In pursuit of perfection, however, the actors need to first visit the location for a site survey, akin to rehearsing for a performance. After sufficient practice, they would shoot indoors first. Once there are no issues with the indoor shots, regardless of the weather, they would first practice on the mountain. When it actually starts to snow, that’s when the official filming would comnce.
So, as various teams assembled in X City, Xia Siyu had just finished shooting the indoor scenes and joined the main force to head to the mountains. During the winter, many large pieces of equipnt had to endure rain, snow, and cold weather, and the actors could only wear relatively light costus. The mountain they were shooting on had no cable car access; to reach the filming location, they had to drive to the foot of the mountain and then hike up for an hour.
Xia Siyu was rather fit, not feeling the strain of climbing the mountain in a down jacket during winter. For this shoot, the assistants suffered the most. Director Ji and his team ca from a background of martial arts movies; the actors were trained in martial arts as well and physical exertion was no issue. However, the sa might not be true for the assistants. Wei Jingjing was exhausted, as she was there to look after Xia Siyu, but in the end, Xia Siyu had to carry the backpacks and equipnt instead. Wei Jingjing was already gasping for air just from the hike up the mountain.
People like Wei Jingjing were not in short supply; while filming primarily revolves around the director, actors, cara, lighting, and set design, in reality, the extensive logistical personnel also characterize a crew. Normally they would be a supportive force for the shooting, but today they beca a burden.
Finding it not easy to reach the location, despite the absence of rain or snow, the weather was cold, and it was on a mountain, so any water would freeze, making the roads wet and slippery. Actions that were easily perford in the studio now needed more effort to execute on location.
Although everyone was equipped with Weiya, the mountain path was only a ter wide. They had to maneuver and leap on it, and a mont of carelessness could lead to a slip and the risk of an accident.

On the first day, after several hours of jumping around, not a single take satisfied Director Ji. But it didn’t matter; they still had several days ahead to refine the scenes.
On the day when various teams arrived, Xia Siyu and her crew had already set off for the mountains, marking their second day of on-site rehearsal. Today the weather was good, with higher temperatures and no ice on the roads. With the experience gained from the previous day’s exercise, action moves were perford more smoothly today.
