Chapter 1063: Chapter 1054: Premiere (6)

The movie started quickly.

During the filming of the movie, there had been a fan-based dispute over actor rankings. Although it was mainly at the fan level, at the beginning of the film, after “Director Wang Ju’s work” was displayed, the first na to appear was “Lead Actor: Bo Yan.” His position as the top-ranking actor was undeniable. Following that, although Xia Siyu and Shang Feifei appeared together, Shang Feifei was on the left, and Xia Siyu was on the right. If you really insist on analyzing it, Shang Feifei had the advantage in positioning.

This indicated that, although from the storyline Shang Feifei was the second lead and Xia Siyu was the third, the distinction between the original female lead and female supporting role had blurred. Director Wang Ju seed to have altered his approach during the editing process, elevating both characters to roughly equal importance. However, it had been decided from the beginning that Shang Feifei would rank ahead, with Xia Siyu following.

The promotional posters also reflected this dynamic. In most of them, Bo Yan was positioned at the center, with the two won flanking him on either side. Both of them appeared equally significant.

Xia Siyu’s ability to rise from supporting actress to female lead was partly due to Director Wang Ju’s shift in direction during post-production, and partly thanks to her own strong acting skills. It was also likely that Qin Baizhou and her company had contributed to her ascension. After all, Xia Siyu and Shang Feifei were of comparable status as artists. Even though Xia Siyu willingly took the third lead role, her team had strategic interests in pushing her upward whenever possible.

The battle over actor rankings had finally settled. After the opening credits, the movie officially began.

The opening sequence of the movie was different from the order of filming. The first scene in the movie was a boat scene with Xia Siyu and Bo Yan. Yet the movie started from Shang Feifei’s perspective.

Shang Feifei was, after all, originally cast as the female lead in the script. Even though Director Wang Ju later adjusted the narrative to give Xia Siyu more scenes, Shang Feifei remained the character who connected the plot threads, so her introduction ca first. The movie unfolded from her viewpoint. She wasn’t soone who randomly barged into Bo Yan’s world. In the story, both the male lead and female lead ca from musical aristocratic families. Her parents and his parents had known each other and intended to introduce them. The male lead, however, had left ho after an accident and beca estranged from his family. While both were aware that their parents wanted to set them up, neither knew the other was the intended match.

The female lead specialized in classical music. Due to an unforeseen incident, a key violinist was missing before an important performance. Pressed for ti, she tracked down the male lead’s contact information, which led to their connection…

During the first fifteen minutes, the focus remained solely on the female lead’s perspective. Neither Bo Yan nor Xia Siyu made their appearance.

This segnt seed mainly to establish the background, clarify the linkage between the male and female lead, and lay out the points for their future connections. Supporting characters slowly made their appearances as well. The pacing of the film felt steady, but sowhat flat. While the actors’ performances were decent, there weren’t any monts that were truly electrifying.

The general audience seed fine with it, but so film critics—who had access to insider previews—claid the movie was highly compelling. To be honest, the first fifteen minutes didn’t quite live up to such glowing remarks.

Could it be they were paid off?

Just as these thoughts crossed the mind, the female lead dialed a phone number. On the other end, the screen shifted to the male lead’s unanswered phone.

The transition formally began!

The first scene in the transition unfolded in a dimly lit, decadent atmosphere—a nightclub stage awash in red and green lights. The cara pushed deeper into a shadowy room, capturing a guitar placed at the foot of the bed, and the evocative sight of Xia Siyu twisting to the rhythm of a Rumba, gradually approaching Bo Yan…
