Chapter 1349: Chapter 1340: Awards (4)

However, the audience watching the film festival and the photographers present were not in the mood to care about who won an award and who didn’t. Especially in the early stages when there were awards for short films, docuntaries, and editing, and other minor awards, the level of attention was quite low.

Actually, the main organizers of the film festival and the directors on site knew what everyone’s focus was. Initially, Xia Siyu didn’t make it into the nominations due to personal reasons, yet they gave her a ticket to attend — it was deliberately provocative. Generally, anyone with a bit of sha or a thinner skin wouldn’t participate.

Nevertheless, she attended and unapologetically arrived late to walk the red carpet. She even boldly sat right beside Bo Yan, with just one seat separating her from Shang Feifei.

This was obviously ant for publicity.

The on-site director wished every cara angle focused on her, but he was sowhat rational and knew this was still an award ceremony and the focus should be on the awards. He could only subtly instruct the caras to linger on her a little longer during crowd shots, capturing as many close-ups as possible. If close-ups weren’t feasible, they would fra her with Bo Yan and Shang Feifei, making the intention of stirring up drama unmistakable.

Consequently, the initial awards received no attention; as soon as the cara focused on Xia Siyu, bullet comnts flooded in, and the real-ti viewership ratings soared.

The live broadcast was quite audacious. Although the event required the focus to remain on the awards, the broadcast was blunt enough to tell the director to split the screen in two. One half was for the awards, and the other half was for the guests. Though it was ant to be guest shots, six or seven tis out of ten, it was focused on Xia Siyu and her companions. Anyone unaware might have thought Xia Siyu was today’s leading contender for Best Actress, the biggest dark horse.

However, the viewers of the live broadcast were thoroughly enjoying it, starting to engage in a frenzy of comnts.

Recently, Xia Siyu had been practicing her posture; she sat up straight, her neck long, her chin slightly raised, revealing a beautiful neckline. Her dress was a deep V, covered with sheer fabric; when fild from the side, her curves were faintly visible. Her skin was exceptionally fair, especially since there had been no filming recently, she had been practicing her posture and rehearsing theater daily, staying indoors. Even in the venue with poor lighting, she glowed white.

Her snowy skin, red lips, and her long hair cascading like seaweed, showed no signs of fatigue; she was radiant.

Also, she wasn’t exactly avoiding suspicion. As she sat gracefully watching the award ceremonies, she stood up with a smile to applaud when the editing for “Storm” won an award, occasionally chatting casually with Bo Yan.

Her deanor was too natural and poised. It was evident their relationship was fine, but as for eye contact or intentional physical contact, there was none to be seen for now.

Bo Yan’s loyal fans, still holding strong, rushed to major platforms to clarify things upon seeing the two people’s interactions, relying solely on the fans’ strength, trending the hashtag #BoYanXiaSiyuBodyLanguage# — though it was trending quite low and quickly dropped off.

Solo fans were overjoyed, writing lengthy narratives to prove they weren’t dating, just Bo Yan’s gentlemanly conduct; he helped her before, and later there was collaboration, didn’t you see they were practically sitting eight hundred ters apart?

Another award for “Storm” crew — this ti for Art Direction.

As with the earlier editing award, the art direction win also prompted a short film to be shown. Besides the scenic color palette, eighty percent of the clips shown were Xia Siyu’s scenes.
