Xu Yisen shook his head, took out his phone from the pocket of his suit pants, and called another secretary, Wang Ruoran, instructing her to postpone or cancel all today’s schedules.
"If it’s inconvenient, I can drive myself."
Xu Yisen hung up the phone, put it back in his pocket, and replied gently, "It’s been a while since I went out for a stroll, taking a day off wouldn’t hurt."
The seemingly calm words actually firmly expressed his decision to cancel today’s plans to accompany Munni to Old Student Lane for breakfast.
"Hm, that’s good as well."
The car drove for an hour before reaching Rongyun Town, and along the way, the two chatted intermittently, the atmosphere quite relaxed.
Old Student Lane doesn’t have a parking lot, so the driver stopped in front of Old Student Lane. After Munni and Xu Yisen got out, he drove off to find parking.
Munni, familiar with the way, weaved through Old Student Lane and finally stopped in front of a fish ball shop.
Xu Yisen followed closely by her side and entered the small fish ball shop with her.
Inside the fish ball shop were five tables and a few benches. Spotting an empty table in the corner, Munni hurried over to claim it.
As soon as they sat down, the apron-wearing landlady ca over to serve them.
"Auntie, I’d like a bowl of fish balls, please."
The landlady nodded, looked Munni up and down for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled, "Mun... Mun..."
Trying twice but still unable to recall Munni’s full na.
Munni chuckled and reminded, "Munni."
The landlady nodded excitedly, "Right, right, little Munni, long ti no see. That boyfriend who always ca with you before? Haven’t seen him in a long ti either."
"Senior went abroad."
"No wonder. Oh, by the way, I’ve been seeing you in the news a lot recently, heard you got divorced?"
"Yes, just got divorced."
"I thought that boyfriend of yours before was quite nice. Is he married? If not, why don’t you get back together with him?"
As soon as the landlady finished speaking, a light coughing sound was heard nearby.
Only then did she notice a man sitting across from Munni. She looked over at Xu Yisen, staring at him for a few seconds before realizing who he was.
She chuckled awkwardly and didn’t continue catching up with Munni, asking, "Sir, what would you like to order?"
"One serving of fish balls, please."
"Alright, please wait a mont."
As soon as the landlady left, Munni heard Xu Yisen ask casually, "Do you co here often?"
What he actually wanted to ask was... do you often co here with your senior?
Munni nodded and answered frankly, "Yes, I used to co here more often in college."
Xu Yisen paused for a few seconds, suppressing a sudden surge of bitterness in his heart, then spoke nonchalantly, "Looks like the food is really tasty, then."
"Mm."
In no ti, the landlady brought the two bowls of fish balls they had just ordered.
Having not tasted her favorite fish balls for a long ti, Munni was quite satisfied after the al.
As they walked out of the fish ball shop, she felt in high spirits and wanted to take Xu Yisen to visit a few antique shops nearby.
"There’s an art shop at the end of the lane; maybe we can find a good painting to give to Uncle."
Munni rembered that Xu Yisen’s father, Xu Haotian, liked collecting paintings and thought that since they were in Old Student Lane, they might find a few good pieces to give to Xu Haotian as a collection.
Xu Yisen glanced at Munni, who was leading the way by his side. Her smile was genuine and dazzling, like brilliant starlight against the night sky—remarkably beautiful.
He suddenly felt an urge to hold her hand.
The next mont, he slowly reached out his hand, wanting to touch Munni’s hand. Just as their hands were about to et, Munni suddenly pointed excitedly ahead.
"It’s right there."
