Su Xi went straight into a pull-up jumper... SWISH!

The basketball dropped through the net.

2-0.

Arenas scread excitedly from the sidelines, "Yes! That’s what I want to see, Jack!"

The scouts on the sidelines looked even more delighted. While one-on-one assessnts don’t carry much weight in the NBA, Su Xi’s understanding of the triple threat was a pleasant surprise. It proved he was by no ans just a "defensive player."

With a perfect build like his, he could easily beco a weapon on offense.

The third ti Su Xi got the ball, Marcus looked a little nervous.

But Su Xi didn’t go easy on him. He once again threw a hard jab step forward. Marcus initially backed off, but then Su Xi quickly pulled the ball into a pump fake. Marcus imdiately jumped to block it, and as he left his feet, Su Xi swiftly put the ball on the floor and drove past him.

Banks was sent flying by the fake.

He could only watch as Su Xi drove to the hoop and finished with a layup.

3-0.

The screams from the crowd grew louder.

Su Xi got the ball again. He hit Banks with another jab step, and Banks retreated slightly. But just then, Su Xi quickly put the ball on the floor and drove forward, forcing Banks to scramble back.

Just as he was retreating, Su Xi stopped on a di, took a step back, and released the shot with his left hand. Banks lunged over, but in the wrong direction.

SWISH!

The basketball dropped through the net.

That was a three-pointer.

By all rights, that should have sealed the ga.

Reid was already over there screaming and celebrating with his face in his hands.

But Banks refused to accept it, arguing they had to play to five points.

Su Xi obliged him. "I’ll give you one more. This is your last chance, you know."

Su Xi got the ball, and Banks imdiately stuck to him, not giving him any room to get into his triple threat stance.

Su Xi imdiately turned his back to the basket, backing Banks down.

Then, he gave a powerful bump backward, imdiately forcing Banks to stumble half a step back. Su Xi’s solid and powerful lower-body strength was sothing periter players like Banks couldn’t even imagine.

Su Xi then spun around, took one more dribble, and made a beeline for the paint. After two steps, he leaped into the air. Banks ca flying in from the side, trying to swat the ball down.

They collided in mid-air, with Banks pulling and tugging with all his might.

But it was useless. Su Xi’s explosiveness and strength were both far superior to Banks’s. Plus, he had a running start on his jump this ti. While his vertical wasn’t exceptionally high, his astonishingly long arms were more than enough to reach the rim... and he knocked Banks away in mid-air.

All he saw was the rim... BOOM!

Su Xi viciously slamd the ball through the hoop with his left hand.

At that mont, the entire gym erupted.

After landing, Banks staggered and fell right on his butt, a miserable and embarrassing end to his challenge.

But Su Xi just hung on the rim, looking down on everyone like a god who had descended to the mortal realm.

Banks’s eyes were filled with nothing but shock and fear. He never would have dread that he would be defeated so miserably.

And... now, he would have to suffer the painful consequences of his failed challenge.

That included his 50,000 USD, and the chain reaction of consequences that would follow. He was about to beco the first person to enter the NBA in debt.

His agent, Todolama, covered his eyes, his expression one of utter dejection.

He knew this was irreversible. All he could do now was see if he could negotiate with Su Xi to minimize the fallout.

Arenas rushed forward, grabbed Su Xi in a hug, and tried to hoist him up, shouting excitedly, "Jack, you were amazing! Jack! You should be the number one pick!"

The surrounding players all sward around them.

Only a few scouts remained standing off to the side.

They all knew who the others were; they worked for different teams. But right now, they all had the sa thought: ’We have to report back to our teams about this incredible tryout imdiately.’

Su Xi’s performance in this one-on-one might have had an elent of luck, and perhaps it wouldn’t an much in the NBA, a league full of masters of isolation plays. But the potential it revealed was a veritable treasure trove.

He had limitless potential.

He could even be grood as a franchise cornerstone... if a team was bold enough to do it.

"Tom, do you know what to do now?" O’Connor said to his old classmate, tilting his chin up proudly.

Tom took the hint. He pulled a contract out of his briefcase and said, "Please, Mike, you have to get your client to sign this contract."

"And?" O’Connor added.

Tom also handed the videotape to O’Connor.

"Very good! You have earned the approval of Mike O’Connor, agent to the world’s greatest basketball player." O’Connor’s chin was high, his eyes looking upward as he looked down his nose at Tom, posturing like the chief disciple spreading the gospel of the number one god of war.
