Bo Yan was clearly soone who spent a lot of ti in the kitchen. He sliced, shredded, and minced the at with expert speed, the two knives practically flying. After preparing the at filling, he added egg white, ginger water, and Sichuan pepper oil, whipping it until perfectly mixed—ensuring you’d taste the ginger and pepper without encountering any fibers or seeds. Then he added vegetables, salt, sugar, cooking wine, oyster sauce, and so on.

He made several different kinds of fillings, each in small quantities. When all the fillings were ready, he turned around to see Xia Siyu still sweating profusely as she worked on the dough.

Bo Yan didn’t rush her. After observing for a mont, he realized her technique was chaos incarnate: adding water when there was too much flour, adding flour when there was too much water, repeating the process endlessly without following any principle. As a result, there was more and more dough, and her hands and clothes were thoroughly covered in it, impossible to clean.

She yelled directly at Bo Yan, "Hubby, help !"

Bo Yan looked helpless. "Put it down first. Let check."

Xia Siyu quickly let go and dashed to the bathroom to wash her hands. After much effort, she finally cleaned off the sticky dough clinging to her fingers. When she returned, she noticed Bo Yan watching a video. By the ti she ca out of the bathroom, the video had ended. Bo Yan wiped his hands, added a bit of flour to the dough, kneaded it, added a little more flour, and kneaded forcefully again.

It was quite miraculous—what had been an impossible, uncooperative lump of dough under Xia Siyu’s hands suddenly beca obedient and smooth under Bo Yan’s. Xia Siyu was stunned: "How are you doing this?"

"Honestly, it’s simple. You added too much water at first, so the dough was too sticky. Later, when you added flour, you didn’t knead it in well enough, so it looked uneven. If you want the texture to be chewy, you need a higher flour-to-water ratio. It takes strength to knead properly, so I’ll handle it."

Kneading dough was indeed exhausting, especially with the enormous portion Xia Siyu had prepared. But Bo Yan quickly kneaded the dough until it was smooth and placed it in the bowl to rest. Xia Siyu asked again, "Do you know how to make dumplings?"

Bo Yan thought for a mont before answering, "I know how to make them, but I usually buy premade skins. This is actually my first ti making dough from scratch."

Xia Siyu was brimming with curiosity. "So, how do you know what to do?"

Bo Yan pointed at his phone. "I just learned it online—watching tutorials."

Of course, the world of geniuses was completely different from hers. A genius needed only to learn sothing once, while soone like her was dood to fail repeatedly.

Xia Siyu asked again, "But do you know how to roll the skins?"

Bo Yan shook his head. "Not yet, but I can learn."

Xia Siyu patted his shoulder with relief. "Then leave it all up to you!"

Bo Yan was speechless. "Didn’t you say earlier that you wanted to make dinner? You also promised a feast you’d personally cook."

"Well, yeah, but I can’t do it! Hubby, I’m begging you." Xia Siyu hastily cozied up to him, noticing his slightly exasperated look, then grabbed a fistful of flour and sared it across his face.

Bo Yan didn’t dodge in ti and was instantly sared white-faced. Strangely, it suited him—his handso face now sported a streak of white like an injury. He almost looked more attractive.

After her mischief, Xia Siyu bolted imdiately. Naturally, Bo Yan wasn’t going to let it slide. He grabbed a handful of flour and chased after her.

Xia Siyu ran off laughing, shouting as she went, "Haha! Go back and make dumplings! Roll out the skins! Hurry up!"

Bo Yan followed after her, trailing flour everywhere, still laughing. "I’m inviting you to help out, of course. New Year’s dinner tastes better when it’s made together."

Xia Siyu dashed into the kitchen, finding herself cornered with nowhere to escape. Backing away, she tried to bargain, "If you go back first, I will too."

Bo Yan advanced with his flour-filled hand. "Let’s go together."

Just then, Xia Siyu noticed the flour sack nearby. Quick as lightning, she grabbed a handful and hurled it straight at him. "I won’t!"
