Bo Yan was holding the bowl of water quite steadily on his end. Although he first looked at Xia Siyu, he then turned to hug Shang Feifei, making it seem to the audience that he was impartial, even if it was just out of courtesy.

The double entendre was clear to Shang Feifei, who nodded, “Thank you.”
The two won brushed past each other; their shoulders bumped and arms grazed, but neither took offense or felt awkward.
Afterward, Shang Feifei stepped onto the stage in her high heels, with the screen split in two—half following her, while the other half stayed with Xia Siyu, focusing on her face.
Aside from her initial surprise, Xia Siyu remained composed. After Shang Feifei left, she sat down, looking calmly at the stage with a professional smile on her face.
Shang Feifei accepted the trophy from the veteran presenter and, following tradition, started her acceptance speech, though she seed a bit startled. After a long pause, she began, “Honestly, I didn’t expect to win an award today.”
Her first words hit ho with the live audience and viewers watching the livestream on their phones.
Everyone actually knew that even if “Storm” won an award, it shouldn’t be her receiving it. However, Xia Siyu had beco a target of public criticism, her reputation tarnished, and even if so believed she acted better, no one would stand up for her.
Shang Feifei said: “The nominees this ti are all great actors; I appreciate the encouragent and support from the judges.”
Of course, she couldn’t publicly claim the others perford better, since the award was won vote by vote from the judges. If she admitted soone else deserved the award, wouldn’t that cast doubt on the value of winning it?
Furthermore, though one veteran actress perford better than her, that veteran had already won a Golden Phoenix Best Actress award once. It’s widely known that achieving a second Best Actress award is exceedingly difficult unless your performance is unparalleled; winning the sa award twice is truly challenging.
Following the usual protocols, in her acceptance speech, she took ti to thank family, friends, and fans for their support, then turned the topic to their cast: “‘Storm’ is a wonderful film. My winning this award is the result of everyone’s hard work—director, actors, all the main contributors gave their best efforts. When rating our film, we ask the audience to be lenient.”
She also hinted at the incident where the film received low ratings because of hatred towards Xia Siyu from aggressive critics, which caused many in the audience to laugh; it was rare for the lead actress to openly encourage higher ratings for her own film.
After congratulatory remarks, she stepped down from the stage, with Xia Siyu all the while sitting properly in her seat, smiling.
As Shang Feifei returned to her seat, the award ceremony continued. Two presenters were exchanging lines on stage, going back and forth, but ultimately it was ti to announce the Best Male Lead: “For Best Actor, the nominees are, xx ‘xxx’… Bo Yan ‘Storm’.”
