Sue White’s lips twitched at the man’s blatant lies. "I’d better say less, or I fear I might vomit!"
"You need to get used to my way of speaking!"
"I can’t!"
"Ti will change everything... I believe, one day, you..."
"Shut up!" Sue White impatiently interrupted Herbert Young.
"Is this lawyer really good?" Sienna Johnson asked.
"Gerard Faber—also known as Phillip Faber—maintained a consistent winning streak with the cases he took on. HEH HEH, it looks like that record will be broken today."
Shawn looked at the man on the court, dressed in a lawyer’s robe and as proud as a rooster, a sinister smile playing on his lips.
"How can you be so sure? You know Phillip Faber’s capabilities; he can even talk a dead person back to life..."
"Only because his opponents are too weak..."
Herbert Young glanced at Adrian Desmond. Adrian held Sienna Johnson’s hand tightly, his eyes only for her, seeing no one else.
"What’s the background of Sienna Johnson’s husband?" Herbert Young asked curiously.
"I don’t know."
...
Addressing the question of whether Sabrina Johnson had a ntal illness, the Prosecutor first called their star witness: Pauline Briggs.
"Miss Briggs, is Sabrina Johnson your adopted daughter?"
"Yes!"
"Do you understand her?"
Pauline Briggs glanced at Sabrina Johnson and said, "I didn’t understand her before, but now I understand her very well!"
"So can you tell everyone how you and Sabrina Johnson usually get along? Has she ever shown any signs of ntal illness?"
Before Pauline took the stand, Sienna had instructed her not to get agitated or lose her composure in anger, but to simply tell everyone what she knew, factually.
Pauline Briggs steadied herself and thodically described to the judge, the dia, and the spectators her daily interactions with Sabrina Johnson, as well as Sabrina Johnson’s usual conduct. Finally, Pauline Briggs stated with conviction,
"Based on my experience of living with Sabrina Johnson for over twenty years, it is absolutely impossible for her to have a ntal illness.
The reason she claid to be ntally ill was rely to escape legal punishnt!"
"Don’t be fooled by this venomous woman! If you let her go today, she will continue to harm others!"
Next was Sienna Johnson.
Sienna Johnson was even calr than Pauline Briggs. When the lawyer questioned her, she responded like an emotionless robot; only when discussing her father’s death did her composure flicker slightly.
"Miss Johnson, you and Sabrina Johnson are peers and were once considered sisters. In your interactions with Sabrina Johnson, did she ever exhibit any signs of ntal illness?"
"...I returned to the Johnson family when I was thirteen. Sabrina Johnson was full of hostility towards . On my first day of school, she falsely accused of stealing and forced to kneel in the hallway, where everyone laughed at . That incident is why, to this day, I’m unwilling to attend any class reunions...
"Sabrina Johnson constantly made things difficult for , but her actions were always thodical. She was adept at pretending to be a sweet, obedient girl in front of my mother. Soone who can control her emotions so readily, who is so adept at being two-faced—acting one way in public and another in private—is definitely not ntally ill."
"You’re talking nonsense!" Sabrina Johnson, who had been silent in the defendant’s dock, suddenly spat out icily. Then, as if ignited, she lunged towards the witness stand like a madwoman.
Adrian Desmond swiftly charged onto the platform, shielding Sienna Johnson in his arms.
Because of the previous incident where Sabrina had attacked soone, the two bailiffs guarding her had been on high alert, so she didn’t manage to reach Sienna Johnson.
Two bailiffs quickly moved to restrain her. However, Sabrina Johnson, though handcuffed, still tried to use her hands to grip the iron railing before her, attempting to vault over it.
Sabrina Johnson’s hands were like claws, her hair was disheveled, and her expression was hideous; she looked exactly like a malevolent spirit dragged up from hell.
"Sienna Johnson! You’re lying! You’re the one who’s jealous of , framing , falsely accusing !
You despicable woman! I want to stab you to death! I want to stab you to death!"
"Just you wait! I will kill you! I will dig out the child in your belly and smash him to death while he’s still alive, HAHAHA..." Sabrina Johnson seed insane, ranting hysterically.
Sabrina Johnson’s voice was sharp and piercing. "Sienna Johnson, why don’t you just die? Why don’t you die? If you die, I’ll be the eternal Miss of the Johnson family... HAHA..."
Sabrina Johnson, with both arms restrained, looked as horrifying and hideous as a frenzied demoness.
"Sienna Johnson, listen to well! As long as I, Sabrina Johnson, am alive, don’t you ever expect to sleep peacefully!"
"Because I will carve the flesh from your body piece by piece, make you watch yourself turn into a pile of bones, and then die in agony! HAHAHAHA!" Sabrina Johnson threw her head back and laughed maniacally.
The entire courtroom erupted into chaos.
The dia reporters present were dumbstruck by Sabrina Johnson. They even forgot to raise their caras and capture this extrely explosive and newsworthy mont.
After a brief, stunned silence, the courtroom beca as clamorous as a marketplace.
"Order! Order!" The judge repeatedly banged the gavel, trying to quiet the tumultuous courtroom.
Two bailiffs couldn’t control the hysterical Sabrina Johnson. More were called to assist. Only then was the furious Sabrina Johnson temporarily subdued, though she continued to glare at Sienna Johnson, her eyes like knives intent on slowly flaying her.
Pauline Briggs stood there, stunned. A thin layer of sweat beaded on her forehead. In that instant, even she wasn’t sure if Sabrina Johnson was truly insane or rely acting.
"Silence, silence!" The judge hamred the gavel.
It took about ten minutes for the uproar to finally subside and the courtroom to quiet down.
Sabrina Johnson eventually cald down. She was forcibly returned to her seat, handcuffed, and, to prevent further outbursts, her feet were also shackled. Only then did she beco completely still.
Now, Sabrina Johnson’s eyes were blank. She sat there in a daze, seemingly oblivious to what had just transpired, as if the hysterical woman from monts ago hadn’t been her at all.
Her acting was successful.
Not only did the man with a mole on his chin in the first row give her an approving nod, but even Phillip Faber (the prominent lawyer) shot her an extrely satisfied glance.
Sabrina Johnson’s outburst was so realistic, so utterly convincing, that any discerning observer would almost imdiately conclude she genuinely suffered from a severe ntal illness.
The judge and the mbers of the jury exchanged glances and nodded.
The Prosecutor continued, "Your Honor, please allow to call today’s third witness!"
The judge said, "Allowed!"
The third witness was none other than Xenon Lewis.
As soon as Xenon Lewis took the stand, the expression of the man in the first row changed. He stood up, intending to leave, but Brett Jacobs quickly walked over and forcibly pushed him back down into his seat.
