With three days left until the trial, Sienna Johnson had been sleeping poorly these past few days, fearing that sothing unexpected might happen.

In the courtroom, Sabrina Johnson would face two charges: one for the consummated murder of Dexter Johnson, and another for the assault and attempted murder of the pregnant Sissi. Sissi had her uterus removed and her body abandoned; the circumstances were particularly heinous and the social impact extrely negative. Sabrina Johnson was facing a heavy sentence.

As the plaintiff, if Sissi couldn’t appear in court in three days to testify against Sabrina Johnson, then the charge against Sabrina Johnson for assaulting the pregnant Sissi could not lead to a conviction.

An idea flashed through Sienna’s mind. She asked Adrian Desmond, "Adrian, they’re looking for Sissi at this ti. Could they be trying to make her change her testimony and drop the charges against Sabrina Johnson in court?"

Adrian Desmond wasn’t sure. He told Sienna, "We’ll find out when we bring Sissi over and ask her."

"Okay."

Sienna Johnson waited anxiously in the car. Fortunately, Brett Jacobs didn’t make them wait too long before returning with Sissi.

Sissi was brought into the car. She looked disheveled and terrified, shivering uncontrollably. The mont she saw Sienna Johnson, she burst into tears.

"President Johnson, did you save ?" Sissi asked excitedly.

Sienna Johnson observed her. Sissi had grown terribly thin, losing her forr beauty. She resembled a flower battered by wind and frost—withered and frail, with less of her sharp edge and more of a delicate vulnerability.

Her feet were bare and had several abrasions, and her knee was scraped and bleeding; it seed she had fallen.

Sienna Johnson handed her a tissue and asked, "Who was chasing you? Do you know those people?"

Sissi shook her head, wiping the tears from her face with the tissue, still imrsed in fear and looking pitiable.

"Don’t be afraid; it’s okay now. They’re gone, and you’re safe."

Yet, Sissi didn’t feel safe at all. Instead, she said with lingering fear, "No, they won’t give up easily. They’ll definitely co after again. What am I supposed to do? Who can save ?"

Sissi was crying so hard she could barely catch her breath. Adrian Desmond, who hated seeing won cry, scolded her, "Shut up! If you keep crying, I’ll throw you out!"

Sissi stopped crying imdiately. She timidly looked at Adrian Desmond, pleading, "Please don’t make get out of the car; they’ll co back to catch ."

Adrian Desmond’s expression was cold, utterly devoid of sympathy. Sissi turned to Sienna Johnson, pleading, "Please, save ! I don’t want to die."

Sienna Johnson asked, "How do you know they want to kill you?"

Sissi lowered her head, not making a sound.

Observing Sissi’s deanor, Sienna Johnson’s gaze sharpened. She said coldly, "If you don’t tell the truth, we can’t help you."

Sissi’s psychological defenses crumbled. She started crying again, saying, "I’ll tell you... I’ll tell you everything..."

"They ca to find to force not to accuse that bitch Sabrina Johnson in court! I refused, so they started to beat and threatened to kill if I didn’t obey. I desperately ran away. If it weren’t for you, I would’ve been killed by them by now."

"Do you know who they are?"

Sissi shook her head. "I don’t know!"

Sienna Johnson pondered for a mont. She determined that the two assailants had co for Sabrina Johnson, which provided a clue. The only people who would help Sabrina Johnson were Master Leland, Yvette Harris, and Ryan Langston, whom Sabrina Johnson had later beco involved with. However, she couldn’t ascertain which of them these two individuals were working for.

"Please, save ; I can’t go back. They must still be waiting for there. Going back would be like walking into a trap... You have a grudge against Sabrina Johnson too, right? She killed your father, so you must want to bring her to justice, right?"

Sienna Johnson turned to the man next to her and asked, "Can you help her find a safe place?"

Sienna Johnson was cautious; she wouldn’t bring Sissi, whom she barely knew, back to the Johnson family ho. Only people she trusted, or those connected to Adrian Desmond, were allowed to live there.

"Yes."

Sissi was overjoyed. "Thank you, thank you."

Sienna Johnson looked at Sissi. Knowing so of her past, she offered so advice, "After Sabrina Johnson’s case is over, you should go back to your hotown and live a quiet life. This place may be nice, but it isn’t your hotown!"

Sissi covered her face, crying. "I can’t go back... I can’t go back! In my hotown, n marry won to bear children. My uterus has been removed; I can’t even have a baby girl. Who would want ?

"My parents know what happened to ; they won’t let co ho! They say I’m a disgrace! I don’t want to go back either. After what’s happened to , I might as well die out here.

"If I didn’t want to see that bitch Sabrina Johnson go to jail, I might have already jumped off a building and killed myself."

For won like Sissi, who ca from impoverished backgrounds to the big city, it was easy to be dazzled by the glitz and glamour. Having never experienced luxury, their materialistic hearts were easily captured by n offering small favors, who then enjoyed their youth at a minimal cost.

For these young won, the lucky few, like Yvette Harris, managed to displace the legitimate wife and marry into a wealthy family, securing a lifeti of riches and splendor. However, such an outco was as rare as winning the lottery. Those with bad luck, like Sissi, not only failed to gain any wealth but lost their uterus—an undeniably tragic price to pay.

Sienna Johnson sighed. "Don’t talk about suicide so lightly. As the saying goes, ’A wretched life is better than a good death.’ As long as you’re alive, there’s always hope. The future might not be as bleak as you imagine."

But Sissi, lost in her sorrow, didn’t seem to take in a word, simply continuing to cry.

Adrian Desmond, annoyed by her, handed her off to a bodyguard to get into their car. He complained, "It’s the path she chose; she has to keep going even if she regrets it. Why are you wasting your breath on her?"

"She’s just a young woman who was dazzled by glamour and took a few wrong turns," Sienna Johnson said. "It’s not like she’s committed any heinous cris..."

Adrian Desmond scoffed. "Don’t you hate mistresses the most? If a mistress stole your husband one day, I doubt you’d still feel any sympathy for her then."

Sienna Johnson, ever independent, replied, "If one day a mistress did steal my husband, I would actually thank her.

"Thank her for helping see the true nature of the man I was with, ensuring I didn’t waste my best years on a scumbag. By leaving early, I’d still have the chance to et a genuinely good man...

"The mistress might think she’s won, but a man’s infidelity is like a drug addiction; it’s impossible to quit.

"Unless she can remain eternally beautiful and youthful, like a thousand-year-old demon—never developing wrinkles from age or stretch marks from childbirth..."

Adrian Desmond laughed coldly. "Yeah, what do you have to fear? If I ever showed the slightest sign of cheating, you wouldn’t waste a single word on . You’d dump imdiately, flee far away, and take my child with you to marry soone else!"
