As they walked into the lobby, Xia Yuge’s interview had just ended, and she ca downstairs with the host.
Qin Muni intended to ignore Xia Yuge and proceed to the dining table to eat with the employees.
However, Xia Yuge, standing on the staircase, beca a bit excited upon seeing Qin Muni and called out her na, "Munni."
Qin Muni paused her steps, turned around, and nodded towards her still on the steps, "Hmm."
"I happened to be here today for an interview to promote my newly released novel. I’m so glad to see you." Xia Yuge’s face, adorned with exquisite makeup, bead with a seemingly genuine delight at seeing Qin Muni.
Qin Muni quickly glanced at the Voice Magazine journalist who had co down the stairs with Xia Yuge and stood in front of her, fully aware that Xia Yuge was putting on an act by showing such enthusiasm towards her for the sake of appearances.
"Is that so? Congratulations on publishing your first novel." Qin Muni’s smile was gentle and captivating. She turned her gaze to the journalist and asked, "Could you step aside for a mont? I have sothing to say to Yu Ge alone."
The journalist had long heard of the discord between the two, but judging by this scene, they seed to get along quite well?
Upon hearing Qin Muni’s request, the journalist nodded hurriedly and thanked Xia Yuge, "Thank you for the interview. I’ll head upstairs to see if the other employees have things in order."
Xia Yuge nodded, "Hmm, thank you for your hard work."
Once the journalist was upstairs and out of sight, Qin Muni turned her amused gaze towards Xia Yuge, "I heard you gave each employee in the store a signed copy of your novel today?"
"Yes, you don’t have to thank ."
Qin Muni nodded and, with a confused expression, asked, "Did you think I don’t provide the employees with toilet paper, so you gave them those? Such thoughtfulness, but why not give them sothing of better quality?"
She unapologetically degraded Xia Yuge’s novel to toilet paper, and of the worst kind at that.
Xia Yuge, picking up on the underlying insult, briefly flashed a malevolent expression on her face. She glanced at the staircase to ensure no magazine employees were around before taking a few steps forward and aggressively approaching Qin Muni.
She slightly leaned in and quietly whispered into Qin Muni’s ear, "Munni, when I’m good to you, just accept it. Don’t regret it when you’re in trouble later."
Her tone was as sinister as a sudden cold breeze sweeping through a deep ravine, filled with unspeakable malice.
After speaking, she stepped back a few paces to put so distance between herself and Qin Muni. Her exquisitely made-up face bore a gentle and radiant smile, yet the coldness in her eyes was devoid of any warmth, rely sending a chilling shiver.
Qin Muni wasn’t intimidated by Xia Yuge’s imposing manner. She slightly curved her lips, smiling playfully, with a hint of intrigue, "What can I do? I don’t care for your kindness."
"Then don’t bla if I’m not nice to you in the future." She said nonchalantly, finishing with a light, mocking laugh before stepping past Qin Muni with elegant strides and leaving.
Qin Muni turned back to the dining table and ate with the employees, utterly unbothered by Xia Yuge’s earlier warning to her.
Xia Yuge’s new book wasn’t set to be officially released until two days later, but she had given advance copies to the employees at Qin Muni’s store.
