However, after taking a few steps, Qin Rou turned around only to see Jiang Xue’er still standing in the same spot, staring intently at the two people. “What are you doing? Why are you so clueless? Hurry up and go!” Qin Rou walked back, grabbed Jiang Xue’er by the hand, and left.

“Don’t even mention it, the situation back then was extremely dangerous! Xue’er’s umbrella was actually broken. If Mr. Chu hadn’t kept his cool in the face of danger, the four of us might’ve really lost our lives.

While everyone’s attention was on Jian Dan and Chu Liyuan, Zi Yan was always watching Jiang Xue’er.
Zi Yan noted that Jiang Xue’er’s gaze had been fixed on Chu Liyuan ever since the beginning, and from her eyes, it was clear that this was not the usual look of gratitude towards a savior.
At that moment, Jiang Xue’er also noticed Zi Yan staring at her. After a slight pause, she gave Zi Yan a big, bright smile.
Anybody would have been moved by such an innocent and harmless smile, but unfortunately for her, Zi Yan was trained by Chu Liyuan himself and was not one to be easily deceived by appearances.
Feeling somewhat guilty, Jiang Xue’er averted Zi Yan’s gaze and joined everyone else in conversation.
During the chat, she would occasionally glance at Zi Yan, but each time her eyes met Zi Yan’s directly, causing Jiang Xue’er to feel so guilty that she dared not even throw sidelong glances after a few times.
After a while, Chu Liyuan slowly walked over with Jian Dan and said, “Let’s go back.”
The cars were already arranged, and they quickly returned to the city…
“Everyone has been tired these past few days; go home and rest well!”
After everyone dispersed, only Jian Dan, Chu Liyuan, Zi Yan, Lu Ting, and Jiang Xue’er remained.
“Zi Yan, why haven’t you and Lu Ting gone home yet?”
“Where does she live?” Zi Yan asked, pointing at Jiang Xue’er.
“Oh! Xue’er doesn’t have a place to stay here, so she will be staying in Li Garden for now!” Jian Dan had already asked her uncle for his opinion.

“Jian, Lu Ting and I have decided to stay here more permanently, so we need to renovate the house a bit. Staying at Li Garden during this time shouldn’t be a problem, right?” Zi Yan asked Jian Dan.
