"The man is her ex-lover, the father of the child in her belly!" Master Leland explained.

"Those who seek wealth must be prepared for risk. If she can marry into the Stewarts by the rit of her child, that would be the best. Even if she can’t marry into the family, she could still get a lot of money."

Sissi stopped crying and hesitated for a mont. Frederick slapped her across the face. "You slut!" he snarled. Sabrina flinched at the sound, feeling a pang of sympathy for Sissi.
