She looked around curiously, giggling at Long Fei, “So you live here, huh?”
Feeling sowhat embarrassed, Long Fei responded, “Your brother here is just a poor guy, I can only afford to live in a place like this for now!”
Su Yiyi laughed, quickly replying, “Not at all, it’s really nice here!
There’s a yard, and trees too, much better than our dorm!”
Long Fei watched the pretty young woman, thinking she might look down on the place.
Isn’t it said that young girls nowadays all like tall, rich, and handso guys?
But Su Yiyi surprised Long Fei a bit.
He invited the young lady inside, had her sit on the bed, and poured her a cup of warm water from the kettle.
With her legs together, Su Yiyi sat slightly shyly with her head lowered, took the cup, and then fell into a mutual silence with Long Fei.
It was Long Fei’s first ti alone in a room with a girl, and he couldn’t help feeling a bit awkward.
Upon his honor, he had no romantic feelings for Su Yiyi, he only saw her as a little sister.
After drinking a sip of water, Su Yiyi placed the cup on the table and broke the silence, “Brother Long, do you have any clothes to change into?
Let wash so clothes for you.”
Long Fei quickly waved his hand, “No need, I’ve already washed my clothes!”
His eyes unconsciously swept under the bed.
The clothes he had worn back from the training base were still stuffed in the basin under there!
Noticing his gaze, Su Yiyi crouched down to look under the bed and said with a smile, “You’re lying to , aren’t these clothes needing to be washed?”
She took them out and found a small stool to sit on.
Long Fei quickly tried to dissuade her, “Yiyi, don’t bother with that, how about I take you out to have fun?”
Su Yiyi insisted, “It’s okay, doing laundry is a girl’s job.
Just help get so water, and give your laundry detergent!”
“Alright!”
Unable to refuse her, Long Fei pulled out the washbasin from under the bed, fetched water from the hallway outside, and brought it in.
He handed Su Yiyi the laundry detergent, and asked her, “Yiyi, what would you like to do for fun?
I’ll take you out later!”
Shaking her head, Su Yiyi brushed her bangs aside and said, “No need, I just wanted to see you.
Visiting your ho is also a form of enjoynt!”
After saying this, a blush crept onto her face.
Long Fei pulled up a chair and sat opposite her, asking, “Now that you’ve seen , how do you feel?
Are you disappointed?”
Su Yiyi replied with a smile, “Why should I be disappointed?
It’s already much better than I imagined.
Do you rember, on the bus, you were dressed in rags, and now in just two days, you’ve changed completely!”
Touching his head and chuckling sheepishly, Long Fei said, “When you saw , I was picking trash in the city.
These past few days, I switched to working as a security guard!”
Su Yiyi looked at him encouragingly, “Brother Long, you have a kind heart, and you’ll definitely be rewarded.
I believe in you, you’ll surely make sothing great of yourself.
Even as a security guard, you’ll be the best one out there!”
“I’ll take my sister’s auspicious words!”
Long Fei smiled, feeling a warm glow in his heart.
This little girl was so empathetic, like a comforting little cotton-padded jacket.
She washed clothes for Long Fei, two T-shirts, and a pair of jeans.
Long Fei wrung them out, took a clothes rack, and set it up outside.
The two stood on the balcony, basking in the sun for a while.
Squinting her eyes and smiling, Su Yiyi asked, “Brother Long, do you know what it feels like to stand beside you?”
Long Fei replied with a laugh, “It’s not the sll of sweat, is it?”
Su Yiyi giggled, shaking her head, “Nope, it’s a feeling of safety.”
Long Fei watched her, frowning slightly.
Su Yiyi continued, “That ti on the bus, with so many people around and no one looking out for , only you stepped forward to protect .
It felt like a big hero from a dream had appeared!”
Long Fei said, “It was just a small effort, you really shouldn’t take it too much to heart!”
Opening her eyes, Su Yiyi looked at him earnestly, “For a kindness as small as a drop of water, one should return a favor as large as a spring!
Anyway, from now on you’re going to be Yiyi’s brother, okay?”
Long Fei laughed and said, “Of course, you can, as long as you don’t mind that your brother is a loser!”
Su Yiyi pursed her lips and smiled, “Why would I mind?
I’m not exactly a ‘fair rich and beautiful girl’ myself!”
Long Fei smiled, ready to take her out for a stroll.
Staying at ho all the ti, there wasn’t much to do.
Just then, a sports car drove up outside the courtyard and stopped at the gate.
A man sat in the car, wearing sunglasses.
Dressed in a pink shirt, green trousers, his hair slick and shining, he shouted into the house, “Brother Long, are you at ho?”
From the second floor, Long Fei waved and exclaid, “Holy shit, you’re really here!”
Who else could it be but Chu Feng?
He looked up, smiling at Long Fei.
His gaze landed on Su Yiyi and his brows furrowed in surprise for a mont.
Long Fei ca out with Su Yiyi; Chu Feng leaned casually against the car door, took off his sunglasses, and grinned at Long Fei, “No wonder you didn’t contact this morning, you had a date with a beauty!”
Su Yiyi’s face turned red and she shyly moved behind Long Fei.
Long Fei corrected him, “She’s my sister, don’t talk nonsense!”
Chu Feng laughed, “I’m talking nonsense?
Flip through the Old Long Family’s family tree, when did you guys ever have such beautiful genes?”
“Buzz off!”
Long Fei laughed and cursed, then asked him, “What are you doing here?”
Chu Feng said, “I’m here for you!
We had a bet, rember?
How can we settle it without you, the witness?
Get in the car, I’m going to take you for a spin!”
Long Fei had been wanting to go out, and with this guy coming over, he even saved on car fare.
He asked Su Yiyi, “Do you want to co along?”
Su Yiyi nodded shyly, “Okay, as long as I can be with you.”
“Then let’s go!”
Long Fei smiled, opened the car door, and motioned for Su Yiyi to get in.
The sports car had a row of seats in the back which required flipping the front seat down to access.
Long Fei helped Su Yiyi get seated and then sat down beside her.
The girl was light, her small hand soft and smooth, feeling like a piece of soft jade to the touch.
“All set, buddy, let’s hit the road!”
Chu Feng reminded, shifted into reverse, hit the gas, and with a buzz, backed the sports car onto the main road.
People on the street turned around at the sound.
Long Fei felt a bit embarrassed and shouted at him, “Can’t we keep a low profile and put the top up?”
Chu Feng laughed, “Relax, man, youth is all about being flamboyant and shining bright.
What’s the point of driving a convertible if you’re not going to put the top down?”
He floored the accelerator, and the exhaust roared as the car shot forward.
Good lord, he dared to speed even on these streets.
Su Yiyi, frightened, gripped Long Fei’s arm and buried her head down, also feeling sowhat embarrassed.
Though Long Fei had never ridden in a sports car before, he could tell that Chu Feng was no novice to this vehicle, certainly not his first ti driving it.
His driving skills were indeed impressive, narrowly avoiding hitting pedestrians several tis.
Each ti, he would swerve the steering wheel, narrowly missing the person.
The bystanders cursed in anger, “Driving a sports car doesn’t make you cool!
Going so fast, in a hurry to be reborn, eh?”
But Chu Feng didn’t care, laughing loudly as he drove ahead.
Long Fei followed with a bitter smile, thinking that this kid’s youth was indeed flamboyant beyond compare, a style he could not emulate.
