Chapter 144: The Beginning of Hell

“Uughh…!”

Lucian instantly covered his mouth with one hand, his body slightly bent forward.

The world spun violently around him, and his vision blurred as a powerful wave of dizziness slamd into his head from the sudden movent.

His body swayed slightly, and for a brief mont, he genuinely thought he was going to vomit.

Though that wasn’t really possible, as there was nothing in his stomach to spill out in the first place.

The nauseating sensation lingered for several seconds before slowly easing.

His vision slightly stabilized as he straightened himself.

Slowly, he raised his head, only to see that he was currently sowhere else entirely.

The luxurious mansion hall he had been sitting in, the elegant walls, and the polished floors—everything had disappeared.

In their place stood sothing entirely different.

He was now standing in a place that could only be described as… a forest.

Though even that description felt sowhat inaccurate, as it didn’t look exactly like a forest.

Different dark-colored trees towered around him, stretching endlessly in every direction. So possessed massive trunks that dwarfed everything around them, while others stood beneath them with a more ordinary thickness.

Their bark was much darker in colour, and even their leaves were not green.

None of them looked even remotely similar to the trees found on Earth—which was hardly surprising given the difference between Earth’s natural day-night cycle and Bloodveil’s eternal night sky.

None of the trees looked anything like those found on Earth, and all of them appeared strange… almost monstrous.

“…”

Lucian remained silent. The more he observed his surroundings, the more surreal everything felt.

“Settled yourself?”

Hearing a sudden familiar voice, Lucian imdiately turned his head sideways… only to freeze montarily.

Valentina stood several ters away, her posture unchanged, carrying that sa confident stride. She wore tight-fitting black clothing that clung to her body, designed for perfect mobility yet shaping itself seamlessly to her form.

Lucian had already known she was more beautiful than almost every woman on Earth, but even so, seeing her like this made it impossible to deny that fact.

The fabric perfectly emphasized her curves, her slender waist, and her wide hips, while her mature aura seed to radiate outward along with an overwhelming presence that made it difficult for even the strongest wills to look at her for more than a few seconds.

And most of all…

Lucian’s eyes montarily dropped for a split second before he quickly corrected himself.

Yup, there was no denying it—she had the biggest assets he had ever seen.

For a second, he frowned inwardly, feeling his hidden emotions surface far too easily.

Yes, he had seen her before, but now he felt far more aware of her figure, as though his previous control over his emotions had begun to slip.

Maybe it was because of his Scarlett—

“Are you done?”

Valentina’s neutral voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

A dangerous smile crept onto her lips, though she did nothing, noticing that his gaze did not linger on her body for too long.

Lucian didn’t know it, but had he kept his eyes on her for more than a second longer, his head would already be rolling on the ground.

Unknown to her internal thoughts, Lucian slowly nodded. He then glanced around for a second before looking back at her.

“How did we get here?” he asked in confusion.

Just a minute ago, he had been sitting on the couch with Lia and Seraphina beside him, and in the next mont—

He was standing in an unknown jungle, not even realizing when they had moved from that place.

“I brought you here. To train.”

Lucian’s lips twitched slightly, because what she had done could be called kidnapping rather than “bringing” him here.

But then, upon hearing her next sentence, his eyes imdiately lit up.

Seeing the anticipation in his face, Valentina nodded inwardly, feeling satisfied at his attitude.

“But first… tell sothing,” she said abruptly.

Slowly, she began walking toward him, her movents controlled yet naturally seductive.

“How did your fight against my daughter go?”

The sudden question caught him off guard, causing his expression to briefly still. But then he quickly shook his head.

“Terrible. I couldn’t land a single hit on her despite so many of my attempts.”

He sounded slightly irritated by his own words.

Valentina blinked a few tis, then a soft chuckle escaped her.

“Let correct my question. I ant, what did you learn from the fight?”

She almost felt ridiculous hearing him say he couldn’t fight against her daughter.

Of course he couldn’t.

The difference between their ranks was absurd—disastrous. And even if both of them had been of the sa rank, Lucian would have still lost.

Terribly.

Not because of his lack of talent or determination.

But because Valentina herself had personally trained her daughter, forging her and embedding those skills through blood and intense training—training that would have been enough to break most normal people apart.

Lucian didn’t think about the ridiculousness in her tone.

His mind instead drifted back to the one-sided fight against Vivienne.

“I guess I did learn a few things from her.”

He muttered softly, the words slipping out barely as a whisper, yet still clearly audible to Valentina.

The fight had been terrible, pathetic… maybe even humiliating.

And yet—throughout that sa pathetic fight—he had gained a few skills because of her.

[Charm]

The skill powerful enough to even montarily stun the Scarlett Princess.

[Mist Form]

Though he hadn’t properly used it yet, nor had he fully seen how it worked, he was very excited to learn it just after seeing its description.

[Fla Manipulation]

A basic yet fundantal control over flas—created the mont he first genuinely used his Fire affinity after the completion of their stupid 30-minute bet.

Valentina saw his thoughtful expression but didn’t ask about his findings. She would find herself in a short training ti anyway.

Lucian’s gaze slowly shifted toward Valentina, who had moved closer. Now she stood right in front of him, looking him up and down with a scrutinizing look.

“Remove his clothes,” Valentina muttered quietly, as though ordering soone, her gaze fixed on the suit covering his body.

Lucian was montarily confused, but before he could even process her words, the shadows beneath Valentina’s feet stirred slightly.

Then, as though sothing alive were responding to her will, they stretched outward—darting toward him with unnatural speed.

Lucian didn’t even have a second to react—or rather, there was nothing he could react to.

Even before he could understand anything, the shadows had already retreated back, calmly settling beneath Valentina’s feet once again.

Then, feeling cold air brush against his body, Lucian lowered his head, only to notice that he was now wearing nothing but black boxers.

He froze, not because of the embarrassnt of being almost naked, but because—

He sighed in frustration, pushing the thought aside, no longer wanting to dwell on his weakness again and again.

Valentina did not care about what he was feeling.

She instantly closed the distance without any hesitation before he could even react properly—

She pressed her hand against his body, making Lucian stiffen again.

Feeling her soft fingers touch his chest, a heat rushed through his body, along with a small reaction beneath his boxers.

But he imdiately gritted his teeth.

He couldn’t believe himself right now, getting aroused over every small thing.

Inwardly, he bit his lip until the taste of blood lingered on his tongue, making him settle slightly.

He looked at Valentina, who was right in front of him, grabbing his arm and pressing against his skin, feeling his muscles—almost like a doctor examining him and checking for so problem.

Lucian was curious about what she was trying to do, but he decided to stay silent despite the annoying reactions of his body, as her hands ran over almost all of him, tracing over his firm muscles.

After less than a minute, she finally withdrew her hand, causing a silent breath to escape him.

“Your muscles are almost unused,” Valentina muttered, more to herself than to him.

Her words imdiately caused Lucian to frown slightly.

“Did you even train properly for even a day?”

The question hit him harder than expected.

His expression tightened instantly.

“I did.”

Lucian imdiately answered, feeling his ego take a hit.

He had trained his body until it burned with exhaustion, and now she was asking if he had even done anything?

“I’m not talking about the basic pushups, pullups, cardio, etc.,” she said in a flat tone, already assuming what he would say from his expression.

“Do you think that is how a vampire trains their body?” Her eyes narrowed slightly.

Lucian’s lips twitched.

“…Did you expect to know how a vampire trains his body?”

Valentina blinked once.

“Oh…”

She genuinely looked like she had just rembered that he was a newborn—soone who had turned into a vampire after living his entire life as a human.

“Whatever,” she added casually.

Lucian’s lips twitched again, but in the next instant—

Valentina moved.

Lucian didn’t even register it—she had already appeared in front of him in less than a split second.

Her face was close to his, and a wide smile stretched across her lips.

For a mont, he was genuinely confused, but then—

His head suddenly lowered as he felt sothing weird.

“Cough…!!!”

A violent cough tore out of him, and blood spilled from his mouth, splattering downward.

For a fraction of a second, his body didn’t even understand what had happened—and when it finally did—

His blood ran cold.

Valentina’s pale hand was inside his chest, tearing through flesh without him even noticing a thing.
