In her desperation, Sienna Johnson blurted out a lie. The lie, sure enough, worked. Sixth Master hadn’t hung up; there was still hope.
A mont later, Sixth Master’s voice ca through, sowhat incredulous, "Really?"
"I studied dicine. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to concoct a poison strong enough to kill a Tibetan Mastiff or a drug potent enough to knock out everyone on the island. I’m pregnant. I’m sure of it. The child is yours!"
Sixth Master had never used protection with her, a fact that had troubled Sienna Johnson greatly. I’m just glad now; otherwise, how could I keep this lie going!
Everyone saw Sixth Master’s expression turn foolish. Just monts before, he had been furious enough to kill soone, but now a smile appeared on his face—a smile that looked utterly foolish. What a quick change in emotions.
