co back."

"I will always co back," Eve said simply.

"I know." Damian’s arms tightened slightly. "But I need to practice believing it. Practice letting you exist without my constant surveillance."

Eve rolled over to face him in the darkness. "What do you need from ?"

"Just be patient with . With Kane. We’re trying to find balance." His hand found her face. "And maybe... let have control in other ways. Ways that don’t involve actual restriction."

"Like what?" Eve asked, though she suspected she already knew.

"Like letting claim you," Damian said quietly. "Really claim you. Completely. Marking you in ways that remind ....and Kane—that you’re ours."

"Okay," Eve said. "Whatever you need."
