234: Chapter 0234: A Thorny Case 234: Chapter 0234: A Thorny Case Lin Yingying heard so noise inside and was too scared to continue showering.

She rinsed off hastily, wrapped herself in a towel, grabbed her cellphone, and ca out of the bathroom, calling out to Long Fei, “Long Fei, what happened?”

Long Fei turned around with his cellphone in hand, his body covered in fresh blood.

Lin Yingying was so frightened that she staggered back two steps with a gasp, nearly scared to death by him.

Long Fei cracked a smile and said, “I’m fine, this is soone else’s blood!”

“Blood?”

Lin Yingying felt sweat bead on her forehead as she trembled and stepped forward, spotting the dead body on the ground instantly.

“A dead body!

You’ve killed soone!”

Lin Yingying scread and shrank back, retreating further as her teeth began to chatter.

After all, she was a woman, and the sight of blood all over the ground was terrifying.

Long Fei ignored her and searched the assassin’s body.

Besides a dagger and a handgun, there was also a photograph.

The photo was of Lin Yingying, with her ho address written on the back.

Beyond that, there was nothing else.

He examined the assassin’s body and found a tattoo of a skull pattern on the back of his neck.

Was this tattoo a unique mark of an assassin?

The assassin’s technique had just displayed was unmistakably professional.

If it had been an ordinary person, they would have been dead in one strike.

Even if the stabbing didn’t kill, given the assassin’s speed in drawing a gun, they would have died under the muzzle.

Lin Yingying forced herself to calm down and asked Long Fei, “Who is this person?”

“He seems to be an assassin!”

Long Fei replied.

He took out his cellphone and called Ding Xue.

Such matters were best handled by the police.

After all, besides murder, it was not sothing that could be concealed and not reported.

Outside, the sound of police sirens quickly approached.

Miss Ding Xue, since arresting the drug lord’s boss last ti, had been exceptionally assigned to the criminal investigation team.

As soon as Long Fei called, she imdiately brought people over.

Lin Yingying, now dressed in a skirt, still couldn’t help trembling as she sat on the couch.

No matter how tough she acted in the business world, when her life was at stake, she reacted like any ordinary woman.

As soon as Ding Xue entered the door with her team, Lin Yingying hurriedly embraced her.

Ding Xue patted her comfortingly and glanced at Long Fei, wondering when they started living together.

Lin Yingying had just finished her shower, and her hair was still wet!

The scene inevitably led to wild thoughts!

The forensic team took photos at the cri scene and quickly carried the body away.

Long Fei and Lin Yingying were also taken to the police station, where they recorded their statents separately in the interrogation rooms.

A life had been lost, and the station took it very seriously, forming a special case team overnight to investigate the matter.

The key figures related to this case were two people.

One was the president of Lin’s Group, and the other was the young man who had just made an appearance in Binhai City during the day.

The young man who had treated Elder Shen.

In the official circles, word spreads quickly, and news was exceptionally well communicated.

Everyone had their own channels for gathering information, and by now, Long Fei was sowhat of a celebrity.

Lin Yingying was quickly cleared of any wrongdoing.

At the ti of the cri, she was bathing, and she wasn’t the one who committed the murder.

She sat with Ding Xue in the reception room, looking worried and said, “Long Fei won’t get in trouble, will he?”

Ding Xue shook her head, “Don’t worry, we won’t wrong a good person, nor will we let a bad person go.

That guy, you should know, definitely isn’t a bad person.”

“But he killed soone!”

Lin Yingying was still worried.

Ding Xue said, “That’s called self-defense, the person who ca was likely an assassin.

Killing him won’t be a problem.”

“Let’s hope so,”

Lin Yingying drank her tea, still with a face full of lingering fears.

Ding Xue asked her, “Have you angered anyone recently?”

The assassin’s pocket contained a photo; the target was clearly Lin Yingying.

Lin Yingying leaned on the table, with a bitter face, “Quite a few, the pervert we dealt with together, Young Master Wuu.

And there’s my second uncle and his brother-in-law, Zheng Tuo.”

She had sorted out her thoughts on the way here.

Those were the three she could think of now.

Ding Xue took note, patted her on the shoulder, and said, “Sit tight for a bit, I’ll go dig up so information for you.”

Lin Yingying, scared, said, “You’re leaving?”

Ding Xue smiled, “Big CEO, be brave.

This is a police station, even the worst criminals wouldn’t dare to kill soone here.”

Lin Yingying nodded and, after Ding Xue left, she laid her head on the table and sullenly drank her tea.

After being back for so long, this was the first ti she faced life and death so directly.

If Long Fei hadn’t been there today, she probably would have t King Yama by now.

No matter what, she had to protect Long Fei.

Lin Yingying took out her phone and contacted the company’s lawyer, asking him to co over imdiately.

In the conference room, the special case team gathered all the clues collected from every source.

Director Wei Dongming sat in the room, smoking, personally overseeing the operation.

It was one in the morning, five hours since the incident occurred.

“Has the victim’s identity been confird?”

Wei Dongming asked.

A police officer reported, “We’re still investigating.

By using facial recognition on the victim, we haven’t found any information in our database.

There are two possibilities: either he has no household registration, or he’s from abroad.”

“What about the food delivery uniform on him and the delivery scooter outside?”

Wei Dongming took a drag of his cigarette, his frown deepening.

Another officer reported, “We’ve contacted the food delivery company; they said one of their couriers was absent without leave today and isn’t answering his phone.

We’ve sent soone to his residence to investigate; we should have news soon.”

“Soon, soon, five hours and this is all you’ve got for ?”

Wei Dongming swept his gaze over the officers present.

The group hung their heads.

He asked, “Is there any clarification on the gun and the dagger?

What models, and where did they co from?”

An officer reported, “The gun is a Browning series produced by the Remington Company of Arica, with a silencer attached.

There were twelve bullets inside, one used.

No bullet traces are found at the scene.

We’re still investigating the gun’s origin.”

Wei Dongming’s hand trembled slightly, “Are you saying the victim had already fired the gun?”

“Possibly!”

The officer didn’t dare to be definitive, as the investigation was not yet clear.

“Always ‘possibly’.

Is there anything you’re sure about?”

Wei Dongming was getting angry.

The officers swallowed, and one reported, “Director, the cause of the victim’s death is certain.

It was a one-hit kill, with a dagger thrust into his throat.

It first severed the carotid artery and then penetrated the cervical vertebrae, causing the victim to suffocate instantaneously.”

“How is that possible?”

The officers exchanged glances, all wearing expressions of surprise.

Penetrating the throat was understandable, but piercing through the cervical vertebrae?

How much force was needed to do that?

The officers’ first thought was whether Long Fei had undergone any professional training.

Wei Dongming looked at Ding Xue in the last row, “Let review Long Fei’s files again.”

Ding Xue nodded, quickly organized the PPT, projected it, and introduced, “Long Fei, male, twenty-one years old.

From Longjia Bay of Binhai City Suburbs.

He ca to the city to work just over two and a half months ago.

Now he serves as the personal bodyguard to Lin’s Group CEO, Lin Yingying…”

Wei Dongming had already seen these files during the last operation to capture a drug lord.

He didn’t understand how an ordinary person who grew up by the sea could make such a big fuss in such a short period of ti.

For instance, treating Elder Shen.

According to the data, there’s no record of him learning dicine or martial arts.

And yet, he’s now under the tutelage of Ancient Martial Arts Master Zhou Yunshen.

This young man was truly perplexing.
