The look was really like a lost child from their parents, making him find it sowhat amusing.
He reached out, gently wrapped his arm around Munni’s waist, and supported her as they continued walking forward.
"Did you just return from Rongyun Town today?"
"Yeah, how do you know?"
They reached in front of the elevator, and Xu Yisen cautiously glanced at Munni and answered without changing his expression, "I guessed."
Of course, he wouldn’t tell Munni that he had been calling her the past few days but couldn’t reach her, so he went by her house several tis.
Each ti he rang the bell, no one answered, so he guessed she hadn’t returned from Rongyun Town yet.
Munni was now in a drunken state and wasn’t in the mood to ponder whether his words were true or false; she just nodded nonchalantly.
Xu Yisen helped Munni into the elevator, and out of the corner of his eye saw the hazy drunkenness between her brows. He curiously asked again, "Why did you drink so much today?"
"I haven’t seen Senior for a long ti, I’m happy."
Before Xu Yisen could respond, Munni already parted her lips, mumbling, "Over three years ago when we got married, I brazenly invited him many tis, but he still didn’t co. He actually flew abroad a week before the wedding and hasn’t co back once in three years to visit. Truly heartless."
Hearing Munni’s disgruntled complaint, a quick glint flashed through Xu Yisen’s deep eyes.
Munni had known Yuan Chengmo for many years, yet Xu Yisen had only seen him once, which was a week before the wedding, on the night before he went abroad.
He had a few drinks with friends at the bar, and when he ca ho it was already past eleven, but he unexpectedly saw a strange figure standing at the doorstep.
When the other saw him, he lifted the corners of his lips into a faint smile and introduced himself proactively, "I’m Munni’s senior, Yuan Chengmo."
Xu Yisen slightly raised his eyebrows, expressionlessly stared at Yuan Chengmo, and asked, "Anything?"
"Yes, there is."
Yuan Chengmo nodded, lifted his long leg, and stepped in front of Xu Yisen, collecting the playful smile on his face. He earnestly and persistently gazed at Xu Yisen, standing opposite, and opened his thin lips to say each word with great gravity and sincerity, "I hope you will treat her well."
Xu Yisen was slightly taken aback; he caught a faint scent of alcohol from Yuan Chengmo, guessing that he must have had a drink as well.
Seeing Xu Yisen just slightly frown but not respond, Yuan Chengmo suddenly chuckled softly, "If you don’t treat her well, I will co back and take her away."
His seemingly calm words did not hide his affection for Munni at all.
"Mr. Yuan, don’t overstep your bounds."
As he spoke, a cool voice leapt from his throat, laced with a slight,faint sarcasm.
Yuan Chengmo’s behavior was so childish, expressing his admiration for Munni in front of her fiancé; this could very likely cause a conflict between Munni and Xu Yisen.
However, Yuan Chengmo was oblivious and continued, "Treat her well; she’s a very outstanding woman."
After speaking, he didn’t wait for Xu Yisen’s response and stepped past him to leave.
When Xu Yisen ca back to his senses, he heard Munni beside him mumbling, "After my father passed away, I always felt a sense of helplessness, but now that Senior is back, it feels like I have a pillar of support again. It’s really nice."
From her words, it was not hard to hear her trust and reliance on Yuan Chengmo.
Xu Yisen inexplicably felt a bit jealous; after the elevator arrived, he helped Munni exit while responding, "Don’t you still have ?"
