This crisis is not directly related to them, but it is sohow connected to them.

Mainly, the house caught on fire.

Literally caught on fire.

This happened to coincide with the day their mother’s series just started filming. Strangely enough, just after the kickoff ceremony, Bo Yan and Xia Siyu didn’t want to buy trending searches but had to get one anyway. After all, the TV station had also put up money. This was the first shoot for Bo Yan and Xia Siyu after their public announcent, and also the first ti these two movie stars were filming a TV series together.

Even though they had collaborated on several films, only "Storm" had been released so far. Moreover, during "Storm," it was obvious they weren’t very familiar with each other, and there was clear discord on set. Thus, everyone was quite eager to see them film together.

In the dostic scene, people aren’t generally optimistic about a second collaboration of a CP (couple pairing). Firstly, the second collaboration might lack the initial rawness and the on-off chemistry of the first. Secondly, if the CP actually becos a reality during the second collaboration, it’s not favorable for idols in their rising phase. They need to hype their CP to attract popularity but don’t want to be too tightly bound to avoid audience aversion when partnering with others in the future.

Regular male-female CPs are fine; the most troubleso are the "Boys’ Love" CPs. Fans co quickly, and they co fervently. But most stars in Boys’ Love are straight. Even putting aside the star’s sexual orientation, there are more male-female works available. A second collaboration in Boys’ Love can easily solidify the CP, which is detrintal to future developnt.

However, abroad, such second or third collaborations of CPs are quite usual. For instance, in Thailand, there are many officially endorsed CPs, and TV stations even tailor scripts specifically for them. Of course, it’s mostly work, and rarely do official CPs end up together.

The cooperation between Xia Siyu and Bo Yan at this ti was both a mutual benefit and a necessity. "Storm" and "Spring Light" could still be attributed to Xia Siyu’s interest in those scripts, a normal collaboration. But during "Sunrise," it was the lowest point in her career when Bo Yan produced a movie for her, which was practically a lifeline. As for her mother’s TV series, she didn’t want anyone else in the collaboration, so she had to pair with Bo Yan again. Including the two reality shows, they had worked together six tis over the past two years.

Fortunately, they have now publicly announced their relationship, or else with the current circumstances, the critique from the outside world would have been even greater.

People in the entertainnt industry are actually very superstitious. So you often hear about so celebrity apprenticing under a "master," only to find out years later that the master was a fraud. Or you might hear about a star resorting to hiring a spirit dium for success.

On the day of the filming ceremony, after burning incense and praying to the gods, the director was even joking: "I’ve heard that sothing supernatural needs to happen to the crew for the series to beco a hit."

And it really is like that; you often hear that sothing happened to soone in the cast, and then the series becos hugely successful. Just like ancient sacrifices, needing to use blood and life to beseech the favor of the elusive gods.

Then in the evening, sothing supernatural did happen, the Xia Family’s house caught on fire.

It wasn’t arson or human-made. Interestingly enough, in the recent thunderstorms, lightning and rain were inevitable. Then the Shengxia Furniture office building got struck by a ball lightning, and it caught fire.

When the news ca, Xia Siyu and Bo Yan had just finished a day of shooting and were discussing the script and how to shoot the next scenes. Bo Yan wasn’t directing this piece; the director was the one who supervised the stage play of "Sunrise" and participated in the movie version of "Sunrise" as well.

The pacing of stage plays and TV series is quite different from movies. Bo Yan feared he couldn’t handle it and would compromise the overall quality, so he specifically let the stage director take the lead.

Filming TV usually isn’t done in sequence; the script is jumbled. Xia Siyu placed great importance on this series, and generally, she would discuss and rehearse every scene ticulously before continuing. At this ti, they were also discussing the next scene when her phone rang.

Xia Siyu ignored it. She usually didn’t like others interrupting when she was working. She frowned, glanced at Wei Jingjing, signaling her to answer it. Wei Jingjing nodded, entered the password, saw the caller ID, and was montarily stunned.

The na was "...", what was that? But since it was entered, it must be an acquaintance. She walked outside to answer the call: "Hello."

The person on the other side paused for a mont: "Who are you? Isn’t this Siyu’s phone?"

Wei Jingjing nodded: "Yes. She’s busy. What’s the matter?"

The other side spoke quickly, with sounds reminiscent of an ambulance in the background: "You need to tell her to co to the affiliated hospital, sothing happened at ho."

Wei Jingjing paused and then nodded: "Hold on a mont."

She went back inside, holding the phone close to Xia Siyu: "A call for you."

Xia Siyu frowned; she was evidently engrossed in the discussion and didn’t appreciate being disturbed: "Can’t you see I’m busy here?"

With others around, Wei Jingjing lowered her voice: "It’s the one marked with the ellipsis, saying sothing happened at your ho."

At the ntion of "ellipsis," Xia Siyu imdiately realized it was the number she had marked for Xia Ju’an. Recently, while writing the script about her mother, her hatred toward the Xia Family had deepened, and she found everyone from the Xia Family annoying: "Sothing happened? What happened? It’s late at night, put out the fire!"

"It’s real... they said your house caught fire, and your dad was injured. He’s in a coma and being rescued at the affiliated hospital."

Bo Yan glanced at Xia Siyu, whose impatience instantly turned into a bit of shock and then a slight tension. She reached out, gesturing for the phone. When Wei Jingjing handed it over, her hand trembled, nearly dropping the phone.

However, her brother had already hung up, but he had sent her a text with their dad’s location.

Xia Siyu took the call, her gaze slightly dazed, then her eyes shifted to Bo Yan. She attempted to stand from the sofa, but her legs gave out, and she sat back down.

Bo Yan quickly got up, supporting her arm: "Let’s go."

He turned back to the director: "Siyu and I may need to take a few days off. Please start with the other group in the anti."

The director nodded: "Don’t worry; issues at ho are more urgent. Take care of matters there first."

Xia Siyu snapped out of it and retorted: "What’s the big deal? We’ll continue shooting tomorrow." She irritably frowned: "Can’t even stay calm late at night!"

Though it sounded like she was complaining, after getting up, she walked faster than anyone else.
