「Johnson Family」

Curly was once again showing off her box of diamonds. She combined two boxes of diamonds, first rearranging them by color, and then arranging them again by alternating colors. She played this way countless tis, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Sienna Johnson was working, occasionally glancing at her daughter repeating the sa ga over and over, and shaking her head. She really didn’t know what was so fun about it.

"Godmother, which one do you like? I’ll give it to you," Curly said. Seeing Kiki staring at her ruby, she thought Kiki wanted it. After a mont’s hesitation, she made the generous offer.

Kiki shook her head. "I know you love it, so you should keep it. Besides, it would be no use to ."

Curly wasn’t naturally generous; she was very possessive of her belongings and only gave things to people she truly cherished.

"Are you sure you don’t want it?"

Kiki pinched Curly’s little nose. Initially, Curly hadn’t liked people pinching her nose. But then she heard soone say that regular pinching would make her nose taller and more defined, so she started pestering everyone to do it.

Children have such peculiar ideas in their heads, Sienna mused, not knowing what to make of it.

"Godmother, can you take to the supermarket tomorrow to buy a few boxes of Mushroom Power?"

"Why do you keep eating that stuff? I heard it’s unhealthy. No, you have to eat less of it!" Kiki disagreed.

Curly pushed the diamonds aside, abandoning her ga, and snuggled into Kiki’s arms. "Open up Mushroom Power, unleash your imagination! You have to eat more for it to work!"

This child wasn’t keen on learning words but rembered advertising slogans with remarkable speed.

"That’s all just a gimmick..."

"No, it’s not! It’s true! Look, I’ve only eaten a few boxes, and haven’t I beco smarter?"

Kiki was both amused and exasperated, but Sienna finally intervened to smooth things over.

"Sienna, what did you and the Sixth Master do today?" Kiki asked curiously.

"We ate a load of junk food, Curly played in the children’s play area for a while, and I took a nap."

Under the desk lamp, Sienna was engrossed in her work. She was very thin, which made her eyes appear even larger. Kiki felt a pang of sympathy for Sienna. "Did the Sixth Master do anything to you?"

Sienna looked up, eting Kiki’s gaze. "What do you think he could do to ?"

"The Sixth Master is a very persistent man."

"Are you implying he has ulterior motives towards ?"

"Sienna, you’re so intelligent; surely you can see it?"

Sienna took off the fraless glasses perched on the bridge of her nose and rubbed the spot between her eyebrows.

At this mont, she didn’t look like a powerful businesswoman but more like a young woman fresh out of college. Barefoot, with her feet resting on the edge of her chair, her long hair was casually twisted up with a pen at the back of her head, a few stray strands escaping. She lacked her usual shrewdness, instead exuding a touch of laziness and girlish charm.

"...Even if he does have ulterior motives, I don’t feel that way about him... He’s a highly aggressive man, and being with him prevents from relaxing.

That man is not right for ."

She needed soone like Kenneth Brown, a warm man who could comfort her when she was tired, not soone as strong and domineering as a lion.

"Sienna, I saw the Sixth Master today, and I have a bad feeling about it."

"He probably won’t cause any trouble for now."

Sienna did a final check of the report, ensuring all the numbers were correct, before finally concluding her work for the day.

"There’s one more thing. I saw Sabrina Johnson in front of Yulan’s Bridal Shop today..."

"Oh." Sienna sounded unconcerned.

"Sabrina Johnson was with Kenneth Brown."

This statent caught Sienna’s attention. "And then?"

"I saw them from the bus. I don’t know if it was a chance encounter or a planned eting. Whenever that Sabrina Johnson appears, trouble follows. Do you want to ask Kenneth Brown about it?"

Sienna twirled the pen in her hand, pondering. That woman, Sabrina Johnson, truly is an opportunist who only acts if there’s sothing in it for her. "Let Lucas check it out tomorrow," she said, adding, "It’s too late today."

"Alright," Kiki agreed.

"Curly, ti for bed."

"I know! Brush teeth, wash face, wash feet. Go to bed early, wake up early, stay healthy!" Curly recited Sienna’s usual bedti mantra.

「Hotel」

Adrian Desmond lay on the bed as the masseur worked on him. The coiling snake tattooed on his back was terrifying. The masseur was blind, but his technique was excellent, and he worked quietly. Adrian was very satisfied with him and tipped generously.

Tatu entered but seeing Adrian was having a massage, he didn’t disturb him.

Without looking, Adrian recognized Tatu’s footsteps. "What is it?" he asked.

"Yes."

Adrian had the masseur leave. He slipped on a white bathrobe and sat on the massage bed. The V-neck of the robe revealed a large expanse of his wheat-colored skin, and his tousled hair partially covered his eyes, which still glinted with sharpness.

"That woman, Emilia, is pregnant with Kenneth Brown’s child."

"Very well. Find the best doctor to ensure she carries the child to term! Fatten her up a bit; I want everyone to clearly see she’s pregnant on the day of the engagent ceremony."

"A bodyguard and a doctor have been assigned."

Tatu didn’t ntion that Emilia was unwilling to leave, even without a bodyguard. Not only was Adrian covering all her expenses and providing her with good food and drink, but he had also promised her a large sum of money once the task was completed. He even offered an additional bonus if she successfully gave birth to the child.

When it ca to money, Adrian had always been generous. Buying loyalty and service with money was a thod that had never failed him. After all, while ordinary people might resist small sums of money, very few could withstand the temptation of an amount so large it could ensure a lifeti of comfort and security. Especially in a society with so many excessively greedy people.

"Keep a close eye on her. No mistakes."

"Yes, sir."

Tatu also reported on the Stewart Family and Sabrina Johnson. Hearing about the Stewart Family’s scheming, Adrian was so furious he wanted to kill those bastards.

Despicable! Plotting against my woman, and now they’re even scheming to use my daughter!

Tatu also found it outrageous. How could they even think of using the adorable Curly in a marriage alliance? Did their Young Miss need to stoop to sothing so deaning?

"Sixth Master, should we intervene and eliminate the Stewart Family and Sabrina Johnson?"

What puzzled Tatu was that Adrian actually stopped him. "None of you are to interfere. Let the Stewart Family and Sabrina Johnson do whatever they please."

"What about Madam, then?"

If nothing happens, how can I demonstrate my worth? Adrian mused. I’m also very curious to see if Kenneth Brown will betray Sienna.

With Adrian’s grasp of human nature, he was sure Kenneth Brown would take the bait.

Kenneth Brown was willing to cooperate with Sabrina Johnson only because he didn’t want to lose Sienna. Little did he know, this would only ensure he lost her completely.

Indeed, when soone is determined to court disaster, nothing can stop them.
