I originally thought that the rain was about to stop, but for some reason, shortly after the two of us finished eating the roasted mushrooms, it turned into a downpour again.
"Mu Yi, when will this rain ever end? With this amount of rainfall, when will we ever be found?" Jian Dan walked to the entrance of the cave and said as she looked outside.
"The rain has been falling for three days now; it should stop soon!" Mu Yi cherished the rare opportunity to be alone with Jian Dan and only hoped that the rain would keep pouring.
"I hope so! If we can’t get out, uncle will be back from his business trip." Jian Dan sounded somewhat worried as she spoke.
Because Jian Dan knew Chu Liyuan well—if he came back and found out she was missing, he certainly wouldn’t care whether the rain had stopped or not; he would e looking for her at all costs.
"So what if he es back?" Mu Yi’s brows inadvertently furrowed upon hearing about that man.
"If uncle es back, he will definitely e looking for me first. But the current weather just doesn’t allow it, right? I really don’t want him to disregard his own safety just to find me."

Finally, after Mu Yi’s repeated persuasion, Jian Dan lay down on the dry grass and fell asleep.
After making sure Jian Dan was sound asleep, Mu Yi got up and left the cave...

"It’s raining so heavily, it’s so dangerous outside, why did you go out?"
"I was afraid you’d get cold!" he said, turning to point at the firewood behind him.
"How can you light a fire with these wet branches?"
"Just leave them out to dry a bit before using!"
"With this weather, how can they dry?"
"As long as they’re not so wet, they can still work when mixed with dry branches!"
"Can they really be used that way?"
"Many things are figured out by necessity, right?"
"It seems so!"
This reminded Jian Dan of how she, once a simple girl all brains and no brawn, had also changed into her current self due to circumstances she had been forced into.
