Anyway, it’s widely known that Xia Siyu and Bo Yan are rivals. Even though they’ve collaborated on two projects, Bo Yan’s tone, with its slight undertone of somberness, imdiately sounds unpleasant.
A group of people turned their heads. Bo Yan’s face remained emotionless—neither angry nor happy. But the issue is, he’s supposed to perform on stage with Xia Siyu later; his icy deanor at the mont is far from portraying a "good relationship."
Especially when Shang Feifei appeared afterward and said, "Why is everyone gathered here?"
Bo Yan turned his head. Although his face still lacked any expression, his tone was noticeably softer: "It’s nothing. Maybe it’s just because there are more people."
Still, his words carried a hint of dissatisfaction. You could tell at once that his interactions with Xia Siyu didn’t seem all that harmonious.
The trio—Bo Yan, Xia Siyu, and Shang Feifei—were undoubtedly the most popular and prominent guests on-site. As soon as the three appeared, the bustling backstage suddenly felt more reserved. Despite the excitent, Bo Yan’s stern expression and Shang Feifei’s sowhat aloof vibe failed to enliven the atmosphere as much as Xia Siyu’s earlier exuberant entrance. People grew hesitant to speak freely.
Looking at Bo Yan’s gloomy deanor, Xia Siyu wasn’t annoyed at all; in fact, she found it amusing. Of course, she couldn’t let his jealousy grow unchecked. Even if she wasn’t a celebrity, going out to work ant inevitable interactions with colleagues, clients, and others. She couldn’t possibly quit the industry just to feed his petty insecurities, could she?
Still, Xia Siyu understood well that while it’s fine to be playful at ho, one has to be restrained in public. She smiled and patted Wang Zisu on the back. With that, he stood even straighter: "It’s about ti to enter. The evening show is starting soon."
"Mm," Wang Zisu responded with a small nod, then politely greeted Shang Feifei and Bo Yan, "Fei’er-jie, Yan-ge."
They had worked together before. Shang Feifei gave him a polite smile but didn’t say much. As for Bo Yan, although he nodded in acknowledgnt, his gaze lingered briefly on Xia Siyu’s hand resting on Wang Zisu’s back before quickly pulling away. Without close observation, you’d simply assu he was focused on greeting Wang Zisu.
And so, the group walked inside silently. None of the younger actors or extras dared to walk in front of the trio. Originally, Shang Feifei led the way, with Bo Yan in the middle and Xia Siyu bringing up the rear. But at so point, Bo Yan tilted his head slightly to adjust his earpiece, pausing briefly in the process. Xia Siyu used the mont to step ahead of him. The lack of any engagent between the two was palpable, their body language revealing faint traces of avoidance.
Of course, this avoidance could easily be interpreted as tension. At least for now, it certainly appeared that way.
Once Xia Siyu went ahead, Bo Yan began walking again, firmly positioning himself between her and the group of younger actors behind them. Acting as a physical barrier, he ensured no one dared to try cutting through. The rest naturally slowed down their pace.
The New Year’s Eve gala was held in the network’s main studio, which could accommodate thousands. The seats in the front rows were reserved for guests and dia, while those further back were for the audience. Xia Siyu and Bo Yan made their entrance just before the show began, causing a stir across the room.
The show had yet to start, and the venue was vast, so it wasn’t easy for the audience seated in the rear to discern who was who at the front. Still, the news of these three celebrities entering the studio was enough to ignite excitent.
The production team didn’t dare overlook the trio and carefully arranged seats for them at the most prominent spot—front and center. Bo Yan sat in the middle, with Xia Siyu to his right.
