Chapter 142: You wanted to train you, right?

Valentina shifted her attention toward Seraphina before giving her a faint nod.

“He’s a vampire now…”

Her eyes slowly moved toward Lucian.

“… and a truly unique one at that,” she muttered afterwards, a small smile curling across her lips.

Hearing those final words from her mother, Vivienne instantly frowned.

She had already sensed it earlier, but hearing her mother specifically emphasise the word made it feel even more obvious… as though Lucian had gained sothing different after turning into a vampire, sothing unnatural.

And judging by Valentina’s expression, she already seed to know sothing about it.

Vivienne’s eyes shifted toward her again.

“Mother, what do you an by unique?”

Valentina looked toward her daughter for a brief second, then shrugged lightly.

“Who knows…”

Of course, those words didn’t lessen Vivienne’s curiosity in the slightest. She could clearly tell her mother was lying.

Especially the faint yet visible twitch at the corner of Valentina’s lips, and the way she kept looking at Lucian—as though she was barely resisting the urge to snatch him away and lock him up beside her forever.

All of that only confird it further.

Her frown deepened, making her inwardly grumble about the mystery her mother was hiding.

anwhile, both Seraphina and Lia slowly turned their attention toward Lucian as well, because throughout the entire conversation, he had remained strangely silent.

He sat quietly between them with an unreadable expression on his face, absentmindedly staring into the empty air.

What none of them knew was that Lucian was actually staring at the translucent screen floating before his vision while only half-listening to their conversation in the background.

Honestly, he could say that not much had changed… but at the sa ti, he could also say that far too much had changed within his status window.

His stats had risen once again, and not by a small amount either. Every attribute had increased by a decent margin.

Even now, he could physically feel the difference within his body—the strength coursing through his muscles and the overwhelming vitality flowing through him.

And the most absurd thing of all was that… he had already reached C Rank, sothing he had never imagined was possible within such a short span of ti.

Not long ago, he had rely been an ordinary human struggling to survive, and now he had reached a level that most awakened individuals would spend years trying to attain.

But even that wasn’t the biggest change. His talent—sothing he had always heard could only reach the highest rank of SSS—had changed to Transcendent.

Lucian had already seen the Transcendent rank once before in Vivienne’s status window as well, and considering her monstrous strength, it clearly ant the rank stood above SSS.

Which was both sowhat obvious… and completely absurd at the sa ti.

But even then, none of it compared to his race.

He… had beco a Progenitor of vampires.

At first, Lucian didn’t understand what that word truly ant, because he had never heard it before in his life.

But in that exact mont, the answer ca to him naturally, almost as though the knowledge itself had been engraved into his blood.

‘The father… the first of the vampires. The one standing above the entire race.’

“Dear…?”

Lucian’s thoughts abruptly halted the mont he heard his mother’s soft voice beside him.

Instantly, the translucent screen flickered away from his vision, and he turned his head toward Seraphina, who was once again looking at him with a worried gaze.

“Are you fine?” she asked softly once more, even though she had already asked him the sa question after waking up earlier.

But she genuinely couldn’t help herself.

Just a few minutes ago, her son had told her everything was fine, and then in the very next mont, he had been pinning Lia against a wall… biting into her neck.

Nothing about these past few days felt normal anymore.

Lucian’s expression softened slightly seeing the worry in her eyes.

“Yes, Mom.”

He answered gently with a small smile.

“I was just hungry. Nothing else.” The casualness in his tone almost stunned her completely.

Lia’s ears instantly turned bright red, almost matching the few crimson strands within her hair.

She imdiately looked away from Lucian again, though her eyes still kept darting back toward him every few seconds.

Even now, she still hadn’t properly spoken after what had happened earlier in the corridor, and every ti she rembered it, her body began heating up again. Her thighs pressed against each other.

“What were you blanking out about for so long?” Vivienne suddenly interrupted from her seat.

Lucian shifted his gaze toward her, then—

“I was just wondering about your powers,” he said calmly, making her confused by his reply.

But before she could ask further, he added with a small smile.

“Your power to annoy people just by your words.”

The entire room froze.

Vivienne’s expression stiffened instantly, and everyone else was surprised too.

For one brief second, absolute silence filled the room.

Then suddenly, Vivienne’s eyes glowed sharply as a violent heat spread throughout the room, the temperature rapidly rising around her.

Even Seraphina and Lia imdiately began feeling sweat forming across their bodies from the sudden heat radiating from Vivienne

But rather than faltering back, Lucian’s own crimson eyes glowed faintly as well.

“What, angry now?”

A sharp smile crept across his face, making Vivienne feel even more irritated and angry.

Yet suddenly, her expression faintly froze as she felt sothing invisible pressing down upon her body.

At first, confusion flickered through her eyes, but within a single second, every vampire within the room felt it as well.

Bloodline Suppression.

The atmosphere instantly beca heavier, denser—as though sothing superior was standing before them.

Vivienne’s eyes narrowed sharply.

‘He… how..?’

The question instantly surfaced within her mind, and instead of fear, she only felt even more irritated at herself for hesitating because of a newborn—at allowing him to affect her this much.

Yes, he had clearly gained sothing abnormal after drinking Lia’s blood, or perhaps even before that—maybe from the very mont he beca a vampire.

Maybe he even possessed a talent surpassing hers, as impossible as that sounded.

But… Vivienne did not give a fuck about any of that.

Her eyes shifted as well, glowing crimson as she resisted the suppression and instead released her own bloodline pressure against him.

The atmosphere between them beca even more suffocating.

Then suddenly—

“B–Br—haa…”

A weak, struggling voice suddenly echoed out beside them.

Lucian’s head instantly snapped toward Lia, and the mont he saw her struggling to breathe, the crimson glow within his eyes disappeared imdiately.

The oppressive pressure flooding the room vanished completely in an instant.

“Lia… are you fine?” Lucian asked softly, instantly closing the distance between them.

“Are you hurt?” The concern in his voice beca heavier as he leaned closer toward her.

“F-Fine… I am fine…” Lia muttered weakly through her uneven breaths.

By sitting directly beside him, the Bloodline Suppression had been affecting her the most.

And unlike Valentina, Vivienne, or even Kanna—who were all high-ranked vampires—she was still weak. The pressure had fallen directly upon her, making it difficult even to remain seated.

Lucian’s expression remained tense for several more seconds before finally easing slightly. Then he gave a small nod and softly patted her head.

“Sorry about that,” he muttered honestly.

Lia nodded, imdiately lowering her head even further the mont she felt his hand touch her hair.

Her fingers tightened slightly over her lap, and she quietly bit her lip, desperately trying to suppress the emotions swelling inside her chest from such a simple gesture.

Seraphina slowly turned her gaze away from them and toward Vivienne, the redhead who was inwardly seething while glaring at her son with irritation burning in her eyes.

Seraphina’s own eyes narrowed slightly, though she remained silent, knowing there was nothing she could do.

Just looking at Vivienne made it obvious that she was soone far beyond Seraphina’s own standing.

And despite the tension between Lucian and Vivienne, it didn’t entirely feel like they truly hated each other, at least… not completely.

She herself hadn’t felt anything from the earlier Bloodline Suppression either, mostly because she was human—an entirely different race. Though even she had sensed a strange yet faint strange pressure coming from both of them.

A brief mont of silence lingered, until suddenly—

“Lucian.”

A voice suddenly echoed out, low yet carrying a strange weight that naturally drew everyone’s attention instantly.

All of them turned toward Valentina, and the mont they saw her expression, a shiver ran down their spines.

Her eyes looked almost maniacal, glowing crimson as they remained fixed entirely on Lucian alone.

“My disciple… you wanted to train you, right?”

Her voice echoed through the massive room.

For a brief mont, Lucian was genuinely stunned. He could feel her gaze fixed solely on him, as though no one else inside that chamber even existed.

And strangely enough, a small part of him actually felt happy about that.

Still, he answered simply.

“Yes.”

The mont those words left his mouth—

Valentina’s lips slowly curled upward into a smile that almost looked sadistic, instantly causing Vivienne and Kanna to faintly shiver.

anwhile, Lia and Seraphina only frowned in confusion.

But before any of them could say anything—

“Then let’s see… if you are capable of handling it.”

The instant those words left her lips—

Both Lucian and Valentina vanished from their places simultaneously.
