Only when Bo Yan changed his shoes and walked closer did he realize that she had been staring at the road. On New Year’s Eve, while snow was falling, the usually bustling road had grown desolate. Except for one car, quietly driving off into the distance.
It was Xia Youbiao’s car.
Bo Yan knew that Xia Siyu always said she hated her father, but in the Xia Family, only Xia Youbiao could truly tug at her heartstrings. The conflicts between them weren’t sothing that could be resolved in a day or two. Similarly, the bond of family between them wasn’t sothing easily abandoned.

As expected, the mont her mother was ntioned, Xia Siyu’s body tensed abruptly. Her fingers clenched into fists, tightening further.
Bo Yan didn’t say anything more, only held her tightly. After a long, long ti, Xia Siyu’s body finally relaxed bit by bit. She exhaled deeply and sneered, "What’s the use of saying these things now? He’s already dead. I..."
She still wanted to spit venom, but her words broke off midway and could no longer continue. All that remained was the sound of her increasingly disordered breathing.
Bo Yan also remained silent, simply holding her as her violently heaving chest gradually cald. Only then did he kiss her hair, hold her tighter, and say, "No matter what happens, I will always stand by your side."
