"Sixth Master has too many won; I’m afraid he can’t protect them all by himself."
Xavier Young didn’t expect Sienna Johnson to say that. He looked at Sienna’s indifferent expression, thought of lanie Carpenter, and explained, "...Sixth Master really likes you. I’ve been with him for so long, but I’ve never seen him care for any woman like this before..."
"Xavier, what’s been up with you lately?"
Xavier Young felt a pang of guilt and blustered, "What’s wrong with ? I’m doing great, aside from you pestering every day!"
Sienna Johnson laughed. "Life on the island is lonely. You should be grateful that a great beauty like is here to keep you company!"
"Humph!"
Sienna Johnson was warming up, afraid of injuring herself during the intense exercise later. As she raised her arms and leaned her body forward, the beautiful contour of her chest was revealed. Xavier Young felt like he was about to have a nosebleed. He quickly turned to face the ocean, calming his mind and steadying his breath.
"Let’s begin!"
Close quarter combat, also known as silent killing techniques, is a primary training subject in the military. Each unit has its own set of fighting techniques. For example, besides the Navy’s Ju Boxing and Westorian Close Combat, there is also significant training in Karate, Judo, Sanda, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Grappling and Free Fighting. All units use Sanda as the foundational training for Special Forces, as Sanda incorporates the essence of Oriental Martial Arts and is a rapid thod for Special Forces to subdue enemies.
Xavier Young had originally intended to just teach Sienna Johnson so karate and be done with it, but Sienna Johnson insisted on learning the more ferocious combat martial arts.
The so-called "ferocious combat martial arts" was a term Xavier Young had coined himself. It was actually a blend of Karate, Judo, Sanda, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Grappling and Free Fighting, from which he had extracted the most aggressive and enemy-subduing moves to form a distinct set of martial arts.
"Actually, Sixth Master’s close quarter combat skills are better than mine."
"Are you implying that if you were to fight Sixth Master, you wouldn’t be able to beat him?"
Sienna Johnson was always so rcilessly direct when she spoke to him these days.
"Yes." It was the truth. Although he wanted to appear more formidable in front of Sienna Johnson, lying and bragging were not in his nature.
"It’s fine. Teach all the close quarter combat you know, and I’ll definitely be able to defeat Sixth Master," Sienna Johnson said with a smile.
She threw a punch, which Xavier Young dodged. "You’ve only been learning for a few days, and you’re already talking so big."
"Do you know what a woman’s most powerful weapon is?"
"What?"
"AH..." Sienna Johnson’s foot slipped. Xavier Young quickly caught her, gallantly acting as a cushion to break her fall, only to have a cold dagger pressed against his neck. The sensation was far from pleasant.
"Mai, what are you doing?"
"A woman’s most potent weapon is her face! Especially that of a beautiful woman. Xavier, when you look for a wife in the future, don’t choose soone too beautiful..."
"Why?"
"Haven’t you heard the saying? ’Fem fatale!’ The more beautiful a woman is, the more dangerous she is." Sienna Johnson withdrew the dagger and stood up. Xavier Young remained on the ground, still in the position he’d fallen into.
"..."
"Did the fall scramble your brains? Get up..." She reached out her hand to him. Xavier Young stared at Sienna Johnson’s charming smile, montarily dazed again.
"All n like beautiful won!" he said.
"That’s why most n lack depth and are easily bewitched by a woman’s face." Sienna Johnson pulled Xavier Young up, lecturing him as if he were her own son. "’Beauty turns to bone.’ When you see a beautiful woman in the future, just rember that she, too, will eventually be nothing but a pile of white bones."
"...Words like that should co from an ugly woman."
Sienna Johnson laughed, her voice sounding as sweet as a lark to Xavier Young’s ears. "Xavier, you’re complinting my beauty... Thank you."
"No..." She always teased him, and he was always led around by her. What frustrated Xavier Young even more was that he inexplicably enjoyed being teased by her.
Today, Sienna Johnson and Xavier Young practiced for an extended ti. It was already six o’clock, but they still hadn’t finished.
When Kiki ca looking for Sienna Johnson with her phone, Sienna Johnson was breathlessly engaged in a fierce struggle with Xavier Young.
"You don’t need to go easy on !"
"If I didn’t, you would have been down long ago!"
"You’re just knocking down, but my real enemies would take my life!"
She was always so perceptive. With a burst of strength from Xavier Young, Sienna Johnson was thrown to the ground. Hearing the heavy thud, he asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
"Mai, are you alright?"
Kiki also saw Xavier Young throw Sienna Johnson hard onto the ground. She hurried over, helped the panting Sienna Johnson up, and glared at him. "Xavier, are you even a man? How could you be so cruel to Mai!"
Xavier Young and Kiki were like oil and water; they always bickered when they t.
"Kiki, I’m fine."
"How can you be okay? Look at you, you’re covered in injuries," Kiki said, her voice laced with concern.
Sienna Johnson, however, was in a great mood. She enjoyed learning close quarter combat; she loved acquiring any skill that allowed her to protect herself.
"Xavier, thank you for today. I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow."
This specially leveled open space on the hilltop had been turned into a martial arts training ground, where people on the island usually practiced. When Sienna Johnson decided to learn martial arts here, Xavier Young had asked the others to train elsewhere.
"You should take a day off tomorrow."
"No need!"
"You’re a woman; don’t push yourself too hard!"
Sienna Johnson was obstinate and accustod to having her own way. If she said they would continue today, Xavier Young could only obey. In this regard, Sienna Johnson and Adrian Desmond were very similar; both enjoyed giving orders!
"Oh, I almost forgot. Mai, it’s a call from Sixth Master..."
Sienna Johnson frowned deeply, clearly not wanting to answer the call. Kiki thrust the phone into Sienna Johnson’s hand and then pulled Xavier Young away.
Sienna Johnson put the phone to her ear, her voice cold. "Sixth Master, you called?"
That "Sixth Master" made Adrian Desmond’s heart ache with a mix of sourness and bitterness. "I told you, call by my na!"
"What did you call for?" She still refused to use his na.
"Can’t I call you even if there’s nothing specific?" It had been five days, and this woman hadn’t sent him a single call or text.
"Why aren’t you speaking?" Adrian Desmond asked.
"You talk. I’m listening."
What should he say? Before calling, he had so many things he wanted to tell her. But now that the call was connected, he suddenly didn’t know what to say.
"I heard you’re learning close quarter combat from Xavier?"
"Yes."
"What made you suddenly want to learn close quarter combat?"
"Boredom!"
"I’m tied up here; it’ll be so ti before I can return."
"Mm-hmm."
It would be better if he didn’t co back.
"If you want anything, just tell Tatu, and he’ll buy it for you."
"Mm-hmm."
