"Nangong Yang, look, my friend’s clothing store," Xiao Fang ran over holding her phone to show her the photos she took, "There are so many nice clothes, shall we go and check it out after work?"
"I have sothing to do at noon, how about in the afternoon?"
"Huh? In the afternoon? I have plans in the afternoon, a friend of mine opened a Taekwondo Academy and it’s the grand opening today, I need to go congratulate them."
"Who congratulates in the evening?" This Xiao Fang is sothing else!
"He invited us to dinner in the evening, I sent flowers over in the morning."
Speaking of the Taekwondo Academy, it seems like a long ti since she last went there...
It’s already been a week since Huang Puchen went abroad, and during that ti she endures daily bragging from Li Hua and the pressure from Minister Li.
"Nangong Yang? Is the monthly summary for Jiahua not ready yet?" Minister Li ca in heading straight for Nangong Yang.
"It’s ready." Nangong Yang rummaged through a mountain of materials and handed it to him.
Since Huang Puchen left, her work hours changed from leaving at five in the afternoon to eleven at night. It’s not that she loves her job this much, but because Minister Li would always schedule a task for her right at closing ti that needed to be used the next day. She was forced into it, and this feeling was becoming more and more oppressive.
Finally, today she didn’t have to work overti. Watching the clock hand point to five o’clock, she fled the office like avoiding a plague.
Walking in the streets, taking in deep breaths of air bathed in the sunset, her mood buoyed with excitent, she hurried toward the place she agreed to et Han Wanwan.
"...Ouch!"
Who on earth has no eyes!
"Oh, isn’t this our Nangong Yang? If Aunt Zhang saw you hopping and skipping around like this, she’d probably be furious again, right?" Li Hua, with her hands crossed in front of her chest, snorted from her nose.
"You bumped into !"
"A delicate woman like bumping into you should be the one in pain, right?" Li Hua still held a haughty deanor, her eyes almost angled out to three miles away!
"Really? I’m also very delicate, you know?" Instantly, Nangong Yang’s tone beca coy and sweet like a little bird; it was just as well that Han Wanwan wasn’t here, or hearing this might have made her hurl. After speaking, goosebumps ran over her.
Li Hua gave Nangong Yang a fierce glare but said nothing, standing there watching her, her eyelids fluttering like she was scheming sothing.
Seeing her remain silent, being watched gave Nangong Yang the chills. Unable to bear it anymore, she turned to leave.
"Hey, I’m not finished talking yet! And you want to go?"
"I don’t respond to ’hey’!" Nangong Yang stopped, turned around, and glared at her. She’s been holding this in for a long ti!
"Oh, oh, oh, still angry?" Li Hua said as she took out her phone.
"Hello? Huang Puchen? How are things over there... how’s grandpa... take good care of yourself... okay... I will..." Finished with a aningful glance at , she turned and left.
Nangong Yang stood there for a while, having seen through Li Hua’s little tricks; she hadn’t called anyone, deliberately acting in front of . This wasn’t the first ti, otherwise how could it be such a coincidence that every ti we et, she’d be on the phone! Li Hua, Li Hua, can’t you be more attentive!
Actually, she didn’t want to stay there for so long either. When she first turned around, she was a bit too reckless and twisted her hip a little. Once she recovered, she swayed her waist, clearly needing to get more exercise.
Nangong Yang is not the type who can keep secrets, much less after being oppressed for so long. Although Li Hua’s provocations were ignored, the occasional jab still irked her!
"Slow down with the eating!" Han Wanwan watched Nangong Yang stuffed full, "Hungry ghost reborn or what? It’s just Li Hua!? Are you afraid of her?"
"I’m not afraid! It’s just the dissatisfaction with work! It’s so frustrating!"
"I saw an ad for a part-ti Taekwondo instructor, do you want to try it out? You could blow off so steam, and look at this, you’re gaining weight." Han Wanwan said with a disdainful look.
"A part-ti job? I can give it a try."
As far as I rember, Xiao Fang ntioned his friend opened a Taekwondo Academy. I really want a dojo of my own!
After dinner, upon parting with Han Wanwan, she hurried back ho because she had promised to video call Huang Puchen, and the ti was almost up.
In a rush back ho, Huang Puchen was already waiting at the computer, and seeing Huang Puchen in the video felt like a hint of happiness etched between his brows.
"Dear, so sorry, I had dinner with Han Wanwan today, have you been waiting long?"
"Not at all, I just turned on the computer." Huang Puchen replied with a smile.
"When are you coming back?"
"Soon, how about you? How’s everything going? Are you getting bullied?"
"Who would dare bully ?" Too underestimated, right? Am I soone who keeps it in?!
"Haha, I know you’re the best," When did Huang Puchen learn to tease?
"You seem really happy, huh? What’s got you so thrilled?" It’s been ages since she’s seen Huang Puchen so happy, or perhaps she’s never seen him like this!
How little she understands her boyfriend!
"I told my grandpa about us." Huang Puchen suddenly spoke seriously.
"And then?" Grandpa wouldn’t be disappointed in this impulsive girl, would he?
"Grandpa was really happy?" Huang Puchen flashed a big smile.
"Really! You scared to death!"
"Haha, by the way, grandpa said he wants to see you?"
"But I’m not prepared yet!"
"Wow, when did my girl beco shy?" Huang Puchen glanced to the side now and then.
"What are you looking at?"
"Grandpa is coming, hold on a mont."
"Ah? Wait! I’m not ready!" She hasn’t even dressed properly yet! eting grandpa like this was way too informal!
"Hello?" A kindly elder with white hair appearing on the screen, with a face full of warmth, unlike the cold and ruthless Chairman Zhang.
"Hello, Grandpa, I’m Nangong Yang." eting for the first ti, she felt slightly constrained, sitting as straight as ever, never having been so serious even during school.
"Hey, no need to be so stiff, relax, grandpa’s not a tiger, no need to be afraid. From what Huang Puchen has told , I quite like your personality, very much like soone from the Huangpu Family!"
Said until she couldn’t help but feel shy, Nangong Yang’s face slightly flushed. After chatting with grandpa for a bit, estimating his age was up there, he was hurried off by Huang Puchen to go rest. Watching the grandparent and grandchild on the screen, you could feel the harmony.
Though not much was exchanged with grandpa, it all felt very cordial, reminding her of her own grandfather whom she hadn’t seen in ages, leading her to start feeling hosick.
Grandpa was nothing like Chairman Zhang, impossible to link them together; doesn’t everyone say you can’t tell a family apart, how co the difference is so vast?
"What are you thinking about?" Huang Puchen returned to his seat in front of the video.
"Nothing much, just feeling a bit hosick."
"It’s almost holiday ti, why not go back ho?"
"Ti’s too short, let’s wait for the New Year together."
