"lanie, are your injuries serious?" Adrian Desmond asked.
"She was shot in the abdon and is currently undergoing ergency treatnt at the hospital," Walter Klein reported.
Adrian Desmond hadn’t expected it to be so severe.
lanie Carpenter was Adrian Desmond’s fiancée. Adrian Desmond had offended many people, so he had provided lanie Carpenter with top-tier bodyguards. Yet, lanie Carpenter had still been injured, shot in the abdon no less.
He roared, "How could lanie get injured? Where were those bodyguards? What the hell good are they?"
"Of the ten bodyguards, nine were killed, and one was critically injured," Walter Klein said sorrowfully.
Adrian Desmond narrowed his eyes slightly. "How many people did they send?"
"At least thirty! And every single one of them is highly skilled!"
"It seems they ca well-prepared."
"Sixth Master, our killing of Swanson must have alard Maxwell Bradford. Bradford is notoriously cunning; he must have guessed you intend to seek revenge on them. That’s why he orchestrated the assassination attempt on Miss Carpenter. If I’m not mistaken, their original plan was likely to capture Miss Carpenter alive to threaten you."
With ten bodyguards—nine dead and one critically injured—lanie Carpenter’s injuries, comparatively, were light. Walter Klein had received word that their initial plan wasn’t to kill lanie Carpenter. It was only when the situation turned unfavorable, and they feared exposure, that they decided to shoot her.
"Prepare a boat for . I want to go see lanie!"

Sienna Johnson hadn’t taken her dicine, but she did eat so food. Adrian Desmond, thinking she was from Raelnia, had specially hired a Raelnian chef for her. Sienna Johnson was miserable. She liked Oriental cuisine and disliked Raelnian cuisine intensely.
"Mai, it’s fine if you don’t take the dicine, but eat more food. Your body will recover faster if you eat more," Kiki said. She continued to place food on Sienna’s plate, her eyes filled with relief to see her eating.

Kiki also disliked Raelnian cuisine. "Your food is really awful," she said.
Sienna Johnson agreed and said casually, "Next ti, cook so of your specialties for to try."
"Absolutely! I can make Tea Leaf Salad, Fish Vermicelli Soup, Curry Crab, Mandanila Giant Prawns..." Kiki rattled off a long list of dishes, greatly whetting Sienna Johnson’s appetite.
"Then make them for dinner."
"Sure."
She had rely saved Kiki’s life and taken her in, yet this woman treated her with utmost devotion.
"Kiki, thank you for taking care of these past few days."
Kiki didn’t dare take credit. "It wasn’t ; the Sixth Master has been taking care of you these days... Mai, actually, the Sixth Master is quite good. You don’t know how nervous he was when you were unconscious. He put everything else aside just to stay by your side."

"Sigh, if a man could treat that well, I’d die for him willingly," Kiki said with a longing expression, her eyes practically sparkling.
Sienna Johnson laughed. "Our Kiki is thinking about n! There are so many n on the island. Why don’t we hold a martial arts tournant to find you a husband accomplished in both scholarly and martial arts?"
Kiki blushed and, biting her chopsticks, said, "Mai, what nonsense are you talking about?"
"What are you shy about? If you really like soone, just tell . I’ll be your matchmaker."
Kiki stood up, glared at Mai, and said, "If you keep talking nonsense, I won’t talk to you anymore."
Kiki was also a beauty; otherwise, Charlie Parker wouldn’t have abducted her in the first place. She was associated with Adrian Desmond, so most n on the island wouldn’t dare touch her directly. Kiki sat down again, looking at Sienna Johnson with a hesitant expression, as if struggling to find the words. Sienna Johnson rely glanced at her, already knowing what Kiki wanted to say. It was undoubtedly to persuade her to cherish the one before her—aning Adrian Desmond, of course.
"You’re already with the Sixth Master, and he likes you so much. He’ll never let you go... You should forget that other man..." Kiki patiently urged, just as Sienna Johnson had anticipated.
"Where has the Sixth Master gone?" Sienna Johnson hadn’t seen him all day.
Kiki avoided her gaze, not daring to look directly at Sienna Johnson. Sienna Johnson had only asked casually, but seeing Kiki’s reaction, her curiosity was piqued. "Where has the Sixth Master gone?"
"The Sixth Master went back to Abyanabad."
"What did he go back to Abyanabad for?"
Kiki knew Sienna Johnson’s temperant. She certainly couldn’t tell her that Adrian Desmond’s fiancée was injured and that he had gone to see her. "I’m not sure either," Kiki said evasively. "I heard it was sothing urgent, probably business-related..."
Xavier Young pushed the door open and entered. "The Sixth Master went to see Miss Carpenter," he announced.
Sienna Johnson’s expression darkened instantly upon seeing Xavier Young. Kiki, visibly panicked, stood up and tried to push Xavier Young out. "What are you doing here? Get out!"
Xavier Young pushed Kiki aside and walked straight up to Sienna Johnson. He looked at her with a mocking gaze. "Do you know who Miss Carpenter is?"
Sienna Johnson didn’t even glance at Xavier Young, which pricked his pride. "I don’t believe you’re not interested! Miss Carpenter is the Sixth Master’s fiancée!"
"..."
"You think the Sixth Master likes you a lot, don’t you? You were sick, and he stayed by your side to care for you. But compared to Miss Carpenter, you’re insignificant. Look, Miss Carpenter rely has a little fever and a cold, yet the Sixth Master dropped everything to go take care of *her*."
Having said that, Xavier Young stared at Sienna Johnson’s face, expecting to see pain and anger, but there was none. Sienna Johnson’s expression remained rely indifferent.

"I’m not," Sienna Johnson said, looking at Xavier Young with a faint smile. Her smile was shallow, like a breeze that rippled the surface of a spring pond.
