That night, Qin Muni was once again sleepless.
After taking a few sleeping pills and finally falling asleep, she unexpectedly had a sensual dream.
In the dream, it was the night she and Xu Yisen got married. She had waited for this mont for eight long years, and when the wedding day finally arrived, she couldn’t wait to rush back to the room, shed the heavy wedding dress, turn off the lights, and unhesitatingly pounce on Xu Yisen.
And then... they consummated the marriage.
When she jolted awake from the dream, she stared blankly at the ceiling above, taking forever to regain her senses.
When she finally did, an inexplicable sense of loss coursed through her, as if deep down she didn’t really want to wake up from that dream.
Qin Muni thought to herself that she is now a divorced woman, yet here she was dreaming of being intimate with her ex-husband. It’s really quite shaless. Perhaps she really has been single for too long and is feeling a bit lonely?
Not having slept well, Qin Muni was not in a great ntal state. When she arrived at the restaurant, Deputy Manager Dong Chujun noticed her sowhat pale complexion and assud she was still recovering from drinking too much the night before. He suggested, "Boss, you should go take a break in the office."
Qin Muni made herself a cup of coffee, glanced up at Dong Chujun’s concerned eyes, and said with a smile, "Okay, thank you for your hard work."
She patted Dong Chujun on the shoulder and returned to the office with her coffee in hand.
The morning passed in a daze, and it wasn’t until close to break ti that Dong Chujun ca into the office to inform her that Xu Yisen had co for a al, which finally snapped her out of her muddled thoughts.
The restaurant opens at 10:30 every day, with a break from 2:30 to 5:00 in the afternoon, and regular hours from 5:00 to 9:00. After 9:00, the kitchen closes and no new orders or guests are accepted, but custors who arrive before 9:00 can stay until 9:30.
Xu Yisen arrived at the restaurant just before 2:30, and Dong Chujun ca to ask if Qin Muni wanted to receive him.
"Yes, make sure he is well taken care of."
"Okay, I’ll head out then."
"Alright."
Not long after Dong Chujun left, the door to the office was knocked again.
Qin Muni was playing with her phone, browsing through social dia, and said without looking up, "Co in."
The door was opened and then gently closed, and then she heard soft footsteps approaching.
The sound of the footsteps was too familiar. She suddenly lifted her head and t a pair of smiling eyes.
Qin Muni stared at Xu Yisen, her mind suddenly flooded with images she had just managed to suppress, now quickly resurfacing.
After a long pause, she finally stamred, "Why... why are you here?"
Xu Yisen slightly raised the shopping bag in his hand, "Your partner ca to save your feet."
As he finished speaking, he stepped around the desk and walked to the other side, gently spinning Qin Muni’s office chair to face him.
Qin Muni slightly tilted her head up, dazedly watching him as he took out a shoebox from the shopping bag and opened the lid, revealing a pair of black Manolo Blahnik flats inside.
Xu Yisen knelt on one knee, placed the shoebox on the floor, and gently removed her high heels.
He placed the high heels beside the shoebox and took out the flats, considerately helping her put them on.
Xu Yisen remained kneeling, looking slightly up at Qin Muni, who was sitting in the office chair.
His obsidian eyes shone as he gazed at her, casting a splendid ripple of elegance.
