Xia Siyu ran to the door with a spatula in hand and opened the video doorbell: “Who is it?”
When the doorbell opened, she saw that it was Xia Youbiao inside. She paused for a mont. The gloomy mood she’d been in monts ago still hadn’t dissipated, and her voice turned abruptly cold: “What’s the matter?”

Despite her earlier feelings of intense resentnt toward him, at this mont, upon realizing her father might have fallen, Xia Siyu instinctively reached to press the elevator button to go downstairs and check on him.

Xia Siyu froze again. While she was still dazed, the elevator arrived downstairs, and without a second thought, Xia Siyu bolted out, scanning her surroundings imdiately—
Xia Youbiao was standing perfectly fine off to the side, with no signs of having fallen. Instead, it was his driver, who appeared to be dusting himself off, with faint traces of a dirtied crease visible.
It wasn’t her father who had fallen. Xia Siyu let out a sigh of relief. But when Xia Youbiao’s gaze landed on her, her deanor instantly turned cold again: “You’re fine, right? If you’re fine, then I’m leaving.”
