111-102.

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center, concluding their 2003-2004 preseason.

This was, without a doubt, a huge encouragent for Cavaliers fans.

Su Xi’s incredible triple-double with steals, and LeBron Jas’s near 30-5-5. They both had bright futures ahead of them.

After the ga, Los Angeles showed its dominance in the dia industry. Seven or eight caras sward Su Xi and Jas, interviewing the two rising stars of the 2003 class.

Jas smiled as the reporters closed in, while Su Xi appeared sowhat impassive.

But his impassive expression only made him look more handso.

"Jack, how does it feel to get a triple-double against the Lakers tonight? Gary Payton claims you’re the second coming of ’The Glove.’ Do you like that nickna?"

The Los Angeles Tis tossed the first question to Su Xi, which caught Jas, who had prepared his opening remarks, off guard. ’Aren’t I the first pick?’

"I’m calm about the triple-double. This was an insignificant ga. I don’t make a big deal out of stats like these. I like Gary Payton, but I don’t like the nickna he gave . I’m not so second-generation Glove. I am my own man," Su Xi stated impassively.

His face betrayed no emotion.

It gave him an air of asceticism. A 25-year-old female reporter subconsciously made a look of pleasure. She was getting a little too into it.

Hearing Su Xi’s answer, Jas, who was standing beside him, froze. ’You already said all that, so how am I supposed to do my opening? "Don’t make a big deal out of stats like these"? So should I make a big deal out of them or not? Damn it, I’m never doing a joint interview with Jack again.’

Sure enough, the next reporter asked Jas how it felt to win the ga and his thoughts on putting up great numbers.

What else could Jas say?

He spread his hands. "Like Jack said, this is just a preseason ga; it’s not that important. Our goals aren’t limited to the preseason. We’re aiming for sothing higher."

"And where would that be?" a reporter pressed.

"Wherever Jordan went, that’s where we’ll go," LeBron Jas said proudly, casually draping his arm over Su Xi’s shoulder.

Su Xi reached out and patted the back of his head. He told the reporters, "That’s not right. I’m going to a peak no one has ever set foot on."

"Right, right, right, we are going to a peak no one has ever set foot on," Jas added.

One of them said ’we,’ the other said ’I.’

The next day, so in the dia deliberately nitpicked their words, saying: LeBron Jas has more team spirit than Little Sheep Su Xi.

They even drew a parallel to the 1996 Philadelphia draft interviews with Iverson and Marbury, where Marbury supposedly lost the top pick for saying ’I’ too many tis, while Iverson used ’we’ more often.

The reporters went on to ask Jas a few more questions about things like his plans for the new season and the team’s goals.

Jas answered them well.

Finally, TNT turned to Su Xi. "Jack, you’re about to have your NBA season opener against the Sacranto Kings. Before this, Chris Webber mocked your ’genius-killer’ theory. Do you have anything you want to say to him?"

Su Xi cleared his throat, leaned his head forward slightly, and stared intently at the TNT cara. He said, "Chris Webber, I heard you were running your mouth behind my back. I never did anything to offend you, but now you’ve offended . I have two declarations to make to you. First: you are far from being a genius player anymore. There’s nothing left about your talent worth bragging about. Second: you started this war, but how it ends, and on what terms it ends, is up to ."

As soon as Su Xi finished speaking, the reporters erupted in an uproar.

They never dread that the previously quiet and silent Su Xi would drop such a massive bombshell.

He had just directly fired shots at Chris Webber.

Not only claiming Chris Webber was no genius player, but also declaring he would end the battle on his own terms.

My God! How could this kid be so arrogant?

Why was he so completely different from Yao Ming? Aren’t they both Chinese players? Aren’t all Chinese people supposed to be nice guys? When Yao Ming gets offended, he’ll even personally help his opponent up. Why is he...?

But regardless, this was going to be the number one story of the NBA season opener.

All eyes would be focused on this ga.

LeBron Jas was a very smart person. He was only surprised for three seconds. He realized this situation was all upside and no downside for him. Because Su Xi was the one attracting all the fire and hatred, if he played poorly, people would mock him. anwhile, Jas could reap the benefits without any of the risk, feeding off this sudden surge of dia attention to further build up his "Chosen One" title.

’Jack, you really are my lucky star.’

Jas was overjoyed.

Just then, a veteran reporter who was a Webber fan threw out a question: "Jack, are you judging Chris Webber? What makes you think your words are the standard?"

Su Xi was about to answer.

But Jas jumped in from the side, "Because he is The Law. That’s his nickna—The Law."

And The Law, of course, can judge anyone.

With this statent, Jas was both building up Su Xi’s reputation and fanning the flas.

If Su Xi failed to deliver a perfect performance in the upcoming opener, that nickna would be ruined.

No matter how you looked at it, LeBron Jas couldn’t lose.

It wasn’t the "Chosen One" nickna that would be tarnished.

The interview ended.

Jas and Su Xi walked side by side into the player tunnel. "Jack, you were way too fierce out there, man. Chris Webber is one of the top four power forwards in the league, after all. What if you get destroyed picking a fight with him?"

"Huh? He’s one of the top four power forwards? Why didn’t you say so earlier?" Su Xi deliberately teased him.

Jas’s eyes widened. "You didn’t know? The Michigan Five, the Sacranto Leader, the God of Princeton... Don’t tell you had no idea!"

"Just ssing with you, Ah Zhan," Su Xi said, patting the back of Jas’s head again. He continued, "I’ve watched the tapes of Webber that Stephen prepared for . I said what I said because I have so understanding of him. I wouldn’t have said it if I wasn’t confident. After all, this is my first official NBA ga. I want to start with a bang!"

"You think you can handle Chris Webber?" Jas was surprised.

"Maybe not completely, but I can teach him a little lesson," Su Xi said.

Jas raised an eyebrow. "Good. When you handle things, I can rest easy."

As they were talking, a beautiful figure appeared before them. Jas quickly trotted over. "Hey, Jessica! I didn’t expect you to be waiting for here."

But Jessica Alba’s gaze was fixed on Su Xi, filled with joy, resentnt, longing, and fantasy... a mix of emotions more vivid than any character she had ever played.

For the past few months, Jessica Alba had thought of Su Xi day and night. Ever since she and Su Xi had that rap battle, he had appeared in her every dream. No other man, no matter how handso, outstanding, or rich, could capture even a sliver of her attention; in fact, they even repulsed her. The only one who made her toss and turn at night was Su Xi. She said she had been captured. Her best friend said she had been controlled by Su Xi using so mysterious Eastern dark arts.

But she would ask, "If he’s controlling , why hasn’t he co to claim ? He lit a fire but doesn’t add any wood, leaving to burn all alone."

In recent days, Jessica had tried to get Vanessa to contact Su Xi, but Vanessa had been going through a hard ti herself. That whole affair with Kobe had hit her hard, and she advised Jessica, a fellow woman of xican descent, not to get serious about an NBA player.

But what could she do? She had already fallen for him.

Recently, her agent had booked her a comrcial she hadn’t wanted to shoot. But when she heard that LeBron Jas was Su Xi’s teammate, she agreed, as if guided by so unseen force.

And now, she was finally seeing Su Xi.

She was finally seeing the man who made her toss and turn in her dreams, the man who made her lose her appetite.

The emotions in her eyes were overflowing, and before a single word was spoken, tears began to stream down her face.

’What’s going on?’

Jas stood to the side, watching Jessica Alba gaze lovingly at Su Xi, crystalline tears streaming down her flawless, delicate skin.

"Let introduce you. Jack, this is my teammate, my best partner..." Jas started to introduce him to Jessica.

"No need, Ah Zhan. I know her," Su Xi stopped Jas.

But Jessica Alba stepped forward and threw her arms around Su Xi.

Jas stood there, at a complete loss, his mind reeling in shock. ’What is this situation? Where am I even supposed to stand? Should I just go hide under a car or sothing?’

...

Jas didn’t even know how he got back to the locker room. All he knew was that he was completely bewildered.

It wasn’t that he was desperate to date Jessica Alba; he just wanted to show off his own incredible charm. But... this sudden reversal was too much for him to handle.

Then he heard Jason Kapono say to Carlos Boozer in the locker room, "Hey, did you just see that? The Hollywood star Jessica Alba hugged Jack. She even tried to kiss him, but Jack refused."

"Oh, man. Why’d he do that? Doesn’t Jack love that mixed xican look the most? That’s his favorite category when he’s watching porn..." Carlos Boozer said, completely baffled.

"Maybe it’s one of his little tricks. Chinese guys are more reserved; they’re used to letting the woman take the initiative."

"Is he even coming back tonight? I an, he’s probably going on a date with Jessica, right? We don’t have practice until the afternoon tomorrow anyway," Boozer said.

They went back and forth, talking about Su Xi.

This was driving Jas crazy. He thought: ’Jack isn’t actually going on a date with Jessica, is he? Then what does that make ? The guy who brought the wolf into the house? A tool?’

The Chosen One did not like this role at all. He had always been the one who was sought after. He believed he had great masculine charm and had always thought Jessica Alba would be hopelessly drawn to him. But tonight, she was wearing Jack’s jersey, and when she saw Jack... she practically lted into his arms.

’Is my charm really that bad?’

’Besides being a little bit more handso than , I crush him in every other aspect.’

The more Jas thought about it, the more upset he beca.

Just then, the team manager walked in. "Alright everyone, we’re gathering on the bus in a bit. Jack just asked for leave; he won’t be coming back to the hotel tonight..."

"YES!!!"

Ah Ka and Ah Bu high-fived to celebrate over on the side.

Jas felt as if he had been plunged into an icy cavern.

The next second, he dialed Su Xi’s number.

The number you have dialed is turned off.

"AHHH!!"

Jas felt even worse.

’They didn’t actually go get a room, did they?’

Waaaaah!

It was upsetting enough that he hadn’t managed to win over the female star.

But his good friend’s sudden success made it even harder to accept.

’Little Sheep Su Xi, you bastard!’

’I’m definitely going to destroy you!!’

’On the court, I’m going to kick your ass so hard.’
