The two groups clashed directly, exchanging fire for more than twenty minutes before the jungle finally returned to silence. Adrian Desmond’s group gathered, and Walter Klein did a headcount; no one was missing, though Tatu had injured one of his arms.

Wayne Manning was a smart man. Hearing Adrian Desmond’s words, he understood what was being asked. He hesitated before saying, "Sixth Master, I won’t lie to you, my forces are far inferior to Uncle’s. Otherwise, I would have sought revenge on him long ago. So, if you’re asking to help you deal with Uncle, I’m afraid I can’t be of much assistance."

"You stay behind and assist Wayne Manning. Also, maintain contact with the Governnt. Inform imdiately if anything cos up."
The others also tried to persuade him, "Sixth Master, this is really too dangerous..."
Adrian Desmond waved his hand, stopping them from continuing. His mind was made up. He wouldn’t be at ease unless he went personally.
