lanie Carpenter stood up and said, "Co on, let’s go see Mai."
"What do we need to see her for? I don’t want to go!"
"The rhododendrons on the island are blooming; let’s take Mai to pick so."
Many rhododendrons were planted on the island. When they were in full bloom, red and vibrant, they were a truly delightful sight. lanie Carpenter loved rhododendrons; her room was filled with them.
"Cousin, why do we need to bring Mai? Look at her vacant state. What can she do?" Bella Ford was full of hostility toward Sienna Johnson.
"Because Sixth Brother wants to see getting along peacefully with Mai..."
Bella Ford stopped talking.
lanie Carpenter gently held Bella Ford’s hand. "Why are you making that face?" she said softly. "You should be happy."
"What should I be happy about?" Bella Ford whispered back.
"Sixth Brother has always been indifferent to won. But now he has Mai, and he might have more won in the future. If you like him, I’ll arrange for him to marry you as well. That way, I’ll have so company."
Bella Ford looked at lanie Carpenter in shock, stuttering, "C-cousin, what... what are you talking about..." She lowered her head, her face turning red.
lanie Carpenter laughed. "You like Sixth Brother. Don’t think I don’t know."
Bella Ford was startled, her eyes flickering as she tried to hide her true emotions. If lanie Carpenter could see it, what about Adrian Desmond?
"How did you know, Cousin?"
"We grew up together. How could you hide anything from ? There isn’t a woman alive who wouldn’t like a man like Sixth Brother."
Bella Ford shyly asked, "What about Sixth Brother? Does he...?"
"He what?" lanie Carpenter teased her deliberately.
"He..." Bella Ford looked up, saw the teasing glint in lanie Carpenter’s eyes, then turned away with a pout. "Oh, Cousin, you just love to bully !"

Selena Robertson knew Adrian Desmond was planning to take Sienna Johnson to Abyanabad, so she ca to him, wanting to go along. "Sixth Master, please take with you!" she urged. "Mai is in her current state; she needs soone to take care of her."
Sienna Johnson’s condition truly worried Selena Robertson.
"You stay on the island," Adrian Desmond refused.
Selena Robertson didn’t give up. "Mai can’t even eat by herself now; she needs to feed her. I heard you’re going to Abyanabad on business this ti, Sixth Master. Will you have ti to feed Mai, bathe her, comb her hair, and dress her?"
Adrian Desmond looked at the vacant Sienna Johnson. He walked over and grasped her hand. As he stared into her empty, silent eyes, the pain in his heart intensified.
He had always hoped Sienna Johnson would stop trying to escape, that she would be obedient and submissive. But this current version of her wasn’t what he wanted. He wanted the spirited, cunning-as-a-fox, and sufficiently ruthless woman...
"Sixth Master, please take with you. I won’t cause you any trouble..."
"Alright," Adrian Desmond agreed.
Selena Robertson hadn’t expected Adrian Desmond to agree so quickly and was montarily stunned. When she recovered, she thanked him repeatedly. "Thank you, Sixth Master! I’ll definitely take good care of Mai."
"Go help Mai pack. Don’t bring too much."
"Yes, Sixth Master."
Only Adrian Desmond and Sienna Johnson remained in the room. Adrian tried to speak with Sienna, but she showed no reaction whatsoever.
Adrian Desmond sighed. "When we get to Abyanabad, I’ll find a psychiatrist for you..." She can’t go on in this half-dead, half-alive state.

"I must have owed you in my past life, and you’re here to collect the debt in this one." Adrian Desmond was at his wit’s end with Sienna Johnson.
KNOCK KNOCK... The sound of knocking ca from the door. lanie Carpenter and Bella Ford had arrived. They saw Adrian Desmond half-kneeling by the window in front of Sienna Johnson. He held her hand, his gaze fixed on her. Adrian was tall and handso, and Sienna was as beautiful as a little fairy. The two of them looked truly well-matched.
"Sixth Brother, Cousin and I are here to see Mai." Bella Ford found this scene incredibly jarring and spoke up to interrupt.
Adrian Desmond looked over at the two at the door. "Why are you here?" he asked. "Do you need sothing from ?"
lanie Carpenter walked in, approaching Sienna Johnson, her eyes gentle and docile. "The rhododendrons outside are blooming beautifully. I want to take Mai to pick so."
"You take Bella Ford. Mai isn’t going," Adrian Desmond said, uneasy.
Bella Ford hadn’t wanted to bring Mai in the first place. "Cousin, look at her vacant expression. How can she pick rhododendrons? Let’s just go, don’t bring this idiot..."
Adrian Desmond suddenly rose and slapped Bella Ford across the face. "Who did you call an idiot?" he questioned, his voice dark.

Adrian Desmond pointed at her, roaring, "Say it! If you have the guts, say it to again!"
Bella Ford was stunned by Adrian Desmond’s slap. Adrian Desmond was strikingly handso, but when angered, he was terrifying enough to make one’s blood run cold. Bella Ford hid behind lanie Carpenter, seeking protection. "Cousin..."
"Bella, apologize to Mai!" Even the usually gentle and submissive lanie Carpenter wore a stern expression.
No matter how unwilling Bella Ford was at this mont, she could only yield. "S-sorry..." she mumbled.

Bella Ford covered her mouth, turned, and ran out.
lanie Carpenter looked at the furious Adrian Desmond and sighed. "Bella didn’t an any harm. She’s always been thoughtlessly outspoken. For my sake, please don’t hold it against her."
"If it weren’t for your sake, I’d have had her tongue torn out!"
"Sixth Brother?"
"You get out too!" Adrian Desmond turned his back, unwilling to say another word to lanie Carpenter.
lanie Carpenter glanced at Sienna Johnson, who sat there, indifferent to everything, showing no reaction. Lowering her gaze, lanie quietly left.
When Adrian Desmond was alone with Sienna Johnson, the frost and anger from before vanished. He knelt on one knee before her, took her hand, and promised, "Mai... please get better... Though I want you to be obedient and submissive, if you stay like this, you’ll be easily bullied."

"I can’t be with you every mont. What if soone bullies you when I’m not around?"
Adrian Desmond was fiercely protective. Even if Sienna Johnson was in the wrong, he wouldn’t allow others to bully her.
