"I’m sorry Scarlett." Coral apologized to her eyes teary as the little boat began to sail into the big blue sea. "I didn’t an to push you. I was just playing."

I swallowed wondering if she ant it for real.

She had done it before.

Apologizing and still being bitter towards .

And then she held my small hands. "You’re my twin sister. I don’t think anything should co in between us. Please."

My heart lted almost instantly.

She threw her hands around and hugged while I absorbed the warmth.

"It’s okay Coral. I forgive you." I said as I rubbed her back.

She smiled at once she let go.

Nanny Rachel sat watching us like a hawk looking at chicks for dinner.

"Your majesties." She said. "I do hope you have no intentions on doing anything naughty."

I shook my head.

She didn’t seem convinced. Not in the least. The monthly fishing expeditions we had co to learn were us getting accustod to the Sea and its inhabitants.

The Sirens.

We began watching after the little fishes in the sea as we began to draw into the river.

Lucas steered and Rachel warned us to stay put.

I liked Rachel, very much.

And I knew how exhausting we were to her sotis.

"Stay away from the edge Princess Coral!" Rachel warned.

Coral rolled her eyes when Rachel couldn’t see her.

"She is such a party pooper." Coral said mischievously.

I chuckled.

A few minutes later, Coral whispered to my ears. "Co co look!"

Before I could stop her, she was at the bow of the boat leaning.

To prevent her from hurting herself I hurried after.

Rachel was discussing with Lucas and didn’t notice.

"Coral we aren’t supposed to be here." I said as I pulled her arm.

"But Scarlet look at that." Coral said in awe.

I was already here wasn’t I?

I looked down at the river.

But I couldn’t see anything.

"I can’t see anything." I said.

"Look closer!" Coral insisted.

I looked down a bit more and tried to see what she was talking about.

I still couldn’t find anything.

I was about to raise my head when my eyes caught sothing a bit into the distance.

A small head inside the water with blue skin and white hair.

It was a female siren and she seed around my age.

We had seen sirens but they mostly liked to keep to themselves.

I doubted Coral had seen her.

I smiled at her and she smiled back waving at .

"Yes Coral I just-

And then I felt a gash at the back of my head and everything went dark.

MARINA’S POV

It was that ti of the month when the twin princesses would co to the river on their usual finishing expedition.

About four months ago I had been playing around the surface with a friend of mine when I had seen the two of them.

Since then, they had fascinated .

They were always present on the exact sa day.

And today had been no different, except, one of the girls had seen .

The kind one and the one from all I had heard was the future Queen.

We were in very close tied with the wolves, but I still wasn’t allowed to simply go out to shore.

If my mother ever knew, I was going to be in trouble.

"Scarlett!" I heard the other sister call out and I watched the both of them head towards the edge of the boat.

It was fascinating looking at them.

How I wished we beca friends.

And then Scarlett saw .

When she did, she paused and so did I.

I was about to run back in and hide.

But then I saw a genuine smile spring across her face and I relaxed.

I slowly raised my head back up and waved at her.

And then to my horror, I saw her sister carrying a large rock behind her and before I could stop the horror, she had smashes the back of Scarlett’s head with it.

Scarlett gasped and fell over into the water.

Instantly I jumped in, thankfully, it didn’t seem like she had seen .

With my perfect tail, I was at the edge of the boat in a matter of seconds.

I grabbed Scarlett in my arms.

The red ink emitting from her head, floated in the water.

She wasn’t conscious.

At that mont I heard screams and shouting.

"Rachel Scarlet fell!" The wicked twin cried.

"What?! OH MY GOD!" The nanny scread.

"Scarlett!" A male voice said.

I considered taking her back up to them, but I knew that if they saw the cash behind her head, they would think I had attacked her.

Not just that, if her own identical twin can carry a rock and smash her sister’s head then only the gods knew what she would do if she survived.

She wasn’t safe.

"Stay with Coral" A male voice said.

I heard a splash in the water and with her in my arms, I hurriedly swam away.

What I didn’t know, was that a fragnt of the jewel in her necklace had broken and fallen into the water.

I swam away at the fastest my tail and fins could take .

As a siren my tail swam almost as fast as lighting.

But I was still growing so I didn’t get to that point.

But I swam fast regardless.

I couldn’t take her back ho to the sea, they would return her back to her ho where I knew was going to be dangerous.

So I swam away and in a matter of minutes, I was at the shores of a beach I didn’t know.

I placed her against the beach sand and went over her trying to take out the water.

But it didn’t seem to be enough.

The gash at the back of her head seed to have done so much damage.

The blood was still rushing and she wasn’t healing.

I began to panic wondering what to do.

My mind racing.

My breath beating extrely fast.

And then she stopped breathing.

I placed my head against her chest and I found out she was dead.
