He disregarded his still weak body, swiftly pulled off the quilt, got out of bed, and left the room.
As soon as he stepped out, a gentle lody of piano drifted slowly into his ears.
In this quiet night, the piano music seed especially lodious and captivating.
Xu Yisen followed the sound, his steps halting at the doorway of the music room, he paused at the entrance of the room and gazed through the slightly ajar door at Qin Muni playing the piano inside.
Her seaweed-like long hair was as smooth and soft as black silk, shimring with a gentle glow under the crystal light.
Her face, with gentle features, exuded a subtle tranquility, her red lips curved slightly, crafting a smile akin to a clear spring in springti, elegant and serene.
The light above cast a faint halo over her graceful figure, unconsciously radiating a touch of untouchable nobility around her, truly elegant and beautiful to the point of leaving one spellbound.
Perhaps Xu Yisen’s gaze was too intense, when Qin Muni felt his eyes upon her, her hands paused, and the gentle piano music abruptly stopped.
Xu Yisen pushed open the slightly ajar door and walked into the music room.
Qin Muni stood up, and t his deep gaze; his eyes were like black jewels, exquisite and beautiful, at this mont, they were filled with deep and profound emotions, making her inexplicably a bit at a loss.
"Why aren’t you lying in bed?"
The last note had just fallen when Xu Yisen stopped before her, extending his large hand, gently grasping her arm, and lightly pulled her into his embrace.
Qin Muni was caught off guard, bumping into his broad chest, her cheek pressed against his chest, his steady and strong heartbeat transmitted into Qin Muni’s ears through a thin layer of fabric.
"What’s going on?"
His sudden emotion and action made Qin Muni sowhat perplexed.
Xu Yisen tightly held the petite woman in his arms, afraid she would escape if he loosened his grip.
He did not imdiately answer Qin Muni’s question but after a long while, assuring himself this was reality and he had not lost her, he gently parted his lips: "Had a nightmare."
Qin Muni attempted to push him away, but Xu Yisen’s hold was exceedingly overbearing, his embrace enveloping her like an impenetrable net, with no gap for escape.
Sensing her resistance, Xu Yisen softly said: "Don’t move, let hold you for a while. Just for a while."
His magnetic, hoarse voice was tinged with a hint of weakness and a subtle plea.
Seeing resistance being ineffective, Qin Muni could only lower her hand, softly comforting: "You’re awake now, it’s alright."
Her voice, light as flower talk, gently brushed over Xu Yisen’s troubled heart, instantly calming all anxiety and fear.
"Mm."
Qin Muni did not know how long Xu Yisen held her, when he released her, his hands still rested on her shoulders, narrowing the distance, he lowered his eyes and stared at Qin Muni.
"I really want to kiss you, but I’m afraid of passing my cold to you."
He seriously uttered such a shaless statent, which truly left Qin Muni amused and helpless.
Then he spoke again: "When the cold is gone, I’ll make up for it later."
As he said this, he slightly raised his right hand, affectionately stroking Qin Muni’s head.
Qin Muni swatted away his hand from her shoulders, pouting disdainfully, "Stop being shaless, are you hungry?"
"Mm, hungry."
"What do you want to eat?"
"Porridge."
"Then wait a bit, I’ll go make porridge."
