Si Nian blinked her eyes, thinking she must be seeing things.

Otherwise, why would Fu Qianqian be standing at her doorstep?

"Fu Qianqian?" she called out.

The girl at the door finally turned around, her face filled with shock when she saw who it was. "Si Nian! So this really is your house!"

Si Nian glanced at her large ho, then at Fu Qianqian’s constipated expression, and smirked proudly. "Yeah, it is."

Fu Qianqian’s face turned sour. She had assud Si Nian had married into so rural backwater, living in a mud-brick house, sleeping on a wooden plank bed, leading a miserable life.

She had even deliberately bought a bunch of nice things just to co and mock her.

But after traveling all the way to the village and asking around, everyone pointed to this conspicuously large house at the entrance of the village—saying it was hers!

Fu Qianqian stared at the house, which, though not particularly tall, had an astonishingly large footprint, and fell silent...

Her own family wasn’t always wealthy—they still had roots in the countryside.

They would visit their elders during holidays.

But compared to Si Nian’s place, their old ho was downright shabby...

She rembered how she had scoffed when Si Nian previously said she was doing fine, thinking Si Nian had lost her mind.

Now, she suddenly felt like the fool.

At this mont, Fu Qianqian’s mood could be sumd up as: Afraid your bestie suffers, but also afraid she drives a luxury car.

Seeing her expression, Si Nian inexplicably felt a surge of satisfaction.

Maybe it was because of the original owner’s mories—the two had been rivals since childhood, always at each other’s throats.

If one of them stumbled, the other would laugh in their dreams.

And now, Si Nian found herself feeling the sa way.

"You ca looking for ?" Fu Qianqian wouldn’t have traveled all the way here for no reason—there must be sothing important.

But the job had already been completely handed over to her, so there shouldn’t be anything else Si Nian was needed for.

Fu Qianqian nodded.

Seeing her drenched in sweat from the heat, Si Nian stepped forward and opened the door. "Alright, co inside."

Fu Qianqian followed her into the courtyard, curiously eyeing the house.

It looked fairly new, probably built within the last few years.

When she stepped into the living room, she was stunned once again.

A radio, a television, a sofa—all the trappings of a city apartnt were here, and then so...

This was straight-up hidden wealth!

Even the Si Family didn’t have a TV this big.

Damn, this woman’s luck is insane.

Back in the military compound, where competition was fierce, she managed to snag the eldest brother.

And now, in the countryside, she landed the wealthiest family.

She rembered how, as a kid, people used to say Si Nian had a "prosperous, husband-blessing face," and she had rolled her eyes at it.

Now, she finally understood.

Whether Si Nian was husband-blessing or not, she didn’t know—but prosperous? Absolutely.

While Fu Qianqian was still taking it all in, Si Nian had already gone to the kitchen and poured her a bowl of mung bean soup.

During hot weather, Si Nian loved cold drinks.

So she always made extra mung bean soup—Zhou Yueshen’s house had a fridge, after all, so it was convenient.

She placed the bowl in front of Fu Qianqian, who was still gaping at everything in disbelief.

Fu Qianqian, already thirsty, instinctively took a sip.

The icy chill shot straight to her brain.

She gulped down two more mouthfuls. "How is this so cold?" she asked, stunned, looking at Si Nian.

Si Nian leisurely sipped her own bowl, her posture so refined it was like she was drinking tea. Even a simple bowl of mung bean soup seed elegant in her hands.

She replied airily, "We have a fridge."

Fu Qianqian’s jaw dropped.

Seriously? A big house, a TV, a radio—and now a fridge too?

Had rural areas developed this fast?

She stamred, "You’re doing great! The way Lin Sisi acted like she was being forced, I thought you were living in misery!"

Si Nian raised an eyebrow. "I owe her my thanks for this good life."

Fu Qianqian thought Lin Sisi was an idiot—giving up a house like this to live in so old place in the military compound.

ntioning Lin Sisi reminded her of why she had co. Her expression turned gleeful. "Actually, I’m here because of Lin Sisi."

Si Nian was puzzled. "Lin Sisi?"

Fu Qianqian nodded, eager to gossip. "She had a fight with my brother!"

Si Nian replied flatly, "Why would I care about their fights?"

What does that have to do with ?

Fu Qianqian froze. "You—you’re not happy about it?"

Si Nian was baffled. "Why would I be?"

Fu Qianqian was dumbfounded. If Si Nian’s indifference toward her brother last ti had just been her putting on a front or acting out of spite, now it was clear—she genuinely couldn’t care less!

She had thought, based on her brother’s attitude, that Si Nian was still hopelessly hung up on him.

Fu Qianqian took another gulp of mung bean soup, finally calming down. "Well, you shouldn’t celebrate too soon anyway. Because right now, the Si Family and my family all think you are the one stirring up trouble between my brother and Lin Sisi. They’re coming for you..."

She hadn’t just co to share the news about Lin Sisi and her brother’s fallout.

The Si Family had gotten wind of it and blad Si Nian for ddling.

After all, Si Nian had been there that day.

Before she showed up, everything was fine.

After she left, the two were at each other’s throats—they didn’t even take photos before storming off.

Lin Sisi was even threatening to call off the engagent, saying things like "Si Nian and my brother are still entangled, I won’t get in the way of their feelings."

Now the whole compound believed Si Nian, having been kicked out of the Si Family, was still hung up on her brother and taking revenge on Lin Sisi and the family.

Her reputation was in the gutter.

So Fu Qianqian had co to warn Si Nian, to tell her to be careful.

But now that she was here, she realized Si Nian wasn’t living the tragic life she’d imagined.

Not only was she not suffering—she seed to be living very comfortably.

Nothing like the jealous, scheming villainess the compound was making her out to be.

Hearing this, Si Nian’s lips twitched.

She was starting to think Lin Sisi just couldn’t stand seeing her at peace.

Since transmigrating into this book, she had never once sought Lin Sisi out or caused trouble.

Yet Lin Sisi kept fixating on her, as if she could wring so benefit out of her.

Last ti, they were the ones who invited her. She had barely exchanged two words with Fu Yang—how was she the one ruining their relationship?

Wasn’t this just looking for drama where there was none?

Fu Qianqian said magnanimously, "I’m doing you a solid, coming all this way to warn you. Otherwise, when they co after you, you won’t even know where to cry."

"Of course, it’s not like I care about you. I’m just repaying the favor for selling your job. Consider this my act of charity."

Si Nian side-eyed her little act. She really did resemble Fu Yang in so ways.

But while Fu Qianqian was just prideful, Fu Yang was downright arrogant.

Her gaze drifted to the bag Fu Qianqian had placed on the table—filled with fruits and candies.
